It was the Truth Commission, actually. I always thought that they could have done more with the Truth Commission by giving them a South African/racist gimmick, and having them fued with NoD & Las Boricuas. Then again, I just really dig racist gimmicks.

Who won the rematch?!? Oh, and thanks for posting these, cawthon ... they're always a fun read.

X Oh come on... sure Carny is a 24 y/o who has to inflate his raisins by physically threatening people over the internet... but he's still marginally above Matt. Fite him u pozer.

Disregard Jersey ... the don't play in a town or a city, they play off an exit ramp on the Jersey turnpike. So, it's inconvenient for ANYONE to get to it. As far as I remember, there isn't any public transportation, so if you're going to go to a Devils game, you have to jump on the highway (and potentially pay tolls) to watch them play in an outdated, embarassing arena. They've never gotten good attendance, and never will until they move to a real city with a real arena. The Blackhawks, again, are a bad example. The Wolves sell out every game, even though they're an AHL team in an NHL market, because the fans don't hate their owner. Until Wirtz sells the 'hawks, they're going to struggle with attendance. They'd need to become a Red Wing-level powerhouse to draw significant fans. (Boston, sadly, is on their way to this level, too ... the apathy around here is disgusting. The Massholes, though, will be quicker to jump back on the bandwagon when it's time to be a fairweather fan). No excuses for the Blues & their fans, though ... And I'd also like to throw in the fact that the attendance stats referenced on most of those kind of pages are meaningless. Those reference tickets sold, and since many of those are season tickets that companies purchase in advance (and don't use) ... it's hard to say that those numbers are absolute and infallible. I watched most of the B's games this year, and it's laughable to think that they averaged 87% capacity.

The Rangers quote just struck me as so damning when I first read it ... anything less than a dominating performance by the Rangers and that post was just begging to be mocked. And, thus, when I got the opportunity, I mocked. Other than that one post, though, banky, I remember nothing about you. No new hobbies are necessary. Back on topic: The Devils and Senators lost their series' for the same reason: while they had better players (on paper), they really didn't have the better teams (on the ice). Even though I picked Ottawa & NJD to advance, I'm not terribly surprised that it's Carolina & Buffalo in the Eastern finals.

3. James Dean 2. Milky. 1. Steve McQueen To think otherwise would be uncivilized.

You look less like an ugly girl and more like a serial killer now, Jugs. Needless to say, it's an improvement. Now post a picture with some clown paint.

you know diddly Not everyone knows hockey as well as you do, banky ... remember this gem?:

People know the Macarena, too ... doesn't mean it's legendary.

See, I disagree ... there's more to Survivor than just being the best at challenges. I think it's more important to outwit your opponents than to outplay them, really, and Terry's done a pisspoor job of outwitting anyone. If anything, he's (like starvenger wisely pointed out) come across as cocky, and even confrontational. Winning every challenge on the game is great, and shows physical dominance. But his inability to even be a remotely likable to the other Survivors makes him as unworthy a winner as any of the other three.

I'd consider Biohazard more legendary than Skid Row. Skid Row was more famous, but they were really a one-album wonder that had a shelf-life of just a few years. Biohazard was pretty big in the NYHC scene for YEARS. Plus, he's seemingly being billed as the 5th, and thus least famous, member. And, yeah, the music'll suck.

Yeah, Terry definitely came across as a big prick last night. Between crying that "Aras has been gone a long time, Jeff!" and then bitching about mis-interpreting the rules, and then whining about where Cirie set down her torch ... he just came across as a major prick. I'd be happy if either Danielle or Cirie win the million; and very unhappy if either Terry or Aras do. So, after the opening minutes of Sunday's episode, I'll be down to one person to root for.

I absolutely loved the usage of the autopsy tape ... so creepy to hear the girl screaming as she was being cut open. And the doctor giving the tape to Eko & saying "I never want to listen to that tape again" ... just awesome. And I'm another person that scratches my head when people say that the season is moving too slowly or that they're not answering enough questions. This isn't Scooby Doo, where they have to answer all the questions by the end of the hour. It's a serial show that's built to give some answers but to follow each answer with more questions. Getting all the answers right away would be like reading the last chapter in a 'who-done-it?' book and skipping all the fun parts.

I have to say that I strongly disagree with the folks that are saying certain match-ups will be 'bad for hockey' or any of that shit. Regardless of WHO'S playing in the Cup, the series will largely be ignored by ESPN. Since the NBA is on ABC, it's in their be$t intere$t to promote the fuck out of basketball and ignore hockey. And, thus, regardless of who's playing in the Cup, the games will get 3 minutes of coverage with minimal highlights. Let's just hope for the best match-ups on the ice, and not care about how good the ratings will be or how many new fans the match-up will draw.

Pauly Shore was a nobody at that point too. The movie did $40 million at the box office, which means it did alot of repeat business with people saying "dude, you have to check this movie out. There's this incredibly retarded dude who can make sound effects with his hand". Pauly Shore was a "nobody" even though he had had his own show on MTV for a long while before Encino Man, etc, came out? I disagree. I wouldn't say that he was a big star (not by any stretch of the imagination) but he certainly wasn't a nobody.

At least that comment was humorous.

What a pointless & humorless thread.

Albert was into the fetish/body modification scene in real life, so now that he's not covered in fur it's not surprising that he'd get some ink done. And would I be beating a deadhorse to take this time to brag about seeing Albert at a "porno party"/fetish fair a few years ago? He became a guilty pleasure of mine for that fact alone. I'd love it if the WWE re-hired him, regardless of how average (at best) his workrate is.

See, that's where we differ, Kot909 ... the party's just warming up for me when the golden showers start.

Alright, so Finlay is awesome and most of us love the guy.

I'm surprised no one's made a "Smackdown already has a midget; he's bombing as the champion right now" joke. -
There's no convincing to it, just yell "SHIRTS OFF FOR KIPRUSOFT" and ladies will take off their shirts. Let me reword it my statement then: it takes more than drunken meatheads leering while drunken girls show their tirts on the Red Mile to become the best fans in the league, IMHO.

I think that Cirie will get 'outed' for her role in the Courtney & Shane eliminations, and that will haunt her in the F2. I think that she'll get to face the jury, and the jury will skewer her and pick against her as a result.
-
At this point, though, there aren't any characters that are purely hiding behind a numbers game. The ones that were (Danielle & Cirie, especially) have stood up & made their play by voting off the Shaniac. They might not be dominating the challenges, but they're doing a lot more than just lurking out & quietly going with the flow, the way some previous Survivors have.

And it'd be a whole lot of fun to go and 'protest' his funeral much the same way him & his idiotic followers have protested the funerals of deceased soldiers.
