Awesome.

The last thing the Bruins needed was another "decent 3rd or 4th line player", Vigo. The team already has: Isbister, Axelsson, Primeau, LaCouture, Green, Fitzgerald, Langfeld, and Czerkawski. Reasoner's not a horrendous pick-up, but he's not what the Bruins needed, and if Reasoner/Stasny/draft pick was the best package that was offered for Samsonov, they should have kept Sammy.

Very good point, Starvenger ... I just don't know if anyone on Casaya is smart enough to think that way.
-
I think that you're giving the B's too much credit, max ... Sturm-Bergeron-Boyes is a given. But I think that (when healthy) they slide Isbister on the second line with Primeau & Murray, even though Axelsson is a much better offensive threat. I also think that they're going to want to give the new guys some significant ice time to justify their acquisitions, so the 3rd line would be Axelsson-Reasoner-Czerkawski. And then the 4th line would be LaCouture-Green-Fitzgerald. The lines you hypothesized include too many young guys that might show something for the future ... why bother playing them when you have such stalwarts as Reasoner, Czerkawski, & Fitzgerald on the roster? Amazingly, between injuries & horrible trades, the defensive pairings now look MUCH better than the forwards. And the D is what I was most concerned with back in October & November.

If you're sitting there and bringing you food & beverages, it doesn't make a difference if it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, a mid-day snack or a late night drunk-meal ... you tip. If you're too cheap to tip, than go to the grocery store and make yourself a meal. Or just get the food to go.

I disagree. Sally > Dan. She's done better in each challenge, except for the two that they did equally as bad in (the fish toss from last week & the puzzle from last night). Plus, I think it'd be advantageous to go into the merge with her rather than with Dan ... she might be able to re-allign with the "young girls" and bring them over to a larger alliance, rather than just make it tribe vs. tribe at the merge. Even if she hadn't been sent to Exile Island, if I was the young guys from La Mina, I'd have flipped on Tom & voted him off instead of Sally. Plus, Sally's hot. I think after the merge this season will be less "tribe vs. tribe" than in the past. I just don't see anyone in Casaya really caring enough about each other to stay alligned. The only reason that I think keeping Shane would be a good idea is he'd be perfect to take to the F2. EVERYONE hates him, and no one would vote to give him the money. Other than that, though, I can't think of a single reason to keep him around ... why do you think it'd be a mistake?

baron, the guy's had ONE season where he broke 30 points in his entire career, has a whopping 45 career goals, and has been a disappointment in both St Louis & Edmonton ... why is he going to become anything better than a 4th liner in Boston? The Bruins will try to make him a productive member of the team, but he is what he is: a 4th liner.
-
How is it that the inept team that can't get along and has (seemingly) inferior members is dominating these challenges? How is it that the 'better' team will go into the merge with - at best - 4 people, while the tribe that seemingly does nothing but fight will go in with at least 5? And most importantly, if Shane is as annoying in real life as he is on the island, how is he NOT getting his ass kicked on a daily basis?

Boynton's one of the few Bruins left that gives a damn. It looked like he was ready to kill Ribeiro if given the chance. April 1 & April 4, in Montreal, could be very interesting games ... especially since the B's will be long eliminated from playoff contention by then. Listening to MOC justify the transactions (and more specifically, the non-trades) before the game and during the 1st period made me so angry it's almost laughable. Last night's starting 12 forwards included SIX guys that legitimately should be in the AHL or retired, and that's not including the incoming Czerkawski, Reasoner, or Stasny. It's quite obvious that this is NOT a playoff-calibre team, why NOT trade Leetch, Gill, or even Axelsson (who I like, but am thinking will want to test the FA waters in the summer) and get young players or picks? And yet MOC is saying, "we couldn't afford to give up players without getting players in return" ... why not? Why not just add two or three more AHL'ers to the glorified AHL team already playing in the "Garden"? That asshole had BETTER be unemployed next year.

Sas?

Laz, next time she's playing a hometown show, I'll meet you in the front row. I'll be the one with the glittery sign telling JoJo that I <3 her.

"This guy" meaning Kimbo? Or "this guy" meaning MissingEar? Or does it really matter? I think my personal favorite thing about the "fight" is the fact that they lined up a pretty obvious tomato can for Kimbo to fight. I'm not saying that the tomato can couldn't whup my ass with ease. I'm just saying that they made sure that they lined up a real patsy for Kimbo to fight on tape. Color me unimpressed.

All the appreciation I developed for Calgary during the playoffs last year ... pissed away in one day.

That was officially a waste of time. At first I was ready to make a joke about wishing I had fat black guys to hand me my shoes and pick up my pants for me. And then I sat through a long-ass and unexciting fight. And then I wasn't in the mood for joking anymore.

No need.

don't look now but... Lushus brings the awesome.

The B's mainly moved Samsonov because of his FA status, and they were afraid to lose him for nothing at the end of the season. Instead they moved him for another player that's not worth having. Can someone confirm for me if Reasoner is a FA at year's end? (or at least point me to a page that has player's salaries & contract details, so I don't have to keep asking you all repeatedly)

Presumably the Juniors were a short-money investment (no pun intended) ... worst case scenario is that the joke bombs and they get released a few months later. Best case scenario is that it gets over and makes some money for the fed. Not that horrible of an idea, even though the likelihood of failure was huge.

Oh, great, now I have a hard on, too.

^ She also said I'm sweet. So there might be a level of sarcasm in some of the justifications.

It's obvious that you're just the Victim of a Conspiracy.

Did people really think that JoJo & HHH were related, purely because they have the same last name and are both from New England? How desolate do you guys think NE is?!?
-
The fact that it's Sergei for TBA means it's either a really good prospect or a bucket of pucks. With MOC's track record, I'm leading towards the latter. And Samsonov is going to be a FA in the offseason and ask for a ton of money, I think ... Edmonton might just be renting him rather than planning on keeping him long term.

Oh. Nevermind then. I think that everyone has some level of nationalism in them ... it's just that most normal, sane people realize that the color of the skin of their fellow countrymen is irrelevent. Like you said, Invader, as long as they're here legally, most people are fine with immigration. If immigrants are not here legally, I'm against the idea of them being here, regardless of their skin-tone.

I like the idea of knowing why people voted a certain way. It lets people know if they're getting the vote, or if it's just a vote against the opposition. Plus, some of the people that voted for or against me are people that I have little or no past interaction with, and thus I'd be curious why I got voted for. As I said to Carni, sometimes my ego needs feeding. EDIT: And Paul sucks for voting against me.
