Just Watched the Bret Hart DVD

local targets here never have wwe dvds, but their website sells them oddly. I did watch eddies dvd last night before raw, mostly the los guerreros vignettes, and then yes the feature. (I broke down when Dean Malenko said he went to JR to intervene for Eddie, "cuz he didn't want to hear about his freind Eddie being found dead in a hotel room somewhere")

    Eddy Guerrero passes away

well I was just trying to be nice guys, if there is a heaven I know Eddy is there, likely reunited with his father. sorry if my lame tribute line offended someone. this sucks Thank you Eddy fo all the memories.

    2005 Spike TV VGAs

Too bad WWE isnt on spike anymore so they could have alive match at the awards like they did in 03 huh? at least it would make me sit thru the show.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Im not offended by that how could they have known? I mean WWE just did a on air storyline in which Randy Orton attempted to MURDER Undertaker by burning him alive, Yukes was trying to make the game realstic to the real WWE. Actually its too bad there not more time, so they could have dedicated the game to Eddy, like Acclaim did for Owen in WWF Attitude.

I think that was the unforgiven match I was at right? That was pretty cool. even better was the enitre staples center cheerign for the heel Eddie (and not just the latinos) I must agree with his retun on the first post Brand split Raw as well

    Eddy Guerrero passes away

anyone else flip through the local news and cable news channels looking for any mention? I did last night and today, it was on the crawls of several of the channels and such. Actually when there was no mentions, I almost felt angry that someone would ignore this (but hey this is pro wrestling not exaclty a big news in mainstream) MSNBC had a piece on him earlier today showing the fans at the taping last night, later they had a live interview with JBL, who paid tribute to Eddie and gave him credit for making him a main event wrestler in WWE (he claimed Eddie went to management last year when there were worries JBL couldnt work a main event with him and gave him his approval and stuck up for him). This RAW is going to be as hard or maybe worse than the Owen show to me. I'd like to think that somewhere above Eddy is tagging with Art again in the main event, with his dad in his corner.

    Smackdown VS Raw 2006

Ill use eddy too, btw which music is he using? the heelish lie cheat steal one? thankfully it still has the lowrider entrance. wm 9 arena uses the wwe legend block logo instead of the old wwf block logo, lame since they can use it.

What was the real reasoning behind the IC title 02

I woudl say they turned face with their breif feud vs john cena and b2. after that they were liked by the fans and were basically faces by the time they lost the tag belts to team angle.

yknow I dont think I can watch his brock match again due to brock yelling "die eddie, just die" when Eddie wouldnt give up. surreal now. But I agree with alot of your moments. Another one was on a sd after summerslam 00 before he and chyna broke up, backstage Chyna is mad at eddie, thinking he cared more about winning the ic belt than her, Eddy goes on a tirade asking how dare she question him when he gave up so much and his friends and all to be with her. She was in tears by the end. He even dropped the accent while yelling. Great moment, I taped it and watched it alot later on. When he lowblowed Rhyno and then acted like he was hit low when the ref turned around, both guys fell to the ground holding their groins at the same time. wm 20 match finish with angle grabbing the boot loose and Eddy rolling him up (and hooking the ropes for the hell of it) his first wcw match that I saw on sat night vs Jushin Liger, winning with the frogsplash , I was amazed by the move. Clash of the champions august 96 vs DDP for the battlebowl ring. Eddy comes out of nowhere to beat Page, shocked me well enough. returning from injury in 97 and turning heel by costing Malenko the us title. Making Chavo wear cheat 2 win shirts and the first family feud. one more not well known, when the nWo laid out rey and company backstage at disney, Eddie asking Rey how many guys and Eddy telling Sting there were "4 ". I dont knwo what made me think of that, but there it is. The Beatdown of Tajiri after they lost the tag titles, because Tajiri messed up his lowrider, to start the heel turn that wasnt cuz the fans still cheered him (along with the el paso SD ovation) Spraying car wax in Benoits eyes . Coming out in a lowrider for the frist time with chyna, and backlash 00 when he showed up "from the prom" and wrestled in his tuxedo pants and bowtie. and one more for Eddy stealing Rics number (and wallet too) at the rumble (Eddy was no 1btw) Long makes Eddy give back number, then looks at him still and holds his hand out and goes come on, and eddy is all like "yea man slap me some skin" and hi fives him, before long insists and he reluctantly hands over the wallet. I wondered how did Long know?

The Impact of Eddy's Death on the WWE

probably not too much as remember that Brian died the mrning of a ppv and they went on with the show and didnt get too m uch backlash then

    Eddy Guerrero passes away

I understand that Matt (I first got to know of Eddy when he came to wcw in 95 actually so similar here) , Its like we feel connected to all of our heroes like this, epescially in pro wrestling. It seems like a family almost. Geez I can't even believe this. I got to see him live twice, ist at the wwa ppv in vegas, during his comeback before he got resigned in wwe, and the last at unforgiven 02. I was mad last year when I didnt go to judgment day and get to see him as champ. Great memories, the lasting image may be the wwe title win or wm xx. To me it was his first wcw match on sat night, he hit that frogsplash and I was amazed. I cant get the press conference video to work on wwe.com I guess its too crowded now. Well miss you Eddy.

