I fucking pray that you're a gimmick poster ... did the NHL pick him as the poster boy when he was lighting up leagues as a preteen? And during his teenage years? And in the WHA? Was it all an elaborate ruse, planned a decade+ in advance in order to raise the NHL to the ranking of "4th major sport" in North America? And did every goalie just allow his shots to go in, or the shots of players that he passed to? Nice fucking acting, looking like they're trying to make saves while purposely letting goals in. No, I really didn't miss the whole point of the thread ... I just think that it's astounding that a hockey fan would hate Gretzky at all, especially for no reason. It'd be one thing if someone had a reason (like I said, Oilers fan that was pissed about the trade, or a fan of another team, say Calgary, that lost to the Oilers so many times ... something like that) ... that'd be a legit reason that I wouldn't scratch my head over. But to just say, "he's a pansy and I hate him" strikes me as strange. As they say, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

While I doubt that it was their intention, they're most likely going to get a Godfather-type of reaction/situation from this. (as in the Hooo-train/pimp, not the mafia movie). Midcard at best, losing more often than winning, killing just a few minutes of time. But someone that gets a pop from the fans and is used for a change of pace. I don't necessarily like it, but it's not overly offensive to me.

One might argue that he played too long, but other than his last two years with the Whale, he averaged over a point-per-game ... over-rated? Hardly. Orr: Hmm, redefined the way defensemen played the game. But yet was in a commercial he didn't like so he's hate-able? I'm really not trying to change anyone's mind, but it's just astonishing that someone would have such flimsy excuses to "hate" three of the hockey players that would be on the "Mt Rushmore of Hockey", if such a thing existed. If he'll hate Orr for a commercial, and Gretzky for being "a pansy" then I wouldn't be surprised if he hated Mario for some petty reason.

I agree that it's a pretty bad-ass move not to blow smoke up the jury's ass ... but for a million dollars, I'd have said just about anything to try and get their votes. She already knew that she had Coby's (well, that Coby was going to vote against Tom) so if she could get Janu or Caryn to vote against Tom, too, she'd be thisclose to getting the million. I think she knew that second place (and 100k) was as good as she was going to get, so she just accepted it.

No, he didn't vote FOR Katie. He voted AGAINST Tom. I think he even blatantly admitted. Shows how piss-poor of a F2 it was: 6 people that voted for Tom and one that voted against ... Katie was just there. It could have been Tom versus a pile of rat-dung and it would have been the same. NYU, no, I lost respect for Ian, too. He was spun in such circles by Tom & Katie those last 2/3 days, I don't know how he can face himself in the mirror. Having said that, though, I think that there's a chance that he knew he couldn't last much longer on the buoy, and knew that Tom was going to pick Katie for the F2 anyways, so he came up with this scheme to get back in his "BFF"s good graces. And count me as among the ones that wouldn't do well on Survivor. I'm too loud & outspoken (and sarcastic and generally unlikable). I'd be one of the ones that pissed people off early, and would probably not make it to the merge. If I could make it that far, I'd do reasonably well (I think that I could hold my own in a few of the immunity challenges) ... but unless I alligned well, I'd be fucked.

I admit that I'm a bit biased, as I am a fan of his work, but he could have had a few world title runs if wcw didn't go under. I presume you mean the Nitro-era TV title; earlier, the title was treated pretty well. People like Dusty, Nikita, AA, etc (basically, mid-carders and above) held the belt. It was only later that the title was wicked devalued and treated like a joke.

I didn't watch much Amazing Race, Starv, but I did see some on the commercials and those "Best Week Ever" & "The Soup" kind of shows ... and from what I saw, she did look pretty cute. But that reinforces my point: she looks better when she's not all 'fancied' up than when she is.

I love how Coby got voted off for being so blatant about plotting against people, but yet continuously says it's because he was such a threat. Who does he think he was a threat to? Katie's a bitch for boo-hoo-hoo-ing all over Ian and basically guilt tripping him into quitting, even though she - more than once - had tried to plot against him. Plus, how is it that Ian looked like a Holocaust survivor yet Katie managed to get fatter as the 39 days went on? Tom might be the most worthy winner in the show's history ... he was the leader of the dominant team and then dominated the individual immunity challenges. No one other than him deserved to win. Steph joins Amber in the "smoking hot while on the island but much less hot when she's made-up in real life" category. And, please, don't post those Stuff Magazine pictures of Amber as 'proof' that she's really hot; with the airbrushing those magazines use, I'd be a hot girl. And I have my head shaved and a beard.

I think Jenn beats Katie in the finals, if it's the two of them ... Gregg would vote Jenn for sure, and Janu/Coby/Steph likely would. Plus, if it gets down to the two girls, both Tom & Ian would probably have been screwed over by Katie to get there, so they'd vote for her, too.

How long have porno stores been selling good paraphenelia? I was killing time because my friend's flight was delayed, so I had an extra hour before picking her up at the airport ... what better way to kill time then wandering around the porno store? Berard's still had a decent NHL career, though. The only thing that might be true is he might have dropped from a 1 or 2 defensemen to a 3 or 4 defensemen. Probably cost him money more than anything else.

There was a numeric coincidence with the number on the hatch, too, but I can't remember what it is for the life of me ... I think the ID # on the hatch is the same number as Hurley's winning lotto numbers, but I'm not 100% certain.
