Doesn't the fact that Goldberg is such a mark for himself lead you to think that he might have glossed over some of the less-than-flattering details of his career?

So, she's a whore because she gave a blowjob and slept with a few guys? Sounds kind of normal to me. Maybe a little more promiscuous than average, but it's not like she set some gangbang record or anything.

Thanks for the answer, Alro ... my fear is that the girls will win purely because the guys through this mission ... karma will come back and bite them in the sac, letting the girls win.

When I moved to the city, I realized that I either needed to get a home phone or a cell phone. Since I was just going to be living with one other person, we decided to each get our own cell phone and not bother with a home one. And I've kept it that way ever since, I've moved 3 times now and haven't bothered getting a home phone once. Why bother, when I can just give out the one number and know that people can reach me regardless of where I am?

I'm walking a fine line with this, so really no disrepect meant, Dama ... but I do think it might mean something different in a place with only one team to follow. If Oklahoma had pro teams, it'd be tough to discern with which 'we' you were referring to ... but with no pro teams, and only one really dominant college team, it's kind of obvious. I'm guessing things are the same in Nebraska. But, here in Boston, right now 'we' could mean: Pats, Celtics, BU hockey, BC hockey, BC men's football, and on and on and on. It's a little more vague.

I spaced watching the episode last night ... what happened? Who got voted off?

How could you have found those two idiots entertaining? Somebody must have since they have a spin-off show. I think that people watch because Flav & Bridgette are a pair of train-wrecks, not because they're entertaining. Kind of like the Osbournes or Anna Nicole ... not entertaining, but hard-not-to-watch because they're so banged up.

Here's my problem with this theory. The Patriots knew they had a rookie quarterback going in the first game and Roethlisberger proceeded to go 18/24 for 196 yards and two touches. The Pats never sacked him, never forced a fumble, never made a pick. They had game footage from his bad games earlier in the year for that game. What makes you think they're going to poof up a magic plan now? Yes, I do think that they will "poof up a magic plan now": run the ball, protect the QB, and play better in the secondary. a) run the ball: Hand the ball to their premier running back, the one that gained more than 1600 yards in 15 games but missed the game in October, and hope to gain more than the .8 yards-per-carry that they got in that first game. b) protect the QB: Playing this game with both starting offensive tackles (both missed the first Pittsburgh game) should help slow down the Pittsburgh pass rush. Less pass rush == less bad passes, and less bad passes == less turnovers. c) better play in the secondary: Gay was playing for the first time all year, and both Moreland & Brown were still getting their feet wet. All of the above have 2+ months more experience this week. While they're not the best DBs in the world, they're certainly better now than they were on Halloween. Unrelated response: In terms of the ice surface itself, yes, but in terms of the rules, no. The home team gets to make the last line change, so can always match up their best defensive pairing against the other teams best forwards, or send out their skilled players versus the other teams 4th liners. -
I shake my head at the people that say this gimmick isn't working ... the guy's already getting more heel heat than most veterans, and certainly getting more than any of the vanilla, generic debuts that have been used lately. And to say that he's getting X-Pac heat from the marks is a blatant lie ... smarks might not want to see him in that role, but marks just get all jingoistic and boo the guy. My big complaint with it is that there isn't much to do with it after the shock-value wears off. Maybe after a set-amount of time they could just repackage him, change his name and downplay his being "Arab-American" (a la changing Prince Albert to Albert to A-Train, but using "ethnic roots" in place of a piercing fetish)

Trey Anastasio is the guitarist for Phish (technically, WAS the guitarist for Phish, but I digress) but has proven to be able to play drums really well. He played at least one song in most of their shows, can play multiple songs, from a variety of genres, and really seemed to be interested in playing them well. But, by your definition he can't be called a drummer because his primary function was to be the guitarist. Thus, I disagree with your assessment.

Excellent point, Ripper, about the effects of playing outdoors for a dome team. Theoretically, being a road-warrior should be harder for the Falcons (indoor team playing outdoors, in the cold) than it should be for the Patriots (outdoor, cold weather team playing outdoors in cold weather). Having said that, though, the effects of the noise of the crowd shouldn't be overlooked. It'll be awfully tough for either Atlanta or New England to call plays with the noise from the stands. And, having said that, give me the Pats & Eagles to make the Super Bowl. I think that Philly will find a way to slow Vick down, and to limit the effectiveness of Dunn & Duckett ... and I don't think that a team will win a championship game with the TE being their primary (only???) target. And I just think that New England is playing too well right now; if Roethlisberger plays half as poorly against the Patriots as he did the Jets, the Steelers will lose bad. Even if he plays well, I think New England will keep a ton of guys in the box and make the Steelers beat them with the rookie's arm. I don't care how many games in a row he's won, you have to give the edge to the Pats if it comes down to a rookie QB. -
Verne's every bit as annoying as "Chynna Doll" and Da Brat. Hell, kill off all 3 and just leave us with the others ... it'd be less obnoxious.

