    Time To Die

I think that all 3 of the bands that you mention had some hardcore moments (e.g. In God We Trust, Inc by the DKs or some of the later Misfits songs) but I really don't think of them as hardcore bands. They just seemed like punk bands that followed the wave towards a more hardcore/metal sound. To me, bands like Sick of it All, Slapshot, Agnostic Front, SSD, etc. were straight-up hardcore bands, without the punk roots.

What are your plans for the summer?

Working all day, drinking all night. Doing some traveling (either Europe or maybe just trips to Canada). Dorking around on a message board with a bunch of strangers. And congratulations, c316.

    One thing you like...

I like the Olsen Twins. And bestiality. (thanks for the correct spelling, IDRM) /should have just put 'watching women have sex with dogs
  4. Because it's not like she's choosing to have an eating disorder ... it's a mental disorder, that she most likely has minimal control over. So it's not like she's choosing not to eat, and thus can just choose to eat again. Having all the money in the world doesn't mean that you're not susceptible to mental problems (in fact, looking at people like Howard Hughes and the like, it's probably more likely that you'll have at least some sort of issues)
  5. Hell, I'd even offer it to if she asked me nicely. And, DS, I think Skinny Puppy would be optional, but not mandatory. You might need to blare some while picking them up, but once you got them in the bedroom for the naughty touch, you probably wouldn't need to anymore.

I'm guessing option B, because the name-dropping actually hinders his point more than helps it.

    Contreras reunites with Family.

Sorry this is going to sound so callous but ... If seeing his family meant so much to him, he should have stayed in Cuba. It's pretty selfish to defect to the US but leave his wife and kids behind. Regardless of the oppression that I was living under, if escaping meant that I'd have to leave my loved ones behind to potentially suffer, then it wouldn't be worth it. I'm happy for Contreras, but really think that he should have thought this through before making his great escape.
  8. As someone that always preferred MK to Ashley, let me say that I'm bummed that she's sick. (and let me also say that I'm glad that I recently switched to being an Ashley-fan ... she's single, so thus I have a better chance with her) And it's good to see that everyone here has always done the right thing for their friends and families. Because obviously everyone that's saying that Ashley should have said or done something sooner would have done so right away. Got a cousin that's using drugs? Intervention. Have a sibling that drinks and drives? Intervention. Have a friend that's sleeping around without a condom? Intervention. Get real, people turn a blind eye to shit all the time, and Ashley probably finally saw the writing on the wall and did say something. (not that I really know, I don't know them personally ... but it's just a guess)

MTV True Life: I Have a Summer Share

Think about it....you're still 18-20 years old and you're earning 200K a year. Your parents are more than happy to give you a cheap place to live. Your money stacks up over the course of say....5 or so years. Eventually, you've earned nearly a million and can now buy a decent place, and have some money left over to live on for years until you have to go get a real job. I'd say that he was smart. While he shouldn't buy himself a mansion and piss away all his money, it'd be very easy for him to get a nice 1 bedroom apartment for less than a grand a month. Once you add in bills and whatnot, he's only spending say $15,000 a year on room and board. Having $185,000 in your bank account and living independantly > having $200,000 in your bank account and living in your parents basement.

    Time To Die

Agnostic Front is/was hardcore, but most of the other bands he references aren't ... Cro-Mags, Void, Negative Approach, & Cryptic Slaughter were all more metal than hardcore. And then to name-drop Black Flag & Minor Threat was just random - when was Black Flag hardcore? And Minor Threat is from an entirely different era than the h/c bands that he's mentioning.
  11. The goth at the top isn't the only piece of talent on that page ... And there's something really funny about a group of idiots celebrating The Feast of Samhain at a "a charming seafood restaurant overlooking the water at Salem’s historic Pickering Wharf." If it wasn't $55.00, I'd probably go.

MTV True Life: I Have a Summer Share

Wasn't it something like "I'm going to hunt you like cattle", or something equally as non-sensical?

    The jinx is in!

Damaramu, thanks for the hook-up on the Rams ... I was actually fearing the worst, but he makes it sound like they could have a half-way decent team. I'd settle for a finish somewhere in the 20s, and another mid-level bowl appearance. /jealous of people that go to schools that have legitimate national title hopes.

MTV True Life: I Have a Summer Share

True Life is far and away the best show MTV ever created ... The guy with the calf-implants? Awesome. The fat-kid camp one, where the enormous kid has a sloppy makeout session with his fat girlfriend? Awesome. (doubly-awesome for the girl that lost like next to no weight and goes to impress the kid that she's got the hots for and he's wicked apathetic.) The dad that cries because his son is willing to dress up like a stormtrooper for him? Awesome. Not the mention the tweaker/raver episode, the midget episode, the paralyzed episode. Every episode that show has ever done has been at least half-way entertaining.

    Punk Essentals?

Sick of it All is more hardcore than punk ... if we're expanding the suggestion box to more than just straight up punk, than I have a shit-load of other suggestions.

If you could have a drink with 3 people

Yeah, I'd already been given a caveat about Fractal's titties ... I was able to find a closer picture, one without the exposed chest. Her webpage is http://www.andyprivate.com/ ... but she looks like shit in a lot of those pictures, so I'm hesitant to post it. Maybe I'll drop her and choose Bilara, for the same reasons. At least Bilara always looks hot.

    OaO vs. One topic threads

Count me in the majority ... OaO works for things like the hockey & basketball playoffs, but if there's a big enough story it deserves it own thread. If someone starts a thread over some trivial shit that should be in a OaO, it can be merged or purged as needed. Plus, am I the only one that never views "One and Only" at face value? As in, just because there's a OaO thread, I don't care to see an individual thread on a similar or related subject. One and Only never really meant one and only to me.

    Punk Essentals?

Yes, I know that Bad Religion has been around for a long time but they play what I've always considered a 'new-school' style or sound. A band like Agent Orange or Gray Matter had more of a classic or traditional punk rock sound to me; maybe I worded it poorly, especially the part when I said "new ones". I really didn't anticipate getting everyone's Irish up with my statement.

If you could have a drink with 3 people

She does do horse porn, too. It just isn't my thing. Horse porn, with very few exceptions, doesn't interest me. Dog porn > horse porn. /ashamed that was just posted on the internet

Topic in Comic Books and Literature

Bukowski would pummel both, and be back at the bar before his ice cubes melted. Me and some friends used to talk about who of the movie badasses would win a real fight (Bronson, Bruce Lee, Stallone, Arnold, Chuck Norris, JCVD, Lundgren, etc.) ... oh, the things you think about when you're way too high.

If you could have a drink with 3 people

It took me a while, but I have my 3 ... Bukowski Bon Scott Anna Dyna (this hot beastiality porn chick ... if she's willing to fellate a dog, I'd have to think that I'd have a reasonable chance of getting some. Plus, I'm wicked curious how someone that's as hot as her gets involved in animal porn.)

If you could hang out with three board members...

I'm actually not going to name anyone, because a few of the people that I'd have thought of choosing have already chosen, & didn't choose me. So, rather than wash their balls by choosing them now, I'm just going to say it'd either me the Massholes or the people that post in the hockey threads ... at least I know I have shit in common with both groups, and it'd be easy to have conversations until the liquor really kicked in.

    Punk Essentals?

I have to admit that I'm another person that's just not a fan of the new-school pop-punk bands like NOFX, Bad Religion, etc. I don't know what it is, I like a lot of the older pop-punk acts (Descendents, Gray Matter, Agent Orange, etc) but the new ones just don't do it for me.
