Larry Robinson didn't end the career of Cam Neely. Ulfie did. Thus, the reason why I chose his sweater as the one most dangerous to wear. Most visitors get treated Ok in Boston now, the Fleet's too serene, it's difficult for us to get too angry. Wearing an old-school Habs sweater in the Garden, though, would have been treacherous. And, c'mon Max ... I defended Fraser, not Hitler. I'd die before I'd wear a shirt praising Bettman.

Steal a car. Place dead body in car. Set car on fire. Leave scene of the accident. Unless someone sees you stealing the car, or can trace the stiff back to you, you're golden. Even if the corpse isn't burned beyond repair, and the coroner can confirm that the body was dead before the car-fire, it'd be difficult to trace it back to you.

nl5: thinks about leaving the country to avoid his punishment, but realizes that the folks North of the border will just send him right back. Can't I plea bargain down to a lesser sentence? I did preface my statement with the acknowledgement that I was committing a cardinal sin. And ended it by leaving the wonderful world of the internet to go and scrub the Fraser-defending filth off of me. Maybe make me a Blackhawks fan for a season or 2? The Blue Jackets? The Devils? Anyone but the Rangers. Hell, I'd rather have to wear an Ulfie sweater to a game in Boston. Or a Claude Lemieux sweater to a game at the Joe. Just don't make me be a Rangers fan. (Even Chris' cattle prod punishment would be easier to stomach than rooting for the Blueshirts).

As a hockey fan, this might be one of the most difficult things that I've ever done, but I'm about to stick up for Kerry Fraser ... If he called those penalties, causing a 5-on-3, in the third period, you'd have a right to bitch. If he called those penalties in the second, you might have a right to bitch. But calling them 3 minutes into the game shouldn't have a direct effect on the outcome. Your boys had 57 minutes to recover from it and didn't. Yes, losing a 1-0 game sucks, but to say that Fraser "gift-wrapped" one for Tampa is a joke. If the Flames had been able to put one past Khabibulin, they wouldn't have lost. Ok, now I feel officially dirty ... how could I ever justify something that Fraser did?!? Time to take a quick shower, wash the filth off my hands.

I must have painfully different taste in movies than all of you all ... out of the 4 left, one of them I've seen a few times and didn't like (BTtF), one I've seen only once and didn't like (Pulp Fiction), one I've seen once and thought it was good but wicked overrated (Res. Dogs) and one that I haven't bothered to see yet (KBv1). So, I'll have to go with: Back to the Future and Reservoir Dogs

Man hangs self after having sex with hen
nl5xsk1 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in No Holds Barred
(not to take away from the bad-joke competetion but ...) Don't chickens die when they get 'raped' by humans? I remember reading on a bestiality message board (long story, don't ask) that even the dog-fuckers thought that people that had sex with chickens were assholes for doing that, that it tore up the chickens insides and after a fucking it'd be too torn up to survive. Or something like that. -
Do it ... come to the dark side. I've been shaving my head for almost 10 years now, and don't know if I'll ever grow it back (unless some day a girlfriend becomes a wife that keeps my balls in her purse and demands that I do so. Then, if she's hot enough, maybe. But I digress ...).

No, if it was Mike's, each article would have a very vague title and you'd have to open every one to see if it's something you cared enough to read.

Hmmmm ... post a thread on a board that's probably 75% American about how the most popular sport in their country sucks. Makes sense, I guess. To say that American football "is mostly running 3 yards, faling, and getting 10 fatsos over you" is like saying your football is just a guy kicking a ball. It ignores everything that's actually, you know, exciting, and focuses on the most tedious action. (and the fact that soccer players run up to each other and hug when they happen to score a goal is more homoerotic than ANYTHING that happens in American football). When I was in the UK last year, all my co-workers used to rant and rave about how their players ran for the full 90 minutes. Well, I watched it, and to be honest, they don't. Some sprint occasionally, but most of the players spend a fair amount of time either jogging or just walking (or even just standing there). They probably don't do much more running than an NHL defenseman does skating. Lastly, the fact that you have to use a game from SIX YEARS AGO to give an example of a really action-packed game is laughable. When was the last one before that, late-80's?

The Streets is a-ok in my book. I liked Pirate Material better than the new one, but this one might grow on me. And MissMattitude - while I won't necessarily say I agree that his lyrics are 'genius - it's kind of bullshit to take one part of one song and say that nothing he does is great. Any band/artist has some shit lyrics or songs. No one is perfect.

