I was thinking the same thing ... how hard would it have been to let Regal & Eugene keep the belts until next Monday, and then have Bischoff say "due to the use of the knucks, the belts are held up" and then have La Rez win them back next week? Why not send the fans home happy last night?!?

Not to take this thread from it's current hilarity to something that's, you know, about baseball but ... Does anyone else get the vibe that the crazy/crappy things happening to the Yankees lately are the types of things that normally happen to Boston? One of their top starters breaks a hand punching a wall? One of the most valuable members of their bullpen gets shot in the eye with a cork? Their most valuable player has a random catastrophe at home, leading to speculation over if his head is Ok? These are the things that normally plague Boston, so it's weird to see them happening to the other team for a change.

My guess is that the Jets are losing first, to NE the week after next. Then I think the Pats & Eagles are losing the same week, to the Rams & Steelers, respectively. Since the Battle of Pennsylvania will probably be an early game, and the NE-SL game will be late, the Pats will be the last to lose, but only by about 3 hours.

The Bills aren't as bad as their record indicates ... they should have won in week 1 (vs. Jax) and should have won yesterday (vs the NYJ). Add that to looking decent against the Pats, and they've shown me much more than the Dolphins have. The Dolphins have a better D, but a much worse offense, and I don't think they'll be able to do much against the Bills D. My guess: Bills win, by about 6 or 7.

Not including drive-throughs without stopping, I've been to: Mass, NH, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, NJ, NY, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, DC (if that counts as a state), Georgia, Florida, N. Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, California, Texas, New Mexico, Oregon, Montana, and I think that's it.

You can't possibly be serious. And he's picking Miami to at least cover the spread, meaning he expects the Dolphins to put up 35 points. Shhh.... I'd like to say I have some devious, well thought plan on why I chose that # as my tiebreaker. Something that will guarantee a win, knocking this 0-3 monkey off my back. But I don't. I asked this girl I work with to pick a number, and that's what she chose. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Does anyone know a good page with reliable spoilers? This girl I work with is asking me if I know of any, & it'd be A-game to be able to hook her up with a link.

The thing that botheres me most about his anti-Bush tirades is he always rants & raves about the Republicans being against him, and making releasing his books so difficult ... and his books came out long before W. was in office. I'm not sure if they came out in the Clinton era, or the George I era, but it had NOTHING to do with the present administration.

I think that I've finally fallen from "has no heat at all" to having X-Pac heat. It's not that bad. /still sleeps at night

It's destiny. It shouldn't happen any other way, and you know Yankee fans will just get on the Red Sox about how they didn't beat them to get there. Sorry to drag this up after a few pages but I have to give my two cents on this, because it's driving me nuts. I'm so freaking sick of people saying "they have to beat the Yankees for it to matter" ... how is everyone losing sight of the fact that if the Sox play the Twins, and win, then they're beating the team that beat the Yankees. The Yankees COULDN'T get it done this year, and the Sox could. Yes, it'd have greater impact to beat the Yankees than the Twins, but it sounds to me like a lot of people would rather see the Sox beat the Yankees than win a World Series. Priorities, people, get the Series monkey off the Sox back and THEN worry about beating the Yankees in the postseason.

I had WBCN on my car this morning while driving to work (technically, it was on while I was switching CDs) and the entire 3-4 minutes that I listened to him was spent with him bitching to some limo driver (at least it sounded like it was a limo driver) about a car. All I could think to myself is, 'People are going to pay to listen to him complain about a car?!?'. All the power to him if the sheep are willing to follow. I personally think his shtick is being done better by other people, and he sounds like an idiot when he bitches about politics and the "government's crusade against him". I'm really looking forward to BCN having something else on in the morning. Meatwad, you speak the truth:

After the Brattle Theatre (small hipster theatre here in Cambridge) played the Bava flicks a few years back, a few of us asked them to do a series of Argento movies. They looked at us like we'd asked them to eat their young. Needless to say, they felt that Argento's work would be a bit much for the average fan. /Big fan of his work. //bigger fan of Asia

How would you spend your last day alive?

Unless you're truly sorry and feel remorse for said sins, you're still going South. You actually have to feel regret for your actions to truly be absolved. See what being raised Catolic has done to me? Actualy, I'm a believer in God, so I've done a pretty good job of repenting & apologizing as I've sinned. It'd only be the stuff that I did that day that would need to be addressed. I'm 99% sure I'll be looking down with a harp, rather than up from the flames, when all is said and done. -
Someone on the fark message board said it best ... for all the drinking, drugging, womanizing, and partying he did, him living to 82 is like a vegan living to 150. And it's funny that Banky points out how much he outperformed Chase, Murray, et al in Caddyshack, because I've heard that he was uber-paranoid that he wouldn't be funny in that movie because he was a (relative) no-name compared to all these comedic superstars. While I'm not shocked that he died, I am pretty bummed. The guy was a legend, and that's not a word that I just throw around.

There's a very good chance that CCC winning the belt wasn't an imprompto decision ... all of the radio ads around here for the Smackdown! taping mentioned "the debut of CCC" (with his full name, obviously) which seemed really strange to me. Now that his debut included him winning a belt, it makes a little more sense. Just one theory, though.

Because there is one more of them ($1,980.00 vs $1,979.00)

First of all, sorry to hear about your grandfather ... it sucks to hear about things like that. Then, to answer your question, I'd probably spend some time in the morning with my nephew, who I'd be counting on to carry on in my place in the family dynamic. Then I'd probably go to each person that's wronged me and tell them off once and for all, and to each person that's treated me well (above and beyond the call of duty well, not just your standard well) and thank them for all they've done. Then I'd begin drinking and drugging to the level of Keith Moon, just to get it all out of my system. Then, right at the last minute I'd repent for all my sins in life to ensure that I'd be going North, rather than South, once I'd officially dead. And, of course, throughout the day I'd be trying to bang as many girls with the "I'm dying tomorrow, pity me with a quickie" line. -
I was going to say just that ... the other 'offensive' things (Katie Vick, Lita's miscarriage, etc) were part of a storyline and thus had Vince's input, whereas this was just a line that was thrown out and thus had nothing to do with him.

Not to divert the thread back to the actual point of it or anything like that, but ... And I'm wicked paranoid that I'll skip someone, so I'm just doing a top 6 list: Max: Brings the hockey goodness more than anyone else at TSM, and that alone makes him praise worthy. Redbaron: Other than being a Habs fan, seems to be praise worthy. Lushus: Considering how different we seem to be in real life, we seem to agree on a lot of shit here on TSM. Being like me makes him praise worthy. Laz: New Englad r0x and stuff ... and thus he's praise worthy. Ripper: I now say "Fuck Yo Couch" about 50x a day. Having an avatar saying that gets that stuck in my head makes him praise worthy. EDIT: I already thought of someone that I'd forgotten ... add JangoFett to the list, he's always been cool to me, plus is into the same 'Boston scene' as me, so he's definitely praiseworthy. Honorable mention: AoO: Simply because it pisses him off that people are digging his shit.
