December 2005 WWE 24/7 Online Listing
Jericholic82 replied to MillenniumMan831's topic in The WWE Folder
was watching a random match (paisley and the artist vs candido and tammy from a nitro in april 2000) oh those were the days of 2 min mtahces and constant main event hype. anyhow it got me thinking about how stupid the whole "artist formely known as Prince Iaukea" gimmick was Though he did have a kick ass instrumental prince music ripoff theme. kinda weird to see Sharmell back then. -
The Story of XTREME PRO WRESTLING
Jericholic82 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Too bad there is no more XPW TV or we coulda seen some crazy skits of Black gloating about his victory in court. NC would be proud. So are there any good details on the case itself, I mean what caused the gov't to go after him in the first place (sorry I have no knowledge of the case) -
It was Jake Roberts who was attacking flair

wow just saw dusty and dustin vs dibiase and virgil from rumble 91 for the first time since that night. A great angle with virgil and ted there. The crowd was waiting for it all match. and when he finally stood up and clocked him with the belt, the crowd went insane. Great markout moment that is forgotten far too much IMO -

I just watched the hogan/sting vs flair/arn match. There was a very interesting angle going on there with Hogan and sting not trusting each other, as well as Luger trying to drive a wedge between them and only helping out sting in the postmatch beatdown. also the crowd (though it was in the carolinas) was WAY against Hogan, complete with hogan sucks chants (more noticeable at the end when mean gene comes in the ring), and when He got the alleged hot tag near the end, they were completely silent, then booed Hogan, as well as fervently cheering for flair. Its fun to watch. You can see why Bischoff decided that Hogan would be better off as a heel. -
Ok I got 83 points for sd with Rey(36), Lashley (20),boogie (15) and Orton (12) Kennedy being hurt ruined my week and I now am still behind in 2nd place. hopefully this final week with the ppv will carry me to victory but Im not counting on it or anything

I literally got up and yelled at my tv during the orton-taker silliness/ its been awhile since wwe got me to do that. I was mad that Benoit lost cuz he cost me on fantasy team AGAIN. AT least I know hell be winning next sunday. As for Boogie-Maul (as RD and Blade have dubbed him on wrestlecrap radio), I like him for some reason. Maybe its cuz that they arent pushing his character seriously,as I initially thought they would. If this was the 80s, hed be a main event heel, but now hes a cool mid-card comedy face/tweener
-
Madtv also did the EL asso wipo skits and skits with sasso and bret hart so not all bad
-
oh come on ms swan is funny, and I like stuart too SO SUE ME
-
he always talked like that, remember him saying "in the summerslam" or "in the survivor series" he stopped wearing the pink glasses after his heel turn on america in 97
-
"Whats the deal with Gilligans Island? I mean the professor can make a radio out of a coconut, but he cant fix a hole in the damn boat" I loved that one too
-
Thats partly because the FDA and the doctors and stuff want everything to be a disease so they can sell drugs, also people would rather say they are just sick rather than admit they are doing something wrong and that it is their fault (which is the point trey and matt made here IMO) anyhow i enjoyed the shows. The statue bleeding and farting had me ROTFL, I was expecting them to say oh its not blood its whatever but then they come out with a gold line like "chicks bleeding out their vagina is no big deal" DT was great, CT. Hero is the man period

95 had a good opener in 123 kid/hakushi, the bret-issac yankem match wasnt as bad as you would think either
-
My personal favs are 91 (th efirst one I saw), 98, 2001, 2002, 89 is really good, even the the main event isnt that bad, thanks to savage 90 and 91 are great markout shows, 90 has tornados shocker, and the Hart Foundation finally getting the titles backl after chasing for over 2 years. with 91 being important for me as it was my first and featured some big moments and memories like Bret winning the IC belt and Virgil upsetting Dibiase as well as LOD finally winning the tag titles I have only seen to this date these events 88,89,90,91,93,94,95 98,99,2000,2001,2002,2004,2005 and have these on tape/dvd 89,90,98,99,01,02,04

How about Eric Bischoff breaking into the Mcmahon house and apprantly attempting to rape Linda back in 2003 after Kane had injured her with a tombstone on the ramp. This was another bad idea in the build for shaen/eric at summerslam. I meand He forced himself on her and kissed her IIRC so that seems pretty tasteless no?

