It was a team effort. A thread couldn't be derailed to such a pitiful extent by just one person.

    your biggest mistake

Not officially moving to Colorado while going to school there ... I could have saved somewhere in the ballpark of $40k if I'd just legally "moved" to Colorado instead of staying a Masshole.

    NHL Thread: It's December Now.

RE: The Penguins moving to Hartford. As much as I'd love it - I miss going to B's games there - I just can't see Bettman going back to a city that he abandoned. KC or Seattle would be more likely, and even <gasp> putting the team in Canada is more likely. RE: the whole "Vote for Rory" campaign. It was funny before it meant him actually making the team. The fact that he's now among the leading vote getters is kind of a debacle, and makes the NHL seem like even more of a joke league than it already was. I can almost hear the "funny" comments from ESPN already. I've heard that he'll decline the invite if he gets voted in - and really hope that that's true. RE: Pronger vs. Niedermayer. I wonder if the fact that Western Canada hates Pronger has anything to do with Niedermayer having more votes. RE: the atrocious scheduling system currently used by the NHL. The Bruins play their THIRD game against the Western Conference tonight. The team is almost 40% through their schedule (rough estimate, way too lazy to figure it out mathematically) and they're only playing the West for the THIRD fucking time. So, so stupid.

Lushus kicked me out of Clique B - so I might be available to join their clique.

Or it's just a funny way to refer to our alleged "clique".

dubq has been a member of The Pit for like a week, and he's already a mindless drone like the rest of us. Good thing Czech is here to be a beacon of inspiration about how to be a better message boarder. EDIT: and do you prefer "dubQ" or "dubq"?

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

Wait ... are you complaining about a hypothetical situation? With all the legitimate things to hate ESPN for, why bother making up something to bitch about?

    Survivor: Cook Island

It's funny, this thread has had more activity and more debate after the season ended than it has at any point during the season.

I'll start the bidding at $200 What a waste of money! Shouldn't you be buying Paul's kid some clothes or Christmas presents instead of wasting your money like that, Chave? Touch 'em all! Good one, Chav, or Niskie, or Black Lushus, or Eric, or whoever. How can one tell when everybody has already made the same joke like ten times? This is the internet. If a joke has only been made like ten times, it's still in it's developmental stage. There's a long way to go before it's played out. Give it a few more weeks, and maybe then it'll be passe. And do you really like us independantly of each other, or was that just a good way to segue to the putdown?

    FOX shows last night (11/26)

I think the Simpsons struck first, mocking the family guy for being a rip-off of their show, among other things ... and then Family Guy started to respond. From what I've gleamed, though, it's more good natured ribbing, where-as the Family Guy & South Park writers & producers have actual disdain for each other's show.

    Survivor: Cook Island

Wow, a very anticlimactic final 2 episodes (three if you include the 2-hour one on Sunday as 2 separate episodes). First, the one from Thursday: Man, Parvati in the mud saved that challenge. Without her luciousness saving the challenge, it was among the dumbest, least entertaining challenges I've seen. Seeing her do her thing in the mud, though, saved it for me. Above and beyond that, though, a 'meh' penultimate episode. The fact that Adam was obviously going to get eliminated took away any excitement or anticipation. I had a chat with someone that thought it was dumb that they didn't take him up on the "make Yul use the idol" offer, but I think that Ozzy & Sundra did the right thing. Why piss off the other two people in the alliance - and possibly two members of the jury - unnecessarily? Then, the actual finale: I wonder when they decided to make it a 3-way F2? It was a pointless twist, I thought. I'd have rather seen another final immunity challenge, and then the winner (likely Ozzy or Yul) have to choose between someone that deserved to be in the F2 (the other one, either Ozzy or Yul) and someone that had no justification for being there (Becky). And the tie-breaker fire challenge was maybe the funniest thing I've seen on Survivor. It's the same thing EVERY TIME that there's a tie; why wouldn't either girl be smart enough to practice lighting fires in the first 30+ days that they're there, just in case?!? Having said all that, I'm not surprised that Yul won. He did deserve it ... almost as much as Ozzy did. Dominating the challenges is more difficult in my eyes than being "a mastermind"; if I was on the jury, I'd have voted for Ozzy. And I only watched about 10 minutes of the reunion ... but did Candice get wicked heavy after leaving the island, or were my eyes playing tricks on me?

    NHL Thread: It's December Now.

7:30. Not 7. And of course he'll be booed ... because it's so heinous that a player would take advantage of an opportunity to sign for a huge amount of money rather than stay at "home" for a "hometown discount" ... because Chara IS from Ottawa, isn't he? Even if he's not, he at least would reward the team that drafted him, right? I mean, it's not like Ottawa traded for him in a terribly one-sided deal that allowed them to get rid of a malcontent. And before anyone asks, no, I don't boo former Bruins when they come back to Boston. Well, except for Hal Gill. But I booed him more intensely when he was wearing the Spoked B than I do now.

If someone banned all the awful posters, all the posters that flamed, and all the posters that trolled, there wouldn't be much of a message board. Who would be left for niskie to talk to?

And for all the people questioning why he's pay that much money ... let's keep one foot in reality. It's not like he bid thousands upon thousands of dollars. It's $200.00 ... it's not going to break the bank in the Paul household.

    NHL Thread: It's December Now.

Summing up living in Boston in one sentence: I went to the B's game last night, it was actually an exciting game that they won and, and the loudest pop of the night was for Dice-K Matsuzaka for dropping the puck pre-game. I fucking hate living among Red Sox Nation.
  23. I'm more of a happy wanker. Occasionally a frantic wanker, if the situation calls for it. But rarely, if ever, a "mad" one. By either definition of the word.

    Fridge's Whereabouts

I might be going to tonight's game, too ... could this be my first ever TSM IRL encounter?!?
  25. honestly, on some days, yes...depends on work really. I rarely post from home in the evenings or on the weekends, but being in management gives me ample opportunity to jack around on some days. There are some days that I have a dozen posts on each ... and days that I don't have any on either board. It all depends on what people are talking about on each board on a given day. It's not like I make a point to be "active" on both boards, I just check both for a conversation that I want to have. It's cyclical, for me: sometimes TSM is full of threads that I want to read and contribute to, and other times that there's just nothing that I care about. Same with the Pit. And like Lushus said, I'm management - so can kill as much time as I want on the boards. If I'm hung over or demotivated for some other reason, I might spend more time online (and not just at these two boards) than actually being productive.
