If this is actually a Smackdown thread, rather than just a Cena debate, I'll ask here ... does anyone think that "Nitro" could be made into a credible mid-carder over time? Now, I'm not thinking he'll be another Michaels or Bret Hart, but it seems like he was doing enough of the small things in the match last night that I thought he might have a chance to making it as a mid-carder, maybe even lower upper-carder, in the future. I do have to admit, though, that I've watched no OVW and very little Smackdown, so last night was really the most I've seen him. So, basically, I could be dead-wrong.

If Ian & Tom were smart, they'd get rid of Jenn next, then Gregg, and leave it as the two of them, Caryn, and Katie as the final 4. Tom has Caryn wrapped around his finger, so could convince her to vote off Katie, leaving the two strong males and the weak female as the final 3. Of course, I doubt that'll happen.

I normally don't post in these "RIP" type of threads, but Candido was someone that I always just rooted for, for no real reason or anything, I just found myself naturally liking him as a wrestler. Sucks that he basically hit bottom, rehabilitated himself, and then passed away in such a fluke way.

No reason to sweat missing one of the Death Wish movies on AMC. They seem to be on at least a few times a month lately. Ahhh, yes, 10 to Midnight. Such an underrated movie. I haven't seen that in YEARS.

I'm bummed that Steph got eliminated ... I dug her aesthetically and was rooting for her to win. But having said that, I have a bet with my girlfriend and I have Tom winning it all ... so to have one of the people that was spearheading his getting voted off get voted off helps my chance of winning. Of course, it looks like my boy might be getting the boot next week, so it's just delaying the inevitable.

To have a guilty pleasure would indicate that I gave a fuck what people thought of the songs I like (why else would I feel guilty?!?). So, technically, none. But I do dig a lot of the songs other posters have referenced in this thread (e.g. I like Avril enough that I have "My Happy Ending" as one of the ring-tones on my phone ... hell, my ring tone list is like a who's who of cheesy songs, including the Cure, Kelis, Queen, the Killers)

Count me among those that eat all of one thing, then all of another, then all of a third, etc. I go as far as not touch my drink until my entire meal is done (unless I'm either choking, really dry mouthed, or it's an alcoholic beverage) I won't get the same thing as someone else at my table, unless it's like a restaurant specialty or something. (e.g. if I'm at Morton's I'll get a steak even if other people are, but if I'm at a regular restaurant I won't get the same thing as someone else) And count me among those that eat fries with a fork. No real reason, I don't care about getting stuff on my hands. I just dig eating fries with a fork.

Wait, people actually make mix tapes still? I just finished reading a book in which the characters make each other mix tapes, but it was a) set in the early 90s and b) set in a high school environment so it kind of made sense. But I actually thought to myself how glad I was that I never got into the whole mix tape thing. And how glad I am that people don't do that anymore. Lo and behold I was only half-right.

Wrestling Moves you busted out In Real Fights
nl5xsk1 replied to I like Forums's topic in General Wrestling
I haven't really been a fighter for a long time, but the only moves I can recall "busting out" are punches and knees. Those two things, and maybe kicks and headbutts, are the only wrestling moves that should be considered in a street fight. I agree that submission moves would work, but I'm not a huge fan of going for a tap-out in a real fight. -
Didn't he save Vader? That's what kind of ruined the debut for me, it looked awkward to have someone the size of Vader need help from a relatively small, normal looking guy like Blackman. Plus, I hate it when they use a 'guy jumps out of the audience to help the face' type of debut ... it's no wonder why drunken hicks then think it's kosher to jump the barrier and interfere. "Hey, it got Blackman a job ... maybe if I run in and push over the ladder they'll give me a job, too!"

No idea. Good question, though. While it's not a sport at all, if people get laid off from my company, part of their severance package includes rules about talking about the company for 3 months, along with a no-compete clause for up to one year.

Someone tell John Locke ... once he gets off the island he can head to Kansas to investigate this thing.

But the laws were on the books already in MD allowing this. OMG... FACTS~! Hey, this is current events ... facts only get in the way of jokes and opinions.

