    What was your reaction to....

Goldberg- I was kinda expecting it since I was online at the time (though I still was kinda markish in my choice of who I liked, so I liked the face wolfpack too) and knew Nash was basically taking over the booking, plus they had Nash squash Wrath to end his undefeated (well since his return in 98) streak prior to ww 3 ppv. I thought this was leading to Hall turning face, and maybe goldberg turning heel but I was wrong. I had also just got a red and black nwo shirt so I was pissed when they became heel since it meant it wa sno longer "cool" to wear to school Radicalz debut-I was expecting it, since the net had reports of the guys checking into hotel rooms under their real names that day. I was writing an online column back then (when I was a senior in high school no less) and had just speculated on benoit and possibly other jumping to wwf in a prior column (Though I though Kanyon was leaving too) I was excited to see it though and marked out bigtime,I had always liked Benoit in wcw even before the net brainwashed me into liking him for his "workrate"

    Stupid and unimportant question

yea that ppv unscrambled for me too, but rescrambled during the HHH/Salughter match so that sucked. I thought it was spelled with the e originally then suddenly the tshirts changed to the hyphen. Hell I dont even remember the original shawn/hhh dx ever saying "suck it", but I first saw it on the shirts (and it said s*ck it, and me being dumb didnt know what it was saying)

    Best pitchmen

that was for Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain, I dont think they were implying he ate her, the game was the firts to feature bra and panties matches, so the implication was Brock ripped her bra off. Remember the No Mercy commercial? it featured the Dudley Boyz , but I forget what happened. Dlo Brown and Austin in a 1800 collect (I think) commerical in about 99 Rock in the Wrestlemania 2000 game commercial (he was pissed off about the game rock character ripping him off, and he complains to everyone about it, including santa claus in the bathroom stall. he was also in the first smackdown on psx commericial showing him checking into the smackdown hotel, it also featured kurt angle and edge spearing someone into a pool. Hulk Hogan in right guard deodarant commericials "Anything less would be uncivilized"

Best match you saw in person

Easily, Benoit-Angle at Unforgiven 02(not their best match but this was the only one I saw live and it was way cool and I was shocked the LA crowd was that into it, cheering for both men), though Eddie-Edge from the same night comes close (The live crowd seemed totally behind Eddie, though he wa sthe heel, but it was LA so who knows)

    Worst match you've seen live

Probably Kronik vs Native Blood at WWA: Revolution PPV just awful. actually there were a few awful matches that night. Devon Storm vs Sabu was 20 mins of crappy "high flying" (mostly blown) spots. Reno(from the natural born thrillers in wcw) vs Alan Funk (the former kwee-wee as the funkster- a hogan ripoff). Last WWE show I went to (RAW in august 04 the lita-kane wedding), had a unexpectedly awful Edge-Jericho IC title match that had a false finish, then a terrible dq finish (the ref dqed edge for dropping Jericho crotch first on the roopes- I mean what the hell is that about?) the whole show including heat had only 5 matches and none of them were any good, save for maybe the regal-flair match and even that was kind of boring.

    The Old School questions thread

Austin debuted the smoking skull belt I think at Fully Loaded 1998, Im pretty sure he had it the next night on raw (I have never seen the ppv) , but he definately had it before summerslam. Vince stole it after he ""lost" the title at Breakdown In Your House 1998. He got it back at Backlash 99 after Rock had stolen it. He lost it to taker at over the edge then regained it on RAW the night after King of The ring and the skull belt returned the next week. The last time it was seen? I believe Summerslam 99 when Austin lost the title to Mankind in a three way also with HHH. Next night on RAW Mick had the standard attitude era big eagle title, where he lost it to HHH for his first title regin and to end Micks 3rd and final reign. The skull belt hasnt been seen since. When austin won the title agin at wm 17, he had the regular belt and kept it during his heel run.

    The OAO 6/23 Smackdown Thread

agreed, but King Booker is the best gimmick/run hes had in 3 years. although they dont explain why Regal and Finlay are his friends (why would Regal like Booker anyhow?) Smackdown was great this week (I just saw it tonight, it was preemoted by the yankees game in NJ/NY) I almost thought Henry was going over there (to set up a Tista/Henry title program) Kennedy keeps changing his finishers every week, but I guess the "Kenton" is his new one. what happened to the samoan drop roll form the top? he did a standard version this week. JBL is funny on commentary (explaining how he was the leader of the APA and Farrooq always listend to him, had me lol) but has almost no chemistry with Cole, unlike Tazz. I still dont know why Tazz was needed for ECW (other than to authenticate it) Styles is better off calling the matches solo anyhow.

