The seats are together because that's the ones that the ticket brokers got (ticket brokers = stores that sell tickets at inflated rates. Basically, legal scalping.) Most likely, one guy waited in line and bought X number of tickets, which he sold to the various stores. He makes his money back with extra, and they make their money back plus a lot extra.

The only real negative that I can see in this is that Pedro will bitch and moan like a little girl when Schilling gets more love from the Boston fans & media than he does. He'll be crying "boo hoo hoo, no one respects me" even though Schilling will have better stats and a better relationship with Boston than Petey.

Does anyone know if Saturday's legends game btwn the Canadiens and the Oilers be available on the hockey Center-Ice package? I'd like to think that it will, but don't want to get my hopes up if it's not going to be televised here in the States.

The two that I can think of as possibilities that I forgot on my list are St Louis (likely, and original 12 team with decent fan support) or Columbus (cold enough, and as an expansion team might have enough support.) But otherwise, I'm sticking by my statement. Chicago can't even sell out the United Center, why would they want to play at a bigger place? None of the NY teams sell out - only the proposed NYR-NYI game in Central Park would even come close to drawing. (Can you imagine the debacle of putting either the Sabres or Devils into the equation?) Pittsburgh? Unlikely. Carolina? Too warm, too little support. Washington? Too little support. Too warm for: the California teams, the Florida teams, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, Phoenix. I'm guessing I'm missing some team, but off the top of my head, I can't think of another US team that would or should try something like this.

Oh, I agree that the guy is screwed (literally, too. Good thing that he's such a fan of rape, it looks like he'll be living la vida loca while visiting the Gray Bar Motel for a few years). But, I'll stick by my passed out/blacked out differentiation. I black out more than I care to admit ("hi, my name is NL5 and I have a drinking problem" "hello NL5") but couldn't tell you the last time I actually passed out and needed physical assistance to be moved.

US teams that could/would support an outdoor game: Detroit Minnesota Denver (Avs) Boston Philly Most other cities are either too warm, or just don't support their teams enough to justify doing it. It'd be fucking embarressing to see an outdoor game with a ton of empty seats (NYR-NYI, I'm looking at you).

He allegedly did it in one of the 2 rooms without a camera. Yes, bad idea to do it in the Real World house, but good idea to choose one of the few rooms without a camera. **BTW, I am NOT saying rape (anywhere) is a good idea. Sure he did it in a room without a camera, but the cameras will pick him up basically carrying her into the bathroom, and then carrying her out of the bathroom to the couch. Then going to find the female cast member that helped him. He's fucked. -edit- plus the woman was smart enough to go to the hospital and get examined asap. Meaning that the doctors have dna evidence (most likely) and whatnot. Re-read the article ... she blacked out, not passed out, so she most likely walked into the bathroom rather than was carried in, and it wasn't the alleged rapist that carried her out, but another nameless person who found her and carried her out. The guy that allegedly raped her will most likely argue that it was consensual sex. Which it isn't, if the girl was blacked out. If the person isn't in a position to say no, it's not necessarily a yes.

Speaking as a basketball hater, how long until the NBA plays an outdoor game and gets 1000% more attention and publicity for it?

Come on, give the Texans some credit. They've played tough in most of their games so far. Don't let their record reflect on their effort. As for the WR thing, did I miss an injury to Troy Brown? They still have a decent receiving group, especially with Troy as the #1. I didn't realize how many people would have been pissed at my selling the Texans short. I just think that a team that's got Banks at QB - regardless of their record - shouldn't have been such a challenge for a team that has Super Bowl aspirations. It's just one of the games that New England should have dominated, not barely won in OT. And, yes, Brown is injured right now, as is the #2 receiver (Givens) so our starting two are normally a 2nd year guy and a rookie, with either recent pickups Dedric Ward or JJ Stokes filling out the receiving corps.

Another way that I know that I'm not a "smark" ... I'd take a Tommy Dreamer match over an American Dragon match any day of the week.

Give me a bottle of anything. And a glazed doughnut. To go. (a shiny nickel to anyone that gets the reference.)