Why is Carlito in Fucking Character in Afghanistan?
Jericholic82 replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
OJ has a finisher, the black out (downward spiral/flatliner/novacain/whatever you want to call it). Lately he has been using the move that many are reffering to as the lung blower. anyhow Carlito seemed ok to me. he was trying to have fun with the soldiers. He cant help that he has an accent right? Snitsky was totally out of character, though his voice is perhaps even weirder when hes not yelling. But the dude really needs to trim the goatee, I mean even Jericho wouldn't let it go that long. JBL was acting more like his normal self (and much like the old beer drinking having fun Bradshaw of APA) Anyhow at the least the wrestlers seem sincere about the show and entertaining the troops and not just getting publicity (though WWE tends to overhype these shows and pat themselves on the back alot indirectly) -
I'm getting the special magazine pretty soon so I'll post wether I feel it's a good magazine or not. If it's in the same vein as the special Shawn Michaels mag they did a while back then it could be pretty decent. $50 for the combo? I don't know. If you order thru WWE Shopzone you get the combo for approx. $26 plus shipping to wherever you are, and I have to believe there's no way in hell they'll charge $24 for S&H to Mexico, so that's probably your best bet (unless you can't order by credit card.) Ese es mi consejo, mi cuate. I picked up the mag the other day. Its ok but pretty pricey at 6.99. The poster is ok. The mag has a pretty decent longish interview with Bret and a look at some of his best matches that are on the dvd. There is an article on Montreal of course, but they basically tried to stay in kayfabe and tell the story at the same time so it was kinda funny (vince was afraid bret would take his belt to WCW so he had ot make sure he would lose, it doesnt come out and say wrestling is scripted or anything) Another article on his family and early years, which is cool. Theres alot of cool pics in here as well, including many early shots of bret and anvil in the HF. His interview was the best part. He notes that he doesnt blame Goldberg for the concussion and feels bad about it cuz Bill is such a nice guy. Talks about wanting to do this dvd so the people would remember him and as a thank you to his long-time loyal fans He wanted to do it in 99 after owen died he talked to vince in calgary sitting on a park bench, but later on vince seems to forget about that part of the talk. and how he wasnt as bitter as many would think after that, it was more his sisters and owens wife, and how he warned vince about them wanting to sue and how he didnt want to seem like he was trying to get info from vince to use agaisnt him. very interesting all in all, a nice companion to the dvd (which I havent seen yet so...)

wait so the show raw tape din afghanistan is going to air the monday after this coming one? Oh good, cuz I thought I had made a booboo and missed another deadline. cool so who ya gonna pick for the final week with the ppv and all? I think ill stick with Randy, as I would think since he is supposed to be getting a title push in the next year that hell beat Taker in HIAC. show/kane vs rey/tista? not sure who I should stick with but for now Im sticking with show and kane and rey on my team, as well as mnm(tag defense vs mexicools on ppv, i bet they retain here), not sure if benoit/book will be on the ppv but youd have to think so. Ill prob change my team again by monday anyhow I got a whole whopping 85 points on raw after such a great week last week, this week looks bad, considering I stupidly picked up boogeyman and kennedy (who promptly got hurt).

I know what you meant, what I was doing was agreeing with your statement, sorry I should have just said that flat out. one more thing to add Foley showing the bischoff/steph kiss from halloween is weird, considering that steph seemed like she liked it back then (an angle that was completely sropped the next week), it also reminds us of the fact that steph used to be SD gm (and remember she was fired when she lost a match to her DAD whome she was feuding with in 03) and since they have made no effort to explain why daddy and daughter have made up, it was kinda weird to see.
-
weird, I just got the new holiday sd mag with her (w/ stacy and melina) on the cover. the prob with her is that they moved her to SD where there is no womens division, if she stayed on raw shed have a place. all she had on SD was to be a manager (and she was kinda to LOD ) Have to think stacys job is in trouble too then right? (probably not)

wow so the real issue about the logo thing is that the other WWF felt that the block logo didnt look too much like the letters wwf but the scratch one did? "since at least 1997 the Federation has simply ignored the contract. In particular with its adoption of the website address www.wwf.com in that year the Federation has more or less used the initials at will and on an increasing scale. It also dropped the block logo and went over to what was called the "scratch logo"…To my eye it is more obviously the initials than the block logo."
-
If they can still use the wwf initials in the us and canada, then why are we still getting edited dvds and such?
-
actually the crowd seemed apathatic when vince asked if they wanted to see the chamber again. weird, but funny. As it was it was very enteratining to me for a change. Foley was gold, come on MOON PIES you gotta love that.