    Celebrity Jeopardy

It went something like that: That last one was where he Trebek showed an object, not asking a question. Trebek: I'm going to show you an object and you tell me what it is. Connery: It's a man with a mustache. Trebek: No. Mr. Connery....I'm not the object. I haven't even shown it to you yet. *Trebek pulls out a hammer* *Goldblum rings in and takes forever describing how in "ye olden days" criminals were placed on the device to be tortured* Trebek: You means the stocks, or a pillary. Goldblum: Yes! Trebek: It's a frickin' hammer!!! Connery: Now you listen to me Trebek! You wouldn't have known that if you didn't have those cards! I'm telling you the man reads from cards!!! That was from the awesome Jeff Goldblum, Minnie Driver, and Sean Connery episode. Among the great lines was: Trebek: You drink water out of *this.* Connery: A leather glove! great quote but you skipped "Minnie Driver" guessing what the object is right before "Conery" said you would have known that...... she said "Its a popsicle" and "Trebek" replied "Are you English, or retarded?"

My point exactly, vince is being really cheap here or the other WWF wont allow it for any cost

WWE Cancels 7/4/06 ECW TV @ ECW Arena

    The Dusty Rhodes Story

lol same thing happened to me at walmart this week I didnt get this dvd since I didnt have enough cash, so I settled for Judgment Day 06(it was only 15 bucks and the dusty one was 18, I only had 16 bucks left after buying a new pair of shorts )
  17. How did he "fuck it up?" They held the NWA and WCW World Tag Team Titles at the same time. Seemed like they were pretty successful to me. Just thought of another team...I liked Marcus Bagwell and the Patriot as "Stars and Stripes" in WCW, for some reason. I guess I was a huge mark for Patriot in GWF. yea GWF ruled in the day! speaking of which the Coast To Coast Connection team of Jack Tatum and Rod Price was a vefry good team IIRC They had killer music as well, I remember going crazy marking out when they turned face.
  18. They did get the duke over Hercules and Jim McPhearson . . . of course that's only 1/2 a name. But it actually ended up planting the seeds for the birth of Power and Glory. I like the Kato(Paul Diamond)/Tanaka version bettre probably cuz they debuted right around the time I started watching the WWF as for my best underrated team: 2 Cold Scorpio and Bagwell were a pretty good team I think

    ECW Videos

Try the ECW compilations that were released in '01. Extreme Evolution is probably the best, but the other three are great as well. Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka The Sandman vs. Raven Dudley Boyz vs. Balls Mahoney and Spike Dudley The Eliminators vs. Steve Williams and Terry Gordy Sabu vs. Taz Tommy Dreamer and Beulah vs. Shane Douglas and Francine Really can't go wrong with any of the matches on Extreme Evolution. I have the vhs version of evolution as well as Path Of Destruction which was pretty good as well

    WON WWE News and Notes

no one mentioned clueless Vince not having any idea about Pirates of The carribbean movie or johhny depps character. thats pretty sad, but it has often been said that Vince doesnt focus on anything but his company so he knows little about pop culture or movies. (Vince Russo even said he would turn down these ideas simply, cuz he never heard of them,so no one else must know them-the reaosn why Tom Green wasnt the guy behind GTV as Russo planned, and why the stevie richards and blue meanies' "blonde bytch project" was dropped) so Burchill's gimmick is over simply cuz he resembles the movie too much? poor guy at least he had a cool entrance and finisher

yea, but just reading wrestlecraps i nductions, they already did this gimmick with Droz in 99. Hell wcw did it with Perry saturn in 99 also. Poor Dustin, they should have put him on SD to be with Booker again (when they were onscreen at mania, the magic was still there and the crowd popped well)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. She was standing so fucking still, and then she moved which shocked the hell out of me. wow me too. crazy, but when she moved Id guessed that must be that Barbie chick they were talking about online.

Just Watched the Bret Hart DVD

that snot what they meant, they meant in the owen vs bret match form action zone they didt blur out wwf on the graphics actually I bought the dvd in april and it has the glitch in the hart/austin match, so I guess it was the 1st batch. no biggee fo rme . It can be found on the wm collection anyhow. and besides on the bret dvd, it ends as bret is leaving and doesnt even show the crowd chanting "austin"
