    Good shows gone bad...

yeah it got really stupid when thye had Urkel have a transformation chamber, a cloning machine, a teleportation device, etc. then it moved to cbs and they replaced Harriet with a new actress, and had Urkel get together with Laura.it was pretty unwatchable by the end. by the way we all know about the youngest sister Judy just dissapearing, but what happened to Rachel? suddenly she was gone but her son Richie was still living with the Winslows as for MWC, I actually liked it bettre in its last few, goofier seasons. then again Im a bigger fan of the Jefferson era than the steve one. I used to watch Boston Public all the time and was sad to see it canceled out of nowhere and no finale to be had. The lipschultz character was pure comedy gold. and dont deny the genius of the "smell that shoe" lady.

    Good shows gone bad...

I disagree, well only cuz I only started watching it in the next to last season.

Did the US actually ever land on the moon?

I can believe it was a hoax. I can't be sure about it, but it sounds plausible since it was 1969 and all. If we did fake it, too bad the Soviets bought it. lmao
  4. Angle faced Hogan in 02 at King Of The Ring, winning by submission with the anklelock, now I never saw the match so I have no idea how it was. Hogan vs Flair at wm 8 was the natural money match for the show. Falir in his book claims that wa sthe plan as well. then there is talk of Sid being guaranteed the wm main event vs hogan before signing with WWF. Now I guess we can't complain cuz Savage-Flair was a great match. but too bad the buildup seemed thrown together out of nowhere (though flair learning savage is his opponent so he starts mindgames wiht him and liz, wasnt too shabby) As for other dream matches, Shawn vs Sting, Sting vs Rock, DBS-Dynamite Kid in wwf (I know they feuded in other feds but I meant a bulldogs split and feud in wwf), Bret vs Sting (back in 92 maybe, their 98 match I hear was bad)

    10th Anniversary of NWO Formation

yea thats it in a nutshell actually this does make me feel old. what makes it weirder is the fact that my grandfather died a month after the hogan turn so I can't believe it has been that long. Plus it happened in the summer before my freshman year of HS. this was a great angle. It had me hooked from the moment Hall showed up on Nitro. (I knew Hall was leaving WWF since i had read it in a magazine, plus it was obvious since he dissapeared from WWF tv after the April PPV. I figured Nash would be next and he was. I have said it before, but I thought the third man would be Sid since he dissapeared from the WWF after that Raw Bowl on new years. I kinda hated the nWo since they were the bad guys after all and I was still quite markish even at age 13. I wanted to cheer for Nash and Hall since I liked them in the wwf (hey I was a big Diesel mark during his face title run) the angle was fine, but IMO would have best be ended with Sting beating Hogan cleanly at Starrcade 97. That should have started the end of the nWo and they kind of did that with the nwo faction war, which was fine for what it was since the wolfpac was way over with the wcw fans. No real blowoff to the angle and later rehashes (like nWo 2000 with Bret leading it) in both wcw and wwe kinda ruined its legacy, but no doubt we will be talking about this for a LONG time to come.

    The Old School questions thread

Yep. yeah they were his friends. Foley said so in his book too. Joey Abs was an actual wrestler they brought up to help out the non wrestlers learn how to work

Comments which don't warrant a thread

That was one kick ass promo. Fuckin' figures. why did they hat eit? It was great. and you have to love Mick for taking time out in a serious promo to remind us he's a personal friend of Melina. that said, this was the promo that was needed before the vengeance match. I guess we will get a rematch soon though.

1000 Reasons why Late Night with Conan O'Brien

Oh man I was just thinking about the Carvey and Ritter show. Ritter was discussing how some people were pissed cuz of a threes company episode where Ritters shorts were so short his balls were sticking out . ritters response was great. then he and conan just acting goofy was wonderful. Cenas recent appearance was great. Calling sabu a genie had me rolling. and then he was asking about the u cant see me hand wave and saying thats a pretty cool move, he becomes instantly invisible.

Chappelle's show - The Lost Episodes

it was a ok show. It was great to finally have new material, but it lost its edge having not been shown until 1 year later and all the stuff with dave leaving.kinda hard to enjoy. at least Charlie and Donnel gave props to Dave helping them become known. the money sketch was okay, and i ked his revenge on that girl and comedy club guy sketch too (come on he pulled a Snitsky and punted the baby ) but obviously The 2pac skit was classic. "I wrote this song along time ago....."