It's amazing how little we agree on this ... even as a Patriots fan, I feel like Tennessee is the best team in football right now. Indy is hurting with injuries, and looked like shit last week against Buffalo. The Pats barely beat the Texans, and are decimated at the WR position. And the Chiefs have no defense; once the cold weather rolls through and their offense slows down a bit, they're done. The Titans are the most complete team in the league right now, and if McNair's not too injured think that they have the best chance of heading to Houston for the Super Bowl.

The problem is the B's don't have a rival worthy of an outdoor game right now; the Habs would work, but like CChris said, the Leafs would draw better. Technically, at this point, I think a Leafs-B's matchup would draw better than a Habs-B's matchup would, too. Until the Bruins have a matchup worthy of a bigass outdoor game, I'd settle for the Beanpot tournament being played outdoors instead of at the Fleet. Put a rink in Fenway for a weekend, and play the tourney there.

This asshole still isn't happy. I'll be happy when hockey gets comparable attention to basketball, baseball, golf and NASCAR. And is this the Top 10 plays of the week, so it would cover all sports? Having not watched the Top 10, let me ask how many of them were repetitive dunks by college dropouts? Because heaven forbid the first outdoor game in the 80+ year history of the league gets some attention when I could be seeing a 7 foot millionaire jump up and down.

Better question ... why aren't there any non-black comedians appearing on the show? (or, more likely, why aren't any being announced?) Pryor is one of the funniest comedians of all time, and was easily more than just a "black comic". With that list of appearances, a lot of mainstream fans might not tune in. (hell, I love Richard Pryor and with both Foxx and Goldberg appearing on the show, I might not watch it)

I watched part of the show the other morning, while getting ready for work, and would definitely check it out if/when they replayed it. It seemed much better than the piece of crap US VMAs. "If Christina Aguilera has to resort to throwing darts at my head after everything she's achieved and everything she's done, then she's a really sad, sorry person," Kelly said. "And I take it as a complete compliment." ... what the fuck is Kelly thinking? She's accusing Aguilera of not accomplishing anything, meanwhile she herself is only famous because her father is famous, and her level of fame is barely above Gilbert Gottfried level. Nice career, Kelly.

It's a catch-22 ... hockey isn't popular in places other than the ones mentioned (New England, Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado, etc.) because it's not shown there. If ESPN showed as many hockey highlights as they do basketball highlights, then fans in Oklahoma or Nebraska or Oregon or Louisiana would start to learn more players names, and teams, and rivalries. Show a game that's got a fight or two, a few pretty goals, a big hit or three, and a few great saves, and people will start to care more about the game. If they don't see any highlights, then they have no reason to become a fan of the game. Show it, and they will come. And fuck ESPN anyways, I'll get the hockey package until the day I die, and use The Hockey News for my information anyways.

I'm an American and I think those ads are bullshit. Especially coming from ESPN, who'd rather show a basketball game between two piece of shit colleges that I've never heard of than show an NHL game. ESPN will grace us with occasional hockey coverage but do so with an ad that their people are "making" hockey here in America. Just another reason to hate ESPN.

I agree ... her body is smoking, but her face is average at best. I'm absolutely stunned at how much publicity fucking Britney gets. It's becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy, where people think that she's worth writing about, so they write about her, so people think she's more worth writing about, so they write more, etc. etc. etc.

Beefeater ... best gin out there, and not too expensive. Plus, their new Beefeater Wet (I think that's what it's called) is smooth enough to drink neat. Good, good stuff.

A perfect example of a guy that was mad over back in the day but would be shit on if he appeared now would be Nikita Koloff. The guy was a multiple time TT champ, had a huge run as the US champ (best-of-7 series w/ Magnum TA was majorly over) and had an extended run as a major threat to Flair's belt. But the guy could barely do a move beyond punch/kick/clothesline (oops, I mean Russian Sickle).

Hey, at least they're pushing younger talent. Everyone loves Benoit and all, but he is an older guy; it's never a bad thing to give a young guy a little more main event exposure.

Early weather reports are indicating temperatures at around 15 degrees. Unless the report that I'd heard was in celsius, they shouldn't have much problem keeping the ice frozen, even with the stadium lights on.
