Why would Ripper be a normal, non-jackass poster here for 3+ years and then all of a sudden make up a story? If he had a history of bullshit, which isn't all that uncommon for some people here, then I could see calling him out on it. But Ripper's never pulled shenanigans like that before.

While I recognize why people find the whole terrorist shtick distasteful, I think it's funny that people butter their bread on both sides. The fact that wrestling is NOT supposed to be applicable to real life is apparant when you look at who Hassan is feuding with: a guy that's evolved from a mortician to a dead guy to a biker to a dead guy (wait, he is still a dead guy, right?). Yeah, it probably does hit too close to home for some people, but there's something lik that EVERYWHERE. I have a friend that had to walk out of Gangs of New York because people were hung in it, and her brother had hung himself a few years ago and she'd found the body. Day in/day out someone encounters something that hits too close to home.

Agent, you think I have my moments but otherwise am just very forgettable. I was actually filmed for one of those Blue Blocker informercial testimonials at the Taste of Chicago, years and years ago (when I had my mohawk). They didn't use me though.

Hogwash. You can NEVER see "Office Space" too many times. That movie owns. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've never even seen it once. I tried watching it because I'd heard how good it is ... didn't impress me, and I didn't make it long into the movie. And I've seen bits & pieces on TV since, and found it to be pretty 'meh'. Maybe a case for "the hype was so much it couldn't help but disappoint" but ... you all can have your Office Space.

Plus the cold war really wasn't all that frigid by the time that Nikita went face ... it's not like he was a face in 1984.

Does anyone know who the person that Phineas Godwinn has tattooed on his left upper arm? It's bothered me for years, and watched the Godwinns/LOD match last night and it re-triggered the who-the-fuck-is-that?!? in me.

Thank you, Kahran ... I dig the fact that there's another person that admits that they weren't a Hogan mark. I HATED Hogan from the day I got into wrestling onward; I was always a mark for the heels, even as a little kid. Of course, even when Hogan went heel I couldn't find a way to root for him.

Because the heels clap their hands together really loudly, to make it SOUND like a tag. The faces make their normal, barely audible tag. And I liked the formula of the Road Warriors/Midnites tag match when the Warriors won the belts. Brutalize one guy to the point that he's almost out of commission; struggle with and then ultimately overpower the outnumbered partner; have the weakened guy tag himself in but ultimately lose because of weakened state. It made the Warriors look like dick-ish heels; the Midnites look like they had the hearts of warriors, and made for a good, quick match

One of the things that the Monday Night Wars taught me is that the opening segment will a) be someone talking, rather than something actually happening and b) be replayed ad nauseum throughout the show. No reason to tune in at 9:00 on the dot; you'll still get to see it at 9:15, and 9:45, and 10:30. I have to disagree with the "hotter" part ... Trish facially does very little for me, and the way she pushes up her rack doesn't wow me. I know I'm in the minority with this, but if you'd said Victoria instead of Trish, I'd have agreed whole-heartedly. And am I the only one that thought the Viscera thing wasn't funny in the first place? Let alone week in and week out.

Besides Rant's perfect response, let me also add that neither of those leagues added teams so fucking quickly. It was less than 40 years ago that they only had 6 teams. I remember when there were only 21 teams. So regardless of the fact that they're the one sport losing money hand over fist, they expanded WAY too quickly (and relocated WAY too poorly)

I don't think I ever had the pretense that it was real ... even back in like 1985 when I first started watching. I remember having conversations with friend's older siblings about it, and blatantly talking about how winners are predetermined and whatnot. Um, who says that any of those things ARE real?? One is a cartoon ... I'm pretty sure that no one is under the delusion that it's real. And it's hard to watch Springer and NOT recognize that they're actors at this point.

There's no way I'd buy a PPV for a match like Edge-Hardy ... I'd care enough to read about it the next day and see if anything unusual happened (shoot, working too stiff, etc). But anything worth seeing will be free online in like a day so why bother wasting the money? Was he popular with the smarks before this whole debacle? I thought that people dug the V.1 gimmick but not necessarily Hardy himself ... he got some "he's underpushed" love, but I never really thought that he was all that popular with smarks.

Someone ban Lushus ... it's obvious he's just trolling at this point. And I don't know if anyone's pointed it out, but the release says that "big" wrestlers, not big-name wrestlers, are getting released ... why do people keep naming CWs or average sized guys that could be in danger? I'd say the Heidenreichs/Snitskys/Tomkos of the world are in more danger than people like Nunzio, Richards or Nova (ugh, I can't call him Simon Dean) /and I'm kidding. Don't ban Lushus.

I'll preface this by stressing that I'm NOT a Lesnar mark of fanboy or anything, but I really think that a feud between these two, if handled right, could be one of the things that sets the wwe ship back to sailing straight. Batista-Lesnar on one show, and Cena as the centerpiece of the other, would be money. Who goes heel?

The thing about Brody was that he'd have fit in just about any fed in just about any era ... he could pass in a "pure" wrestling match, he could brawl, and for a 'wild man' he could cut a passable promo. I was always surprised that VKM didn't throw a bunch of money his way to have him be a foil for Hogan. (and, yes, I know that there was a rumor that he was going to do a shoot run-in at WM).

The thing that I didn't get about that episode was that they filmed the 14-year old (or whatever-year old) topless ... what kind of parent allows their daughter to go to her friend's parent's nudist colony and then get filmed partially unclothed? Bad parents.

Because Batista needs to win his first feud on SD! ... so rather than have him go over their best heel (Eddie) or another new guy (Christian) they can have him go over JBL.

I don't think any show on TV polarizes people as much as FG. Some people love it, some people hate it. Some parts that people say crack them up leave other people groaning. Personally, I try watching it each week and just don't find it consistently funny ... some parts are Ok, but some parts just seem like they're weird for the sake of being weird, if that makes sense.
