I never knew he was called Kane ( I got into wreslting by wathcing survivor series, where he was just called Undertaker, and then didnt see superstars for awhile) , untill WWF magazine ran an article in early 98 about the kane-taker feud and history and kayfabed that Taker had originally called himself that in tribute to his supposably dead brother. Now theres some good continuity there (I wonder if thats why the decided to call his brother Kane in 1997, at first I thought it was a biblical reference) weird in this video the onscreen chyron says just the undertaker, and only in his interview does he or anyone call himself kane and that was cool, Howard Finkel breaking in with an ad for a local house show, for January 30, 1991 with the WWF champ Wariror facing Savage in a cage, though by the time that came up, Warrior had lost the belt to Sarge this match must have been taped prior to survivor series right? (you know the crazy tapings they did then) Alos it seems like Taker here was acting different then his official debut. I mean he moved faster and acted more "alive" I guess

I wish I had a vcr now. also cuz I have missed the last 2 episodes cuz of having to work nights

or ECW Extremists (ironic that in his "shoot" on raw Joey Styles made a big deal of wrestling and wrestlers becoming dirty words when he now proudly says extremists and plugs Cenas movie)

Forget the selfish part of us missing him. He needs to get his life together before we got stuck watching another "tribute" edition of RAW and SD. Plus WWE has to treat every "wellness" case like this, you can't just pick and choose cuz hes a top star. God speed Kurt and good luck Well miss you, but if you end up retiring cuz of this, but living a full life, it was well worth it, since your legacy in pro and amateur wrestling is already set in stone sad I missed that house show in White Plains, as it may have been his last match.

yep, it was just that his bearhug was dubbed the brock lock by cole first in 2002, it didnt last long. then again at least cole always remembers the names all of Matt hardys semi-finishers (like the side effect) come on, JR is still calling Edges ddt the Impaler, when it was clearly established in 2001 that it is called the "Edge-cution" then again no one remembers that Edges reverse x-factor type of move (that JR just says "he dropped the bottom out on them") is actually called "The Edge-OMatic" as dubbed by edge and christian in late 2000 oops sorry I started ranting on finisher names. back to topic, clearly most of the big names over the years have refused to accept that their time is over , and this will never change until Vince forces them to (I mean he screwed Bret didnt he, isnt it time he did it to someone like Hogan?)

Im guessing thats from Battlebowl, but only a guess. WCW had a great tag team division right up to their downfall. I think it was from sat night, cuz starrcade was on a weekday that year IIRC (actually pretty much Starrcade was always on a weekday, until 94 right?since it started as a thanksgiving night event in 83) I got to check my old 97 pwi almanac, damn whered I put it? wait now that I think of it, xmas day was on a friday in 92, so the 26th was sat, so it must be from sat night anyhow all these dvds sound great (especially the pillman one) , and now that I have a job I can finally buy them all lol and since I work at CC maybe Ill have my discount by then, plus the dvds are usually on sale first week here (like mcmahons was last week, now its up to 19.99 in my store)

I loved that. Stossel is the biggest douche on TV, even bigger than Geraldo. Why did 20/20 even bother on reporting on weither pro wrestling is "real" or not? Just out of curiosity, I posted a promo of Schultz's in the youtube thread, where I claimed to never have heard of him. I assume "Stossel Gets Owned" has something to do with it? That has to be one of the greatest moments in tv no? anytime I see Stossel on tv I think of this

Hope the Yanks can refocus following the long weekend, but it was worth it as a fan. Notwithstanding its always fun when they win the rivalry games, but its more satisfying getting a good lead in the division. Keep it that way guys. Whats up with the Lilly/Gibbons thing? crazy stuff

I haven't bought or played a football game since NFL 2k5 (which I still play my Giants franchise on) but since I work at Circuit City now, Im sure Ill see some demos maybe. maybe Ill rent it first for ps2
-
agreed. House and Bones are the only 2shows I know for sure Ill be watching, well except for RAW, SD, and ECW if its still on by then (which we would all think is true), plus TNA on thursday of course simpsons and family guy/american dad its always sunny in philly just ended its season actually, but I did watch it all this year but since I work now and alot at night, Ill have to tape all these shows

true, but I probably would want to see saw 3 as I saw the fist two (and the 2nd at the theatre actually)