"Idol" most watched prime-time series of the 2003-
nl5xsk1 replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Am I the only one that doesn't watch AI? I've never seen 2 minutes of the show (I've never even seen that horrible "She Bangs" Asian guy that everyone giggles at) - it seems like EVERYONE else watches this show. I'm not the only abstainer ... am I?!? -
Lisa, indeed, is one of the worst characters in the history of TV ... not quite as piss-annoying as the mom on King of the Hill, but pretty fucking close. And I'm not a huge fan of Streetcar Named Marge ... the Homer scenes are Golden, but too much Marge for my liking. (I find Marge almost as annoying as Lisa. The only Simpons that I actually find funny are Homer, Granpda, and Maggie. The rest could be killed off and I'd sleep at night.)

I'm going to wait until I hear the whole story before condemning the cop ... but if there's not extraordinary circumstances around this, then this guy is fucked. And fucked up.

I'd agree more if I only posted that one paragraph and then nothing else ... it's the act of only posting a "I hate what you guys are talking about" message that irks me. At least I was going to be talking about the subject at hand as well.

Off the subject, but was he really a Nazi? There's a song by the punk band MDC called "John Wayne was a Nazi" but I didn't think that they meant literally.

While I think it's a great move for the Panthers, I'm not 100% sold on Martin being a Cup-caliber coach. He'll work well with Keenen, and the duo will definitely help that team improve. With them, and the young talent that they have, the Panthers could end up being a pretty good team in a year or two.

Kane & Baby-Kane vs. Shane & Baby-Shane. Hell in the Cell. And you just know that there'd be a swerve, and Baby-Shane would turn on his old man.

Looking at the positive, at least they'd be writing an angle that would have to last 9 months ... and long-term planning is a good thing.

We have that mentality in life (e.g. war, politics, entertainment, etc) but not in sports, really. There aren't many Americans rooting for the Lightning purely because the Flames are from Canada. Or if the Blue Jays, Expos, or Raptors made the World Series or NBA Finals, people wouldn't root against them purely because they weren't American.
-
I don't get some people ... if your city has won a championship in the last 10-15 years, you can't say that you're really that tortured. There are only 4 major sports, and one winner in each, so it's not like a lot of teams get to win a title. Leave the tortured tag to the cities that have gone decades without a title. So, even though your team has made the playoffs for most of, if not all of, your entire life, you still think you've been tortured?!?
-
It cracks me up how much it seems the Canadians are having an "us-vs.-them" mentality to this Cup ... like it's Canada vs. the US, not the Flames vs. the Lightning. (nevermind the fact that I'm pretty sure both teams are predominantly Canadian in origin). Personally, if I was an Oilers fan (for example) I'd be rooting for TB ... I'd rather see a team that I'm apathetic about win the Cup than the team that I've been raised to root against. Like, I'm a Flyers-hater, and would be rooting against them regardless of who they were playing, and regardless of where that team was from. Yes, I'd be rooting for a non-American team over the Flyers.
-
The quote above is the only reason I hate being from Boston ... the Celtics have won more NBA titles than any other team. The Bruins had one of the longest streaks of "consecutive years making the playoffs" of any team, in any sport, of all time. The Pats win 2 of the last 3 Super Bowls. But my city is 'tortured' because the Red Sox haven't won the World Series. Damnit, other than the knuckle-draggers who haven't evolved enough to care about a team other than the Sox, we're all living a pretty charmed life here in Boston. nl5: would rather the B's win a Cup than the Sox win a dozen World Series in a row. (and count me with those that say that Cleveland should be the #1 city. Yes, they have Lebron right now, but remember when Grant Hill was the NBA's Golden Child? All athletes are just an injury away from saying sayonara)

Yes and no. Does it star Clint Eastwood? Then yes. Does it star anyone else BUT Clint Eastwood? Then, no, I normally don't. And I don't count Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid as a western per-se ... but if I have to count it as one, then my Clint Eastwood rule is null and void.

I agree with Untouchable ... it pisses me off that NYC is supposed to be untouchable (no pun intended) now from any reference in a fictional disaster movie. Even when movies use cities other than New York, pissants still say "it's too reminiscent of NY and 9/11" or something similar. So, most of this guy's bluster was lost on me due to my being too focused on his 9/11 comparisons.
