nl5's bold prediction of the day: Tom Fitzgerald will never score as many as 7 goals in a season again. See, now I have another reason for the CBA to be agreed upon without impacting the season ... so Tommy F. can have the entire season to try & break 7 goals.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out ... a lot of us have been here for a long time, and have had no issues following the simple rules that have been implemented. Again, lots of us have posted here for years without any serious issues with any mods ... maybe it wasn't the mods that were to blame for this pissing match. Not to sound like a ball-washer, but good work AoO. One less idiot to deal with while on the intraweb.

Max, you and I both know the next Demtra story will end with him in either Detroit, Colorado or NY.

To compare seeing a game at Wrigley or Fenway to a game at "the Jake" is a joke. (the fact that the stadium has a nickname is laughable to me, but that's a whole different conversation.) The only thing that new stadiums offer are amenities, and other than shorter beer lines and bathroom lines, I don't really care for amenities. I'd rather be in a smaller seat, with less leg room, knowing that I'm watching a game in the same place that people watched Ruth, and Williams, and Yaz, and Kaline. (Or, if I'm at Wrigley, Aaron, and Mays, and Musial, and Banks.) While Yankee Stadium has been refurbished more than some of the others, it's still one of the elite older stadiums that has seen more history than 20 new stadiums COMBINED. But, I guess when Tigers Stadium & Comiskey went down, it was inevitable that others would follow. Having seen games of 3/4 major sports in both old and new stadiums/arenas, give me the old over the new 7 days a week.

Yeah, but I need to get up to MA somehow. I'll get there eventually. Fucking Bruins. I hate to post again so quickly, but I didn't see Max's post. Don't worry, I'll find some time this weekend to, ahem, have a conversation with MOC and Harry. We'll just need to make sure that Jacobs is gone first, he's the one that'll hire another cheap piece of crap to replace the two that I'll be removing from office.

Actually, the B's can get enough 4th liners ... ... unless they lose a few this offseason there's already Doull, Grosek, MacDonald, Zamuner, Fitzgerald, Hilbert, not to mention the various Providence guys that get called up for some games each year. And, sadly, that's with Lapointe & PJ already taking up 2 spots on the third line. So, unless the big plan is to have one good line, one average line, and 2 lines of scrubs, the team needs to pick up some real talent. Badly. And quickly.
-
I can only think of 2 that are necessary, Max ... Massachusetts to take care of Sinden and MOC, and NY to take care of Jacobs.
-
Who cares that the B's lost Knuble ... and Rolston ... and are in danger of losing Murray and maybe Thornton, too ... we've found the guy to replace them all: Tom freaking Fitzgerald. http://bostonbruins.com/pressbox/pressreleases.asp?ID=1313 Fingers are crossed that he can replicate his 7 goal season of last year. Just what the team needed, ANOTHER fucking 4th liner. Damn, I hate this team so much some times.

NB, the complaints are about you not using the quote feature. And for your refusal to use the correct your/you're and their/they're/there. The former complaint seems to be pretty you-specific, as I can't remember other people so adament about using "" instead of the quote box. The your/you're and their/they're/there debate is nothing new, and it's been asked in the past that the poster take the time to use the correct wording. Does it always have to be on point? No, we all make occasional typos. But is it asking too much to take the time to correctly spell the words in a post, to make reading it easier for everyone else? No, it shouldn't be. I'm can't get into any trolling accusations, I actually don't read your posts (you repeatedly say "if you don't like my using quotes instead of the quote box, don't read my posts" so I tend to stop there and go to the next post). Just my 2 cents, though.

It's foolish to think that people that don't cry are "caught up in macho bullshit" or anything like that. I barely cried when my grandparents died, and when my friends that passed away died, even behind closed doors. I just didn't feel the need or urge to cry. If things that are actually traumatic don't make me cry, why would I cry over a movie or a stranger showing emotion? Not crying =/= macho bullshit. Some people cry, some people don't ... neither is right and neither is wrong.

I think the fact that it was an Iron Man match potentially hurt the ratings ... the average viewer (e.g. the non-smark) might think to themself "this match has no chance of ending for another 45 minutes, I can just flip around and come back periodically, and make sure that I'm back at 11:00-ish to see how it ends" and then flip away for a while.

Crying over a movie like My Girl is lame; save the tears for movies like Brian's Song. (Hell, seeing a movie like My Girl is pretty lame ... it better have come with a side of fellatio for you to even try to sit through a movie like that. Unless you're a pedo and that girl with the Russian name was giving you wood, but that's an entirely different story.) And, FS, I don't think you meant this to come out as it sounded: ... at first reading, it sounded like you were going to start giving him anal. And that takes it way too far.

