    Best Live Album

I'm only going to mention ones that weren't already mentioned: Sabbath - Live at Last Circle Jerks - Gig Agnostic Front - Live at CBGBs Phish - most of the live shows that they've released have been pretty good shows. And I have to give a huge credit to notJames for mentioning Liveage ... that's the one that I was going to list if no one else had already (and I'd really thought that no one else would mention it at all)

    Stacy turns down Playboy

If they can't get Stacey, Victoria would be be my top choice, far and away. And I'd rather have Shaniqua or Miss Jackie than Molly. She just does absolutely nothing for me. Sorry.

    Ok...WTF is that???

Getting Edge on Raw would be pretty easy ... Jericho is getting outnumbered by X & Hardy every week, and Trish says she knows just the person (whispers it into Jericho's ear) ... Jericho smiles and says that it's a great idea and uses some loophole to get Edge onto Raw (maybe he's still owed his one 'favor' for SS)

    Malice aka Gigantes found dead

I never understand this board. More often than not, when someone dies, people trip over their dicks in a race to say how much he was loved and how much he'll be missed (e.g. the kid from Ladybugs) but then this guy dies and it's like people don't give a shit, they'd rather talk about how much he sucked. I thought he was pretty entertaining, not necessarily the best big man but certainly not the worst. As sacrilege as this might be on TSM, I've probably watched and enjoyed more Wall matches than Rey Jr. matches. Sadly, that's not even an exaggeration.

    Shannon Ward/Daffney released

2GOLD, I'll take your money ... the correct answer would have been "she wasn't blonde hair/blue eye/fake rack attractive so we couldn't think of anything for her". You get partial credit, but I'm sure if she signed up for the boobie upgrade, she'd still be employed.

    Funniest people of all time

Pryor ... Foxx (Redd, NOT Jamie) ... Kaufman. That is all. And it's not fair to compare Williams to Carrey. RW had the advantage of lots and lots and lots of coke. Look how many people were funnier in the days of the Columbian Marching Powder: Williams, Chase, Martin. As soon as they went clean, their humor levels plummeted. Of course, having said that, both Carrey and Williams are painfully overrated and funny about 1% of the time.

One and Only NFL Week 14 Thread

Unless they're just trying to be antagotinistic, there's really no way anyone can say that the Eagles are the best team in the NFL right now. A win over the over-rated Cowboys (no matter how big the win was) isn't enough to leapfrog a team from the 5th best in the league to the first. My new top 5: 1. New England (up one spot from where I had them after last week) 2. KC (down one spot) 3. Philly (up two spots) 4. Indy (same spot) 5. Tennessee (down 2 spots) Yes, I'm from Boston so I might be a bit biased, but 7-0 against teams with winning records is huge. They might not win pretty games, but you don't get extra credit for winning pretty. I'd take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day of the week.

    Grammy Nominees Announced

Fuck that, punks still not dead. Entire cities had punk explosions long after the Clash signed with a major label. Do you really think that the whole West Coast scene wasn't punk rock (Flipper, DKs, Black Flag, Circle Jerks,et al)? Or DC (Bad Brains, Teen Idles, GI)? Hell, The Exploited are still touring, and they're as punk as anyone. And even though Rancid is wicked radio friendly, they're still punk. And there are tons of bands in every city in America that are still full-on punk. And as someone who spent most of his formulative years as a punk, trust me, it was never cool.

The OAO NHL 2003-2004 Season Thread

I don't know, and I have a bad feeling they're just getting my hopes up, but I'm going to enjoy it while I have the chance. TC, congrats on a big win last night. The only consolation that I had while watching my favorite hockey get shelled last night was the knowledge that I had Belfour as my fantasy starter, and one of my friends had Potvin in net.

    Ric Flair DVD

I bought it only for the old-school stuff (and by old-school, I mean older than Flair-Steamboat). It's awesome watching clips from the old TBS shows, from the 85,86,87 era. If that's the kind of Flair you're looking for, it's worth getting. The only caveat that I'll offer is it leaves you wanting to watch more of those shows, and less just Flair-focused stuff. Now, if the wwe decides to put out a "Best-of-the-NWA 1986" DVD, I'll be the first in line to buy it. And if it helps you make up your mind, I also don't buy wrestling DVD's ... I gaffled two ECW from an ex-roommate, but watched them so infrequently I have no idea where they are. For all I know, he stole them back. So, the Flair one is the first, and only, wrestling DVD that I've bought.
  13. I'm astounded that people choose random strangers that really don't effect their lives at all. Me? I'd either choose the guy that's now dating my ex-girlfriend, or the husband of the girl that I wish was with me instead. Purely selfish, if the girls were single I'd have a chance.