    The Old School questions thread

wow I dont even remember that, show syou how exciting wcw was in 99 (then again wwf was just as bad, well wrestling wise-at least wcw still had good CW matches) DDP actually kindsa turned heel before he won the title, he returned (he ha dleft after superbrawl when scott steiner beat him up) at a nitro in march or april and had an attitude and didnt like Tenay caling him "the peoples champ" (which they had been calling him for along time when he was a face) He fought Hogan that night and junk happened. after he won the title he faced steine ron nitro, so he wa stsill sorta face, but basicall was full heel after that, leading into Slamboree against Nash-who turned face for this yes it is complex

    SNME

this sucks, in NY sd is prempted due to the yankee game being on upn, so theyere going to show it sat at 8, directly against SNME. what dumbasses, bu tI suppose channel 9 has no idea about the other show and the fact that they will lose ratings

    WWE announces 2006 DVDs

Personally, I'd be happy if they released the Heatwave and the N2Remember boxsets. They'd obviously edit the music, but I'd settle for having the matches intact. not to mention the language, unless WWE actually releases an MA rated dvd (well outside the ris eand fall of ecw)

    WWE announces 2006 DVDs

I just read on 411mania, that WWE is planning on box set sfor Royal Rumble and Summerslam, based on the scucess of the Mania set. This is awesome! Though if they edit all the themes again, many wil be pissed.

OAO ECW Week 4 on Sci-Fi, July 4th

what did you guys expect? I mean we know they had to get rob off tv and the belt off him, so this was the way. I guess you hate it cuz its show. But show as a dominant heel champ can be very ineteresting. Have him destory everyone for a few months, then RVD comes back and beats the odds to regain (or maybe even Angle when he comes back) The only thing is, is Heyman supposed to be the owner of ecw on tv or not? I dont think so sicne its been clearly said that Vince brought ECW back. So he is just a manager I guess, but then how can he make 3 counts? Paul back to his roots as a heel manager can be interesting , and at least it has continuity in that Heyman used to be shows agent. this can be like shows 2nd wwe title reign could have been if they didnt have to job him to angle within a month. shows initial heel run on SD was the best of his WWE career IMO if you dont like it, dont watch it. everyone keeps saying theyere going to stop watching wwe, and they never do (well at least not all of them). I am trying to just enjoy whatever they give me, you know like we all used to.

    WWE News and Notes

Yea I have that mag. Actually I got to see Joe as a rookie in UIWA in 00-01, which used to run shows in my home area of Ventura County, CA. Back then he was part of their tag champs as Samoa Joe (always used that name) with Partner "Foob Dog" (another generic samoan guy who resembled rikishi a bit) as "The Island Syndicate" I have programs with his pic son them too. I don't rmemeber seeing him and thinking he was going to be a big star, nor do I remember him being alll bad-ass back then (but again that was a while ago) so I was really shocked when I started reading about him online in like 04 and everyone making a big deal out of him. It's kinda cool to know that I saw him when he first started. I got to meet him and the other wrestlers after the show and was really nice to me. that I do remember

    Saw a car accident

when I was in like 9th grade, I was waiting for the bus at the stop, annd checking out my math hw, when this car came barreling down the intersection, trying to beat the light I guess, and slammed into another car coming straight. The guys rim came flying off and rolled down the hill a bit. No one was hurt too bad I dont think, cuz I left right after. once I was in my dads office at his job, and we suddenly heard a loud crash. Some idoit drove his new car into the side pole and wall there. The guy wasnt hurt but was crying and freaking out about his car.

    Heads Up

i saw it monsters on maple street is afav of mine, mostly cuz in 7th grade, it was in my english book and we had to read it aloud in class like a play. then we did a HW paper, where we had to write a new scene for it, after the final part. I still have that paper somewhere, I'll post it If I can find it. nightmare at 20,000 ft is of course a classic too, even if the monster looks really lame. I just saw the one where the crook dies and goes to what he thinks is heaven and cant stand it because he can get everything he wants so he is bored, so he wants to go to hell and it turns out to be hell. good one To serve man is great, if only cuz the aliens have what looks like giant asses on their heads.