I voted no ... unless you specifically are part of the team, you can't say "we" ... no exceptions. Re: the "I've been a fan for a long time": What if you're a fan of a band for a long time? Can you say, "We played a good show"? No, of course not. Or, if you're a fan of a TV show for a long time, can you say, "We had a funny episode last night?" No. So why should you be able to say 'we' for a sports team?

when you get hit by grown men running at you full speed for a living, celebrating a touchdown isn't classless. It is a well earned reward. They're paid millions of dollars to score touchdowns, and getting hit by full grown men is justpart of the hazard of the occupation. And, truthfully, I really don't have much problem with celebrations ... I just am a firm believer in "act like you've been there before". Oh, I have no problems with ego ... I have a problem with acting low-class.

I'm fully ready to get flamed for this, but ... I'd rather listen to the Ashlee Simpson album than anything by The Ramones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Abe Lincoln Story, Neil Hamburger, Joni Mitchell, and Brian Wilson. Only the few that I deleted would be preferable to her bubble-gum pop. And, I really can't stress this enough, I - in no way - like Ashlee Simpson or her music. I just dislike the others more.

Where's the Corey Dillon love? I'd have chosen Dillon over Martin even before CD became a Patriot.

One of my problems with his 902 rushing yards, al, is how many of those should have been passing yards? Running the ball when he could be passing it isn't necessarily a good thing. His QB skills are basically limited to passing to the middle of the field or to running the ball ... to be considered a great quarterback, I think that he needs to learn to check down to his 2 or 3 receiver, instead of just looking for one WR or Alge, and then running for his life.

You're right ... she's not a drummer. She's a singer/songwriter. But she can play the drums. No one here is claiming that she's John fucking Bonham. People are claiming that she knows at least one song ... which is indicative of being able to play the instrument. Plus, even if it is just one song, how many songs does one need to be able to play to get the classification of being able to play that instrument? Two? Five? Thirteen? And I have to disagree with your "if she doesn't play guitar/drums well, it doesn't count as playing them" theory ... to further my cocksucker reference from earlier, my present girlfriend is horrid at going down on me ... but does that mean she doesn't suck dick? No, she still does, just not that well. Doing something is one thing, doing it well is another. If Special K had originally asked, "Can Lavigne at least play an instrument proficiently? Then you'd have a point. But he didn't, his question was: And, Paragon, the same way that Barron can't prove how many songs she knows on drums, or guitar, or whatever-else, how can people prove that she doesn't know drums, or guitar, or whatever-else?!?

Yes, he did re-enact the star celebration, but used the one in the end zone this time. My favorite is the aforementioned "Fun Bunch" by the 'Skins. Technically, my favorite is Barry Sanders handing the ball to the official and jogging of the field without a celebration, showing more class in one action than a TO or Moss will do in their entire careers.

To steal a relatively famous quote:""You can paint pictures your whole life but they'll never call you an artist. You can play music your whole life but they'll never call you a musician. But you suck one dick and they call you a cocksucker for the rest of your life." (And I'm NOT calling you a cocksucker, just saying that being able to play drums does indeed make someone a drummer. Not a good one, but a drummer nonetheless.) And, regarding the song-writing or jealousy aspects, there wasn't really one poster in mind ... I really don't pay much attention to who's posting what, for the most part. It just seemed like an avalanche of people shitting on her, and as soon as BB refuted an argument there was something else. /glad we could make each other laugh this morning

I only saw one PPV at a Hooters, and even then it wasn't on purpose. It was the Hooters in Manchester, which is in a hotel, and I was at the hotel bar having a drink to kill time before meeting up with a date. There were so many people in the Hooters that they opened the door-thingy that separated the Hooters from the hotel bar. Sadly, the only match that I saw was Mordecai versus someone (maybe Holly?).

Wasn't it her that took the piledriver off the ring apron through a table, too? Balls Mahoney?