    Eddy Guerrero passes away

To think he survived the horrible accident and overdoes and to just die like this(very much like Pillman actually). This happens too much in wrestling. Im still in shock right now but I know this is going to haunt me for a long time (not that that matters, who knows how his kids are doing) Would it be wrong to say that thankfully he was a face at the end instead of this happening during his evil heel run earlier in the year?

    Eddy Guerrero passes away

I don't know what to say. Damn I just picked him for my fantasy team oddly enough last night. RIP Damn this sucks Our last memory was him cheating to win wow Im pissed and sad at the same time, this is too much like Brian Prayers to his family
  16. I believe that he sent Hogan home to get the red and yellows after X-8, so he could have them for RAW. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hogan didnt have red and yellow for that raw, he came out in nwo gear, then rock made him tear his shirt, later on in the match he came out with the black and white boas and tights to "vooddoo child" or whatever its called. he didnt break out the red and yellow till the first split sd show IIRC, he came out for an in ring face to face with HHH (the match at backlash had been annoucned that night, changing from the orginal HHH-Taker match)) I have no further comments on brock-berg

The One and Only WWE 24/7 Thread

Yesterday I watched a bunch of stuff(including wargames 91). the best was HHHs early RAW matches including a squash vs a very young Jeff Hardy. Weird to see now, Trips was so much smaller before the roids. and that theme song is strange to hear now
  18. it was on sat morning again a few eps, then the movie aired. "I think you're supposed to call them "mentally superior or something" (B and B discussing what the PC term for retraded is while watching Basket Case by Green Day)

SNL Best of Commercials, right now.

Colon Blow is great. as is buckwheat. I watched SNL last night and it was funny enough. weird to see commercial spoofs rapid fire like that though. "Ingredients include an unknown green glowing substance that fell to Earth, presumably from space. DO NOT TAUNT HAPPY FUN BALL"

What were some great Sega Genesis games?

No, I agree. It is a fun game and it had decent graphics for the era and cool music.

    John Cena

the problem with cena is the same problem alot of guys have. especially with smarks. most of us cheer for the heels, just to be different and buck vince and laugh at the "marks". so Cena was a heel so we like dhim, then he turned face and all the kids like him, so thus we hate him. neutering his character has hurt, also his gimmick is old now. back in 03 it was something different (a serious white rapper gimmick- when he first got the gimmick it was basically comedy, I think we took notice when brock hurt him and he did promos against brock on sd. They were raps, but they were hard-edged and serious. Hell the FU name came about after one of these antibrock raps in which Cena said "Your finish is the F5, mines the FU! The evolution of the gimmick was big, and the gimmick was different than any other previous "white boy acting black" gimmicks, it was a serious one WWE doesnt know how to sell a babyface anymore. They dont get that you can be a face and still be hard-edged and not happy-go-lucky (like was aaid, take a look at Austin for example). Then they go ahead and book a austin-mcmahon retread with bischoff, and yet keep cena as this wussy smiling babyface guy. They should probably take the title off him soon.

Comments which don't warrant a thread

too bad his redebut in on wwe.com. Come one he couldnt even get a raw match? Sadly though, hell probably be the next guy released as his usefulness (selling hurricane merchandise to the kids) is now over. and his ring style is toned down even more now, interestingly, a more methodic, evil pace I guess.

Worst excuse to get out of a job/angle?

Well, for all I knew, you could have just been posting that to get a reaction after the "lost smile" posts. So, I'm glad you explained your actual reasons behind saying it. No doubt Vince was the mastermind behind it, but "he was doing what he was told" is a bit of a stretch, I think. I doubt Vince had to twist his arm. I didn't say "lives", I said "careers." Big difference. It's not a "huge" list, per se, but anyway: Shane Douglas (and a big ECW career hardly compares to that of one in the WWE) Bam Bam Bigelow was promised a ME push after jobbing to LT, and never got it due to Clique conflict Refused to job the title to Vader on two occasions, ruining any last chances to rebuild him after he was run out of WCW by Hogan & company Refused a program with Owen Hart after Montreal, Owen was promptly buried by HHH and never left the midcard afterwards Not to mention that everyone he's worked with not named HHH or Kurt Angle since his return has mysteriously descended into midcard hell after the feuds end. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To be honest , I feel Shane wasnt going anywhere with that "Dean Douglas" gimmick. IIRC the crowd didnt even give a crap what he did, he wsnt very over (and how could they, as mick foley said in his book were kids supposed to watch WWF and go "Hey dude there was this really smart guy on WWF lets go buy a ticket!_
