Yes, I watch Raw to watch wrestling, and I consider myself at casual fan at this point ... and watching Cena vs. Bischoff's stooges each week, or Jericho vs a ref, or Viscera being a sex machine, or Conway doing things the CON-way, etc etc etc is NOT the kind of wrestling that I care to see. If given the choice of watching near naked girls do stupid shit on TV, or watching near naked guys do stupid shit on my TV, I'll take the former pretty much every day of the week. And, RedJed, I don't dislike Raw because X-tian left (truthfully, I haven't even watched one minute of Smackdown since he went there) ... I stopped finding Raw enjoyable a long time ago. But when Christian was there I knew that I had more than one thing that was pretty much guaranteed to be enjoyable. Now all I have is Shelton, and he's stuck jobbing in stupid feuds.

Pink is NOT the new black

Good thing I gave up being 'in' for my New Year's resolution.
  3. I hopefully won't step on any toes with this, but the whole "I won't drop the belt in Canada" thing always kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I know that he was 'defending' his country in a 'war' against the American wrestlers ... but in the grand scheme of things it was just an angle. It's not like people could really say, "America proved that they had better wrestlers when Hart lost to Michaels."

Emo kids -- I need an FAQ

JD has an outside chance of getting pilfered, Laz ... I was at one of the hipster bars in Cambridge the other day and saw people that were borderline emo drinking Jack-rocks ... either they're too new to the scene to realize that it's not cool to drink, or they're on the forfront of the scene and by fall the best whiskey in the world will be embarrassing to order.

If even half of Ashley's excitement about winning the competition was real, I think the WWE did a good job with this one. They could use someone that's actually excited to be part of the roster. The fact that I dug her doesn't make me biased at all. Nope, not even a little. I'm already looking forward to next year's diva search. It's provided better and more consistent entertainment than anything else on raw in a few months now ... since Christian left, I'd guess.

Love the sarcasm but here's a comment thats not sarcastic... you're a moron. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't get why you think Max is being moronic. Are you saying that Arnott's NOT capable of more? Unless I'm confused, this conversation thus has evolved from Max being the one that's relatively down on Arnott to now Max being the one that says that he's capable of so much more. Personally, I think that his numbers were obviously going to be effected by playing in NJ, in that system ... but it's not like he started lighting the lamp at a 30 goal rate once he went to Dallas. He's a good #2 center at best in my eyes. /doesn't agree with the moron assertion, regardless

that segment desperately needed a Trish run in...that's all I was thinking the whole time...well, I was also digging Ashley's outfit... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The way that she was celebrating for so long after winning I first presumed a Trish run-in was on it's way ... but then I realized that 1) Trish might get a face reaction for being a Canadian returning from a long layoff ... 2) attacking the diva winner would get a face reaction regardless of who it was running in and 3) they most likely want to keep Trish as the #1 female heel for now. Wouldn't it make sense to make her a face again? Lita and Victoria are both heels ... leaving non-wrestlers as the only faces left.

Second verse, same as the first. EDIT: Dammit, this is the first post on a new page, which makes the post less sensical.

Emo kids -- I need an FAQ

Even if High Life wasn't dirt cheap it'd still be one of my favorite beers ... the fact that you can get it at next-to-nothing certainly doesn't hurt, though. /prefers bottles to cans, even if it's a bit more money

Careful, max, that kind of sounds sarcastic.

    Favorite Gimmick Match?

My favorite I-Quit matches are Flair/Funk and TA/Blanchard. Neither was overbooked. It's only the recent ones that became confusing, convuluted overbooked tripe.
  12. She should add God as a defendant as well ... he's the one that put the stupid river there in the first place.

Pabst. I'm just glad that the trend-followers finally abandoned High Life. I can finally drink my favorite cheap beer without looking like a starfucker.

What is Chavo's gimmick going to lead to?

Fans will dig him enough to force a face turn. H'll start to get over so they'll neuter the act and make him a comedy jobber to the other jobbers. And then release him.

    Favorite Gimmick Match?

Classic I-Quit matches, before submissions became so commonplace and before the gimmick was killed by being used in feuds that didn't warrant an I-quit stip.

The Penguins are going to be stacked ... but other than just a few young guys they're counting on a lot of older players to stay healthy. Leclair & Lemieux are definite injury concerns, and Recchi's not a young'un anymore either.

HHH now is officially part of creative team

EDIT: I've got slow fingers. EDIT #2: But they're faster than Malibu's!

    Shelly Smith from ESPN

While I have to admit that she has a kind of manly face, Sam Ryan is another woman reporter that I'd like to see more of. And this is a good of a time as any for me to pull out my favorite female sports reporter ... the lovely and talented Jennifer Hedger.

Does Jillian "Jiggles" Barbieri count as a Sports Babe? She does the NFL shows on Fox. Even with that fisheye, I'd throw it in her.

I have to admit a partial bias, as I'm quasi-related to Suzy Shuster through step-families and remarriages and whatnot ... and I know that she gets furious when people presume that women reporters sleep their way to the top. And I've read blurbs where legit women reporters blow a gasket when an unknown does something like sleep with a guy for a story or a job, since it makes them all look less credible. The thing that makes me laugh about Suzy, though, is that while she didn't sleep her way to the top, she did marry Rich Eisen, who undoubtedly helped her get her name out for promotions and whatnot. She was already working for ESPN when she met him, though, so she got her foot in the door on her own.
  21. So Hart could have shown up on WCW TV, just as long as he didn't bring the belt? /actual question, not an accusation or an argument. I don't really know enough about the legalities to know what he can or can't do
  22. Why could Madusa dump the women's belt on TV legally?

smh, it's a long leap from knowing someone and being attractive enough to get the gig to sleeping with someone for a job. I full-on agree that the first two are most assuredly criteria for getting a major TV position, especially the knowing someone to get their foot in the door. I don't agree, however, that women sleep with a guy just to get a job. And to say that a woman would prostitute herself out for a 'scoop' or interview is downright laughable, to me at least.