You know, I have a hard time remembering who wins or loses week in and week out ... so it baffles me that people throw out stats like 4-14 on Raw this year. Who, other than smarks, really tracks things like that?

Non-Bias Attack: A gang of up to 30 black teens
nl5xsk1 replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
I'm normally with you on that, Lushus ... if this was a one-one fight, regardless of the gender or race, I'd have let it go. If people want to have a go, who am I to stop them. But if it's just a full-on beatdown (which it was) then I really feel that getting involved is the right thing to do. Although, getting maced by a group of mid-teenaged girls out wildin' would have been a cool way for that situation to end. -
Non-Bias Attack: A gang of up to 30 black teens

I actually broke up a "fight" that consisted of a handful of black and Latina girls beating up on a white girl. I was sitting on my steps, drinking a beer and talking on the phone, when this young (maybe 14-year-old) Blondie power-walks arond the corner. Just as she was about to pass me, a group of about 5 or 6 girls, maybe a year or so older, came sprinting around the corner and quickly moved in on the girl. They pretty much cornered her between two parked cars and started wailing on her, screaming all sorts of crazy threats and whatnot. I didn't really want to get involved, but felt it was too fucked up not to. So, I went over and basically pulled the "I'm not letting this shit happen right here/right now" card, and told them to break it up. The attackers pretty much ran away, figuring that I was authoritative (e.g. old) enough that it didn't make much sense in sticking around. The girl that was getting attacked thanked me and hurried off. A few hours later a few older black kids swung by on their bikes, and just did circles in the street in front of my house. I went out to see what was up (fully anticipating a "WTF is your problem?!?" scene from them, but they just thanked me for stopping the beatdown, that it was bullshit, etc etc. Oh, how I miss living in the city. -
I don't really want to see her down south ... but if he could share some good titty pictures from when she was younger & hotter, I wouldn't be above taking a peak or two.

Was Rude ever really a face? Is that a kayfabed comment? -
If Tom & Ian had voted off Gregg, and kept Steph, an "all-women's alliance" wouldn't be necessary. It'd be Tom, Ian, Steph & Katie vs. Jenn, Janu & Caryn. The next three tribal councils would eliminate the latter three, and leave the original 4-some to compete against each other. I really don't see how Steph & Katie could be talked into abandoning their alliance with Tom & Ian, especially for Jenn, who they haven't had any allegiance to at all.

I know it's easy to play armchair quarterback, but the first thing I thought of when Greg tried to convince Tom & Ian to vote off Stephenie was ... If they really wanted to vote off stiff competition, they'd vote off Greg next. Besides being comparable to Steph in terms of physical skills, he also has that girlfriend of his to vote with him each & every time. Vote Greg off and you not only eliminate a strong competitor, you also break up a dangerous alliance. But, no, the two of them just stupidly agree to vote off Steph. Even though I have Tom in a Survivor pool (and in a side-bet with my gf) I'm kind of looking forward to him potentially getting voted off next week.

Haven't seen any of Kung Pow, so can't speak on that ... but the little of Zoolander that I saw, I hated. I find Ben Stiller to be among the most over-rated comedians around, and can't even sit through most of his movies.

VX, I said I'd rather do coke than snort crack ... and I stand by my statement. Now that I think about it, though, I'd rather have a coke-binge than rally meth, so I guess your pfft is still accurate. And I hear you on the "hippies are now tweakers" thing ... the last few years of Phish tour were pretty much ruined by the pharmy-scene. I thought it was more the younger, hippie-of-today scene than the DeadHead scene, but I really don't hang out with many older DeadHeads so it might be just as prevalent in their scene.

See, I do think that Strange Brew is a great movie. I could watch it twice a week and still laugh every time. But the fact that you called Deuce Bigelow a legit good movie indicates to me that you and I have VERY different tastes in movies. Sorry, Paragon, I don't. I didn't like it much when I was forced to watch it in elementary school and it just gets worse each time I watch part of it each year at Christmas time.