Biggest wrestler never to wrestle at Wrestlemania

Geogre Wells made it to A WM, Sam Houston made it to a WM, The Gooker made it to WM... Greg was a solid wrestler, had Verne not been his dad, then he would've probably made the jump w/Brunzell in 85 and enjoyed a few years in the mid card of the WWF You shouldn't compare Gagne to the worst of those that did ... the question was who was the biggest name NOT to make it. Why include Gagne but not someone like Jimmy Valiant? Or Manny Fernandez? Or Chris Adams? Or Iceman Parsons? Or any of the other b-list guys from the other leagues in the 80s/early 90s? I'm not knocking Gagne outright, just amazed that his name would come up as a major name to have not made it. People like Sting make sense. People like Gagne do not.

    Best Beatles Cover

Like said earlier, I'm kind of a Beatles hater, so I really didn't care for their versions, but Phish covered the entire White Album as a Halloween "costume" one year, and continued covering Day in the Life for a while afterwards. (they might have kept doing While My Guitar Gently Weeps, too, but a lot of my Phish concert memories are a bit, ahem, hazy.)

    Best Team in the AFC

New England has one of the worst running back triads in the league. I'd take Eddie George over the Cloud/Faulk/Smith trio any day of the week. Luckily for the New England backs the Pats also have the worst punter in the league. We're all too busy hating him to really get our hatred up for the RBs.

Us American scum are watching the heritage games

Is Kerry Fraser the worst official in the League, or does it just seem that way because he's so easy to hate? The ones that I most detest are the ones that are the most memorable (Fraser, Collins, Marouelli) so their mistakes are the ones that most stick out in my mind. Now that Stewart's retired, there's really only one zebra that I don't hate now, and that's Scapinello. And even that is mostly personal - I was at a game years ago (I was maybe 15 or so) and me and my friends snuck down to the front row, and spent more time cheering on "Scappy" than we did either the Bruins OR the Oilers. Halfway through the 3rd period, he skated by and tossed me a game-used puck. So, I have a puck that was on the same ice as Messier, Bourque, and Neely. Yes, Scappy rules.

    Best Team in the AFC

We'll find out for sure once the two teams play each other, I guess. I'm going by who I think has a better chance of representing the AFC in the Super Bowl (and thus has a better chance of winning it) and I just can't see the Colts pulling it off. The Pats offense is pretty banged up right now, and still put a ton of points on the board. And Indy's got some injuries of their own to worry about now (nothing as severe as McNair being out, though) and because of that couldn't even put in their normal goal-line offense when it was down to crunch time against New England on Sunday. If Indy beats Tennessee on Sunday, I'll gladly flip-flop the two teams and put the Colts as the #3 team in the AFC (and thus the #4 team in the league right now)
  20. Lady Maxine (aka Mad Maxine) who sported the tall Wattie Buchan-style punk rock mohawk. Something about a girl with a 10" tall hawk just fires me up.

Biggest wrestler never to wrestle at Wrestlemania

The thing that amazes me most about this thread is the notion that Greg freaking Gagne was good enough to wrestle at a Wrestlemania. The guy was about 180 lbs of dropkicking fury ... how the hell could he have fit onto a Wrestlemania card?!?

    Best Team in the AFC

I love the fact that Fox is continuing with their "all the big stories are in the NFC, and the NFC is on Fox!" advertising blitz. Ummm, bad news, Fox. Other than Parcells, and lately Keyshawn, most of the big stories have been in the AFC this year: KC and their amazing start, the Bengals and the way that Lewis has turned them around, the Patriots 8-game unbeaten streak, the battle for the division lead between the Colts and Titans. I'd put the list of top teams in the AFC as: 1. New England 2. Kansas City 3. Tennessee 4. Indianapolis 5. Denver 6. Miami 7. Cincinnati 8. Baltimore (this was supposed to be a top 10 list but I can't think of another team really worthy of a spot ... sorry, Texans fans.)

    Trish/Jerich & Xitan/Lita

I'll have to admit that I didn't watch enough Raw to know exactly how Jericho was acting when laughing about the bet w/X, but the first thing that I thought of when I read this thread was what chaosrage said: that Jericho will have decided that even though it started as a bet, he really does dig Trish. The story would have progressed to him trying to prove himself to her, but her being skeptical and cynical. Finally, after he wrestles as a tweener for a month or so, he finally does something to prove himself to her and goes full on face. Ultimately, though, he ends up deciding that he prefers being a heel and turns on her again. (but the turn from heel-to-tweener-to-face takes a few months, and then the eventual heel re-turn wouldn't be until mid-next year ... none of this change back and forth in a week or two bullshit)

    MTV's 22 Greatest CDs

From what I've heard, MTV put together a list of choices and let the people that visited the web page vote on their favorites. Which would explain why some random choices got so much love (e.g. Alanis or those tools in Linkin Park). But I'm surprised that MTV didn't just ignore the results and continue the verbal fellatio that they've historically been giving to Eminmen and Nirvana.

    Best Beatles Cover

I'm a big fan of Gray Matter's versions of I am the Walrus and I've Just Seen a Face ... but I should admit that I'm totally not a Beatles fan, so I really haven't listened to many of the other covers people have mentioned in this thread.
