I've heard that HHH ripped off Douglas as well, but I only heard about it on the 'net (and we all know how reliable net-rumors are) and, even if it is true, for all I know it's Douglas himself that started these rumors.

But the realignment hurt their natural rivalries with Chicago and Detroit! I'll give you Detroit, since it's so close to Ontario ... but Chicago only had a natural rivalry because both were Original 6 teams; it really doesn't have more of a natural rivalry than Boston or New York. Plus, the Battle for Ontario & the rivalry with Montreal are > the rivalry with Detroit.

Well that explains a few things... Not popular by choice, though, kkk ... I hated the meathead jocks more than they hated me. I can definitely understand the whole "I really didn't have many friends then" spiel. I was a stoner that was deep, deep, deep into the whole punk & skin scene, so needless to say I wasn't always popular with the male jocks. But now that so many years have passed I've started to run into a few of them (moving back to my hometown'll do that, I guess) and I've been stunned by the number of people that speak highly of me, as in they liked me then but didn't think that I'd deal with them so didn't bother acting on it. I've actually dated more girls from my high school graduating class since school then I ever dated while in school. Hell, even the girl I'm dating now was someone that I went to school with. And the weirdest thing is that I didn't even know she went to high school with me.

Hells yeah I miss being in school, but like others have said I'd prefer to go back a few years more, back to middle school/junior high. I'll take the "stresses" of that age over the stresses of real life any day of the year. School was easy compared to real life. And trust me when I say a lot of you that scoff at the notion now will sing a completely different tune when you reach 30. If you asked me 5 years ago or so, I'd have said no, too. But give me a few more years and now I'm 100% interested in going back.

The problem with putting Toronto back with those teams is that it hurts the natural rivalries that they have with Montreal and Ottawa, and to a lesser extent Buffalo and Boston.

Stupid move by TNA ... this could have been a symbiotic agreement that helped the WWE in the short term, but helped TNA much more, and for a much longer term as well. Imagine the number of wrestling fans that haven't watched TNA ever that could have seen some of their wrestlers on the ECW reunion, and then potentially followed them to the TNA PPVs.

I couldn't agree more ... the last time we all had a "Lita's a slut" thread (about 3 fucking weeks ago) I tried to put it in perspective by trying to start a "Vince was born a hermaphrodite" rumor. Sadly, it didn't take off. Not if the whole "winner gets a title shot" is an excuse to give Edge a feud with Batista. If Batista is winning, he'll need a heel to feud with after WM. And Edge is a good a choice as any. In kayfabe terms, though, he's not deserving of a title shot since he's blown it repeatedly. So, have him win the ladder match and ~presto~ instant excuse for a title shot. A pussy will always get at least a quiet cheer out of me.

See, I loves me some Tonya, so I've got no issues with her being on the show. On topic, though, after watching the first episode and the upcoming scenes/preview, this season seems to be pretty blah. I doubt I'll make it through the entire season.

Not if you start a thread about her in LSD, I bet. I'll save Ripper the time of starting a thread in LSD. Trish is very average to me. The whole "gi-normous fake titties on a peroxide blonde" look does next to nothing for me. And her face is just average. Her body, if not enhanced in the chest, is smoking. But the total package (no, not Luger) is very average. So, would I say I find her unattractive? No. But to say that I find her attractive isn't entirely accurate, either. If it's just black and white (attractive or not) then I'd say yes. But since the real world has shades of grey, she's somewhere in the middle.

Yes, there is most definitely contact in hoops. But to say that there's at least padding in hockey sells short the level of impact in that game. Tell Eric Lindros and his collection of concussions that he's got enough padding. Tell Paul Kariya that after he gets knocked unconscious due to a Scott Stevens hit. I'm not one of the ones that says that basketball is contact-free. But I am one that says that there's less contact than in hockey.

ESPN's trying to reach has wide an audience, and honestly hockey just doesn't have the nationwide popularity the other sports do. But what about a sport like poker, which really wasn't that popular until ESPN pushed it to the moon? Then, once it got more popular they had a legitimate reason to keep hyping it. But it was their press-machine that made it as popular as it was. Another example is the X-games ... shoved down people's throats until the point that they believe that they actually like it.

When you put it that way, it is kind of funny. But I didn't find out the games were gone until we were separated and I moved to California. Besides, there were 30 or so games which I spent several thousand dollars on over the years. Oh, don't get me wrong ... I recognize that a boatload of games aren't cheap, and it sucks that they got ganked. It just sounds funny.
