ECW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Jericholic82 replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
is that the mikey/tajiri-fbi tag title change? if so yea I liked that match too, I also remember it being superstiff I agree, ECW on TNN was rather sucky for the most part, and had too much backstage segments and crappy ymatches (though we did get some gems as well), plus their production values were bad, which stuck out on a real network and may have turned off casual fans -
sounds great, cant wait for wednesday (I hope we dont sell them out), Then get it on Tuesday when it releases. yea, but I really hate going to the place I work on a off day, plus I would have to shell out 4 dollars in bus fare and Im a cheap bastard (well not really when you consider my dept. has a huge cut in hours this month)
-
really? i got the joke immediately since that was the last time we saw her, but then again that comes mostly from remembering that night, JBL pretended to be shot accidentally by a tranc gun by Amy to lure Big Show into a trap(in the process he tried to fight a blow up Godzilla)
-
because his opponent was Tatanka
-
my question exactly, Cole seems to like him and JBL hates him, yet Miz has faced all faces on SD and has acted "heelish" since he was dropped in favor of Todd to host the diva finals show
-
what you're surprised? wwe used to do this with anti -rock signs from 2001-2003 (remember there was a pretty big rock backlash after his face run started to grow stale in late 2000) I saw it personally. actually its the same thing especially with smarky fans. Cena was a darling of the net for most of his 2003 heel run, but after he turned face they started getting restless, then eventually turned on him totally in 2005. my point is smarks hate to cheer faces, period. It's like your favorite band, then nobody knows about, getting a big record deal and suddenly being on MTV and on the charts, now they're not "cool" anymore and "sellouts" most marks persay are younger kids and they mostly like cena, cuz the whole hip-hop/rap culture thing is "cool" to the average white kid now. I dont think they are many" marks" who are hating cena. of course the requisite comments about teenage girls (the same reason people started hating on the hardys in 2001) sure Cena can use a heel turn, if it continues this way hell get one, but not until after the movie comes out of course (big reason he isnt a heel, he moves alot of merc.)
-
yea especially when Cheech stayed on Come on, our paragon of virtue , our party host, we need you back, please save us from the hell wwe is becoming
-
never thought I'd hear the word "repotoire" in a rap song but here it is wow the 2 back up dancers idea originated in wcw (Remember the Funkettes in WWE?) anyhow, I hope he uses that song in wwe now good sign there(he should be in ecw no?), if he is half of what he used to be, hes still alot better then Mike Knox and Test "He's got rythym in his blood, does all the latest moves,he's his own man and he does his own moves(? what the hell does that mean?) who's his opponent, he don't care, like a gulf war brother he attacks from the air (who the hell wrote this song?)"
-
sounds great, cant wait for wednesday (I hope we dont sell them out),
-
or The Rollerball cast with APA? or Ashton Kutcher hanging out backstage at SD with E and C to promote dude wheres my car. or the weird dude who came out on wcw thunder once but then again we got Davide Arquette, WCW chamion, so all is not great

nice to see them stealing ideas from Eddie Guerrero/Big Show

OAO "Holy shit, Kurt Angle is in TNA now" thread...
Jericholic82 replied to Downhome's topic in TNA Wrestling
WOW, no wonder 411mania is having a hard time loading. damn Dont do it Kurt, dont wrestle, at least until you are better healed I guess we won't be getting that Angle dvd any time soon, or Kurt in the hall of fame the burial will begin on RAW this monday wow, at least the surprise lived up to the hype, can we now say we have a big two again? (probably not yetm but at least its a start) -
Watch it. Now, before it's taken down. My god I always forget how good that build-up was. In the main event/upper mid scene, the WWF did absolutely nothing wrong from about Summerslam 97 to Royal Rumble 99. As much as I hate Michaels, that ring pyschology where he had Austin tie up was exceptional. Not just the "this is it", but actually shoving the belt in his face? Brilliant. great video, I think I actually have this on tape cuz they showed it on the wm 14 free for all

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Jericholic82 replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Yeah I remember hearing about this newbits for years. Of course, WCW was really bad about taking care of their belts seeing how the tag belts had plates falling off and the WHC had a big dent at the top that never got fixed. Remember this rumor going around off and on for years and it doesn't shock me. And I was shocked that Yoko didn't go to WCW after Vince let him go and that Hogan didn't try to dig him up and pin him just to get his win back. Coming from a huge Sting fan: Fuck Hogan. Oh that Hogan always doing what's best for the company. He got all that and yet he really didn't do the job to Sting. so when eric bsichoff presented those things to hogan on the "nwo nitro" they were real gifts for a bribe eh? ha I never knew that story behind it man Hogan really thought he shouldnt job to sting? what an a-hole -
yea and they got up pretty quickly after vince talks to them and basically run to the finish

actually I found the celebrating to be quite fun. Why not celebrate? everyone else does it? sure they lost but hey its a relase of frustartion and tension form the whole season. It was a hard road and they really had to overcome a lot more they have had to recently with all the injuries and controversies with alex the partyying it was mostly that crazy due to the younger guys being there. Cano, and Melk being the chief partiers Though Randy Johnson stuck out like a sore thumb, being so tall and all (and I have never seen him that loose in his yankee stint , I mean he was actually similing and pouring beer on people ;he kept doing that to YES' Kim Jones for some reason, I think he likes her ) But then he gets all serious in his interview and mentions that they still have to clinch home-field advantage cuz its really important and all sure this is just the first step, but its fun for now and I wish espn and ny media would get off the alex talk, its a real bad time for this crap. Alex needs to learn to not talk to the media so much and choose your words wisely, too got to love it as yankee fan, as a hater, well thats your problem I suppose It's a celebration bitches come one, 7 wins away from the big dance and lets go mets, we want you in october