USWA was bizzarro world in the mid-90s. Every face that Lawler was feuding with would come to Memphis and play heel to Lawler's face character. Even when Lawler invaded ECW, Tommy Dreamer would come to USWA and assume the heel role. lmao he even had Patterson with him as his stooge then but it made sense as in the WWF Lawler would make fun of Vince while they announced the matches, but Memphis probably didnt care about the WWF so hes still a face to them

cool, that was the debut of the dx theme and video bet Rude wasnt happy to be out there, if you recall I thing one of the reasons he jumped to wcw was cuz he was mad about the screwjob (which is why Bret had so much respect for him on his dvd ) "The WWF wasn't big enough for the Heartbreak Kid and Shawn Michaels" oops, maybe he wa stalking about his ego and him looking at this now, its not like they were "desecrating bret" or anything like that, although he probably was in his mind, on tv is came across as a typical heel promo and was totally in character for shawn Well, the week after that was the week he brought out the Bret Hart midget. true, but like I said it was in character for them to do that

Ratings and being a draw are two different things and to be quite honest, Danny Basham could've taken the title off of Cena and everybody still would've tuned in to see him. It wasn't about Edge, it was about seeing somebody not named John Cena as champ. The Flair match did well because people wanted to see a spotfest. Still isn't really proof that Edge is a draw. yea plus on the night after his win, he promised a live sex celebration. so of course you got a few peoples attention however he is the only real top Heel Raw has created in years, and he is good as a cocky heel so I give him that.

agreed on foley there Eric. Typical Vince Russo-esque swerve (and how can it be a heel turn if foley and melina were heels? suppose its a face turn for Mick, though it would seem he was right abotu Flair all along and he was the face in the feud) anyhow its always fun to see Vince and Mick interact quick thoughts: Why is JR always pissed when Vince hurts DX or has them beat up? theyre asking for it Didnt the dx spraypaint on Titan Towers happen like last month (it was on wwe.com no?) Shawns ridicoulous overracting is actually entertaining. I guess his arm is alright after all? Unless they pretaped this all last month or somethin Belt into the water, havent seen that in awhile at least Edges belt is just the same spinner belt with the ww logo taken off I was happy at first, finally Edge getting rid of cenas custom belt, but I was hoping for a new title, maybe the return of the Attitude era big eagle title. Why do a 2 min IC title match? Victoria busted out her old ring outfit, cool At leats they are hnot completely burying Trish and letting her get a slight push and good farewell (excpet for the fact that she keeps getting interrupted in the ring, but for once the face didnt hang around in the ring when the angry heel comes out, even if it wa just Vince and Shane) Eugene still has the green paint Vince and Shane threw on him on his boots, tights, and jacket. Nice Touch

is it me, or was Austin getting a decent reaction from the crowd there? I mean he was mostly getting booed, but seemed to have his share of fans. or maybe its just the footage quality. Pillman was having a great time out there, you can tell how excited he was, and how much fun he had. Sad to watch now. anyhow thanks for posting the match, as I havent seen that since it aired. PS, Howard Finkel with Cowboy Hat:
-
yea remember at uncensored 96, the announcers kept asking where is pillman cuz he was supposed to be in the doomsday cage match? this was after he had already left the company no?
-
I remember when I finally beat TMNT 2. I actually beat it afew more times after. Man I wish I still had it
-
So why does he like HBK? interesting point, but I would think he made some kind of money for vince. I mean back in the mid 90s face run he had to move a lot of merchandise no? plus the dx stuff (well not todays version)

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Jericholic82 replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
I was just thinking while watching Impact, remember at the end of WCW, the announcers started to call Booker T's scissors kick, the "ghetto blaster"? (like Bad News Brown) -
cool, one of my classmates once did a powerpoint presentation on 2pac in our computer class. and my friend did one on Kurt Cobain(and he got in trouble cuz one of the lsides he put in a picture of Debra from WWF in a pose with a bikini on or something, writing "his kind of woman" on it), I picked Mick Foley (mostly cuz this was right when he retired in 2000 after losing to HHH)
