I have the Wrestlemania Anthology Collection

yknow I have the "legacy" set from 98 (the first version with 1-14, as another came out the next year with 1-15) and no themes are edited. even at wm 1(and the liberace song was New york, new york, so yea it probably is edited on the new dvd). I'm totally gonna have to transfer my tapes to dvds. Maybe Ill buy the set if it gets cheaper for the matches. I also taped live from ppv wms 13,14,15,17,18, and 20, and also have the Coliseum version of wm 10 quick question, on the x-seven original dvd, does it have my way?

  3. I used to have a few packs. I have a few cards right now that I found somewhere, its a couple of steiners cards like 2 or 3. and the morton figure is cuz Morton had tunred heel and joined the York Foundation as Richard Morton and he wrestled as a singles guy mostly. Yet he kept the same look. actually those figures dont look too bad

Best twist/swerve in a video game?

I agree on GTA SA. Ryder was iffy but Smoke was my boy I thought. Also for me I was shocked in Goldeneye 007 when Trevelan turned out to be both still alive and working for the enemy. Of course I was shocked only cuz I had never seen the movie (and actually I still haven't lol) Princess in another castle swerve....7 times yea! Lance Vance turning On Tommy V in Vice City, though it was hinted at very much, I was pissed that he would do that to Tommy

1000 Reasons why Late Night with Conan O'Brien

agreed 222. Jim Carrey calls Conan on his string dance and that he cuts the strings wrong, he should cut them below the waist not above. That was so absurd it was funny. 223. Conan drives a cab through NYC to help people during the Transit Strike.

Rise and Fall of the World Bodybuilding Federation

True, but ESPN and the like had to treat it as a relatively serious event for it to last and reach the average sports fan. I remember the 2nd week, a game with the LA team winning in the closing seconds, maybe overtime on a long pass. The ESPN co-anchor said something to the effect of wow, the crowd's excited, the players are excited, maybe this league has some potential...I could just hear the other anchor getting an earful through his earpiece, because he came back with some smart remark how the receiver catching the ball didn't last in the NFL. It wasn't the NFL and never pretended to be. Their hyprocrisy was proven when the Arena league and World league began getting national airings regularly, and were promoted by networks including ESPN as "a fun alternatives to the NFL during its offseason" when the XFL was called garbage. Most of the bad play took place in the first two weeks. No random 50 NFL players could be thrown together and be polished, and when the XFL couldn't have polished teams-including some players that had been out of the game-in just a couple of weeks they were blasted for being second-rate. Exactly, they never gave it a chance simply cuz it was Vinces league

Who came up with that gimmick/angle?

Jeannie Clark is her name, she was Chris Adams ex-wife (and was introd to wrestling after Austin turned on Adams, who was his trainer and mentor down in Texas) as for the stone cold name, Austin saw a HBO special on a killer called The Iceman and that made him think of a new gimmick of being a cold-blooded heel with no mercy. thats when his wife suppposably said that. Though for some reason I swear I can remember one announcer (maybe Vince) saying that he was a stone cold person (this was during the time when he was still the ringmaster), Hell they made no big deal just one week on RAW they called him Stone Cold Steve Austin (the first time they mentioned his actual name in WWF since before he was just "The Ringmaster")

    Bloodsport: ECW's Most Extreme Matches

wait they have the 3 way dance from Barely Legal, but not the title match vs Raven? I know what youve sai dbaout raven beiung in TNA, but it seems pretty incomplete to have that match, and not the followup. Hell that would be better than the lame Tapei death match (it was on the Path of Destruction dvd/vhs along with the tv title 4 way), which sucks IMO

Matt Cappotelli has a brain tumor

Don't forget Matthews. Unless you were refering to winners only. What happened to that one guy from season one that was the over-all favorite but got hurt just before the end? which guy was that? Greg? cuz if it was him then apprantly he is doing indy shows or something, I found him on my space in the smartmarks group Josh Matthews. Josh wasnt hurt, he just lost

    The Old School questions thread

I think its the brand name, since IIRC his boots at the time also had the same intials on them. and "the kliq" was shawns name for his fans in 96, "the clique" was hbk/nash, hall, hhh, waltman. I know this was from a few pages back, but I know the answer, and it isn't "The Kliq". "T" and "K" stood for Themis Klarides, his girlfriend at the time. The fact that he lovingly kissed both gloves and one of them had a heart on it should have given it away. She was a fitness trainer and attorney who was one of the RAW ring girls (who paraded around with the signs in between matches) for a while as well. She was featured in WWF Magazine a couple of times. Shawn gives her credit in his book for helping him get in shape for the Iron Man match at WM XII. Ironically enough, she is now a state representative from Connecticut: http://www.housegop.state.ct.us/members/klarides.htm Finally some clarification. That has to be it cuz the clique was spelled with a C, Kliq was the onair name for shawns fans (they started referring to them as such in early 96 when he won the rumble) I am watching the 95 rumble match on wwe.com 24/7 right now and he indeed has the TK with hearts and he kisses them.

Comments which don't warrant a thread

But I think its different with Eddy than say owen. Eddy was very popular with the majority of fans at time of his passing. But I see your point, anyhow Poor Tajiri couldnt even get on RAW for his finale and he still had to job (but that's the old tradition.) but at elast it was to Helms. He even got to say goodbye on the mic so thats cool.

Comments which don't warrant a thread

Watching Heat on WWE.com, inspired me to make this comment. Chavo Guerreo is hugely over as a face now due to Eddys passing. But the weird part is that they are still chanting for Eddy instead of Chavo. That can't be good. But why isn't on he on RAW now? Hell just ship hmib back to SD and give him a CW title program. Man Eddy is more over dead, then most of the guys on the WWE roster could ever wish to be

1000 Reasons why Late Night with Conan O'Brien

I remember the pre wm 17 edition with HHH and in it Conan said maybe he could do a run in at Mania, and HHH said he could pick him up and hit Undertaker with his Huge head instead of using the hammer.

    King Kong

Saw it on Sat night on my b-day. The legnth didnt btoher me other then the fact that it was a 9:15 showing so it lasted past midnight and I was tired to begin with. I liked the action sequences for the most part. I actually liked the dino fights cuz Kong was busting out the moveset, with what looked like a snap mare and a pseudo-rock bottom. I'd probably have to see it again to really analzye it, but Im not sure if this is the type of movie you can watch multiple times. The effects were very good and the action was intense. all in all I enjoyed it enough and it was a fun way to spend 3 hours. This is definately one to see on the big screen with the surround sound theater speakers (I was hearing things BEHIND me a lot and it started to feel like I was there on the island) The island parts were great the NY parts seemd not to last too long at the end, but I thought they did a great job of recreating the depression era NYC. The Ice skating thing was a nice calm before the storm. I always wonder (even in the first film and remake) what they thought was gonna happen when they brung this giant ape to NYC? I mean didn't they think for a sec "what if he escapes ?" and why do they need to kill him, couldnt he just get a job at a casino? (simpsons reference for the uninclined) and maybe it was me, but I thought that Kong had jumped off the building at the end, or at least purposely slipped off to save Ann. The way it looked to me at least, at first and no I wont use spoiler tags here since everyone knows the ending to Kong by now any event I'm sure this will get a lot of oscar buzz and it probably deserves it.