I got True Crime: NYC for only 6.76 at cc today with my discount havent played it yet, but what the hell its only 7 bucks
-
cant hogan ever wrestle without bandana on? what they cant animate his weird skullet?
-
sucks, I missed the last few shows due to working. oh well and I must disagree on arliss cuz I rather liked that show. but LL deserved more IMO
-
yea that got me too This weeks show was pretty good. House brng the awesome as usual. The fact that he came up with an idea on what was wrong with the patient by looking at the red thong was hilarious. Cameron was being very whiny and was getting on my nerves quite a bit, house putting a hand on her shoulder an dtelling her she did good was very out of character and a genuine emotional moment. You had to know the young girl thing was going somewhere when he mentioned to wilson (i think) something about "fantasizing about a patients teenage daugther" so this next show looks veryinteresting to say the least

Today at work (at Circuit City), I picked up with my discount of course: WWE Vengeance 2006 WWE Great American Bash 2006

Well, they just sold me SummerSlam. I never bought Cena's DVD, and getting both for 12.99 is an awesome deal, as is Pillman's as well--but I was already buying that one. How do you know these things, is why does CC all of a sudden (well, actually over the last few months) have WWE DVD's super cheap? I bet both Pillman's and SS go for 19.99 at Best Buy. the low price is only for the first week, then they will go to the reg price (all the other wwe ppv dvds here are 17.99 regular, and 2 disc sets like Pillmans are usually 19.99 reg price) Actually we already have next weeks ad in the store for the employees to look at and they indeed have both pillman and ss advertised. I work tonight and then dont work again till next weds (I told you guys they were cutting hours badly) so hopefully we have some copies left (probably as the recent wwe dvds havent sold that well here)the next day. Good thing Im getting paid today lol actually yesterday I got Vengeance 06 and GAB 06 for 15 bucks each with my employee discount (I figured I would watch those before I get the summerslam one) as well as a game for ps2 (true crime:nyc which is in the clearance bin for 8.96 but with my discount it was only 6.76, so I figured what the hell) pillman and SS since they are on sale next week I can't use the discount but they are alreayd pretty cheap anyhow so no big whoop. as a funny aside note, I saw some kid buy a cena dvd yesterday, I almost felt bad and was going to tell him about the deal next week, then I thought, "the hell with that, he may take a copy from me"

Was that the one he used on SummerSlam 92? It looked quite different, true, but that's the only time I've ever seen him wearing it. I THINK he also wore them at WM9 in the tag title match with IRS against Hogan/Beefcake...I can't quite remember. The suit was white that he wore, but the ring attire was his black ring attire. I've seen him wear them at another show, and I think it was Survivor Series 92 against the Nasty Boys & Natural Disasters, but it has been 10 years since I've seen that show so I can't be certain. I have the tape, yes indeed he did have the white outfit HHH wore the white boots at wm xx vs benoit and shawn Remember that Cade was trained at shawns brief lived wrestling school in texas anyhow, where did cena get his belt back(in kayfabe), didn't edge throw it in Long Island Sound last month? JR and Kind didnt even mention that.

Kinda dumb move, as Halloween is coming up lol but we all know that this gimmick didnt have a lot of lasting power. I mean he was very over so it worked out ok for him, but he is an older guy and not very skilled in the ring. At least he can say he had a succesfull if short run and beat 2 former (and future) world champions at big PPVs. Plus he performed a miracoulous succesful mole removal for Jillian despite the growth being linked to main arteries and such (she said that herself in her first month on sd with mnm) I always thought it weird that they kicked him out of TE for lying about his age, then immediately signed him. To think he made a bigger impact then the guy who won the event is very odd no? and the runner up is the only guy still in wwe (Miz) oh well, he didnt go to the doctor so he gets canned (maybe he forgot since he broke all the clocks in his house?) and the reign of Terror for Randy continues oh well hell be the star of my GM mode when sd vs raw 07 comes out (and dont think more people in the game wont be fired by release time)

Simpsons was kinda lame, the best part was Lisa catching Bart and the jazz guys in the attic with the animals and asking "what are you doing?" Their answer "Not smoking weed" "Ah it hurts where the tiger is biting me" AD was rather funny. Stan is comic gold. "Is the fat girl going to lead us to Debbie?" FG was pretty good I though. The radio gags were great and I enjoyed "The Peanuts Reunion" "I dont give a crap about Woodstock, but OH NOO SNOOOPY" War At Home was decent, glad to see it back this year though. Mikes revenge on his parents questioning was funny (but whats up with his hair? that new do is terrible), as was the terrible singing by the daughter Hilary. Rapparport is great and has fun with this role so I like the show