Question for those "in the know" about IWS ... is Elsa Bangz still involved? I remember reading a lot more about her in past write-ups, and now rarely see her name mentioned. For some reason I find her to be very delicious eye-candy, so am wondering if she's still involved.

What do you guys think, is Club Hypnotic a strip club or just a dance club? Either way, he was most likely on some level of performance enhancing drugs and was all boozed up and did a really bad, really stupid thing. AS, I really don't think that anyone on this board actually encourages violence on women. Each time that there's a situation like this people make jokes; why are you so surprised this time? Those of us that have been here a while have seen this happen too many times to count.

Does anyone know where Chis Kovachis got his information? Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but it wouldn't surprise me that someone from Slam! sports in Canada would side with Hart and look for ways/reasons to disparage Flair. Not accusing anyone of anything, just wondering where Ole said that about Flair.

All of you talking about this movie has made me want to see it more than all of the ads & hype that I've previously encountered combined.

What, did Varitek use six "fuck you"s According to the home plate umpire, yes. AS, I think you inadvertently left off part of the post that you quoted ... how many times did Varitek say "come on", which is more likely to trigger a fight than just saying "fuck you"? I understand your point, that Varitek wasn't without fault, but to blatantly ignore part of a post to prove your point isn't right.

It won't be a kid, because the episode is based around gay marriage ... and regardless if elementary school aged children know if they're gay or not, they're not old enough to wed. And I doubt that it'd be Smithers because it wouldn't be news-worthy. And I think that Groening & Co. are looking to capitalize on the gay marriage debate controversy with this, so picking a known gay character for it wouldn't work. Carl & Lenny have been hinted at being more than platonic friends (numerous times) but it would really change the dynamic of the Moe's Tavern clique to have them be married. So, I doubt it's them. My guess was going to be Patty a/o Selma even before spman posted that thing from snpp.com. (I can't remember which one of them was always getting married ... whichever it was, I was thinking the other one.) The only problem with it being Patty or Selma is why would Homer be the minister? They hate him, and vice versa.

I agree with Lars ... Cliff wouldn't be the right guy to play with Metallica now, he'd probably rather not be involved with shit like St Anger. He'd probably go off on his own & make something that was listenable instead. I'd buy an album with those three plus a drummer.

If you're going to count the DVD commercial, you'd have to count the JBL 'presidential parody commercial', too. Not that it really changes the outcome much, but to count one means you have to count the other, too. And why did they need to rush the 8 man into an elimination match? Why not a tournament leading up to SS, with the final match taking place at the PPV?

Oh, Max, I thought you had learned by now ... hockey barely exists in the ESPN universe. Imagine how much fun we'll have when some trick in the fucking X-games is above Gretzky breaking the record. And when something like McSorley or Bertuzzi is above Gretkzy breaking the record.

Why don't you bitch about it? You are a punning machine! But seriously, Lesnar will just stay on the practice squad all year, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets cut before the end of the preseason. People want to see Brock screw up and get a stinger and what not. He'll play because he'll draw in crowds. My guess is that a vast majority of the crowd is there because they're football fans, not to see an ex-wrestler. There will be few people, if any, that go to a Vikes game to see Lesnar. The rest will be there to see their favorite football team play, regardless of Lesnar being there.

To summarize: The Yankees, and their fans, think it's Boston & Varitek that are to blame. The Red Sox, and their fans, think that it's New York & ARod that are to blame. Repeatedly harping on that fact is just beating a dead horse.

Setting: Axis, Boston MA Opener: Beefy/DC (Local AC/DC cover band, playing Bon Scott-era songs only with just a few Back In Black exceptions. I like seeing them more than the real AC/DC at this point.) Middle: Electric Wizard Headliner: Monster Magner ******************************************************************** Setting: Orpheum, Boston MA Opener: Ozric Tentacles Middle: AIR Headliner: Stereolab

Totally agree. That digitally inserted red line showing where the line of scrimmage was (which was only used when Vick was on the field) just pushed it over the top. Every broadcast of ESPN Sunday Night Football is bad. Agreed, the Sunday Night Crew do it for someone just about EVERY game ... If the Packers are playing: "That's a play that only Brett Favre could ever make!" (*when it's a simple play-action pass) If the Ravens are playing: "No other LB in football would have made that play; that's what makes Ray Lewis so special." (*when it's just running down a back in the backfield) If the Vikings are playing: "Randy Moss makes plays that other WRs couldn't dream of." (*hey, he ran under a deep ball. Wonderful) ... the verbal fellatio that those announcers give certain players is so blatant it's laughable.
