In addendum, since I have more time: The Duke LAX program has had less legal issues than Nebraska football, or Miami (FL) football, or FSU football ... any and all of those programs are more worthy of reprimand than Duke LAX. And more than any of them is Colorado football. They deserve to be reprimanded most of all. Unless, of course, this rape case turns out to be an encouraged act by the LAX program.

This is such a stupid fucking thread ... for starters, you are seemingly implying that this case is being ignored or under-covered because it was 3 white guys raping a black woman. (well, at least I'm presuming that's your intent by stating that the outrage would be bigger if it was three black athletes raping a white woman). I call bullshit on that, as it's been all over ESPN and the 24 hour news networks (I've seen it on both CNN & Fox News, and I rarely watch any of those types of networks). It's gotten plenty of coverage and is being treated very seriously. No less seriously than it would be if it were three white guys raping a white woman, or three black guys raping a black woman, or three people of three different races raping a mixed-woman. Second of all, your implication that it would be a bigger story if it was three blacks raping a white woman ... is unproven. And is unverifiable. There isn't an exact case to compare it to, there's no "apples for apples" comparisons. So to say that it'd be a bigger story is an opinion and shouldn't be stated as a fact. Yes, the media tends to hype the "missing white woman" cases more than when minorities are missing, but the sad truth is the "missing white woman" cases draw a larger audience, and thus make more money for the news agency. A case like this is money for the news agency regardless of the color of the perps skin. A major sports program, which Duke LAX is, having an incident like this is huge news. Next, NY Yankees claim that "She probably realized what she done and figured she could make some money out of it. The woman is a fucking WHORE looking to make a quick buck." is beyond offensive. Dude, the woman was held down and raped. She didn't deserve anything. You, my fellow poster, are an idiot. (mods can warn me for saying that out of HD. I don't mind, and I'd say it again in a situation like this.) Next, yes, there is a lot of racism at Duke. There's still a lot of racism in many parts of North Carolina. But to say that Duke, which suspended the entire LAX program while this is being investigated, is to blame or is 'allowing' racism, is a farce. Plus, every white member of the LAX team provided a DNA sample; they seem to be pretty keen on finding the assholes that did this. And I think Angel's comment about the black guy was based on the fact that of the 47 person team, 46 were white ... and thus the question of what he was up to. I don't think there was any hidden racist agenda behind the question. (Satanic Angel, correct me if I'm wrong). This is a horrible, disgusting situation. To make it a black versus white thing is unnecessary.

My only rebuttal (and it's just playing Devil's Advocate) is that there's no guarantee that Casaya alliance will stay strong long enough for that all to come to fruition. I was hoping that Terry was going to lose the IC last night, and thus need to use his Immunity Idol last night. Casaya votes Terry; La Mina votes Shane; Terry whips out his idol and <voila> Shane's eliminated as a result of finishing second. And, yeah, I couldn't figure out the angle that he was playing with the Idol last night, in the teasers for next week. And I have no reason to get out more, I actually know women that are more attrachive (see, I'm using your word already!) than Leena, too. I hate to both butter my bread on both sides AND burn two bridges at once at the same time, but the more I read Hart-marks blindly defending him as if he's done no wrong & Michaels is 100% wrong, the more I dislike Bret Hart. And the more I hear Micheals-marks blingly defending him as if he's done no wrong & Hart is the one that needs to grow up, the more I dislike Sean Michaels.
