NOTE: I edited out a bunch of names ... But if you take away the retard gimmick, Nick Dinsmore would be great for TNA. The guy can actually wrestle, and from what I've heard he's decent on the mic. (although I've never heard him talk as Nick Dinsmore, so I might be wrong.) He'd be a decent pick-up for TNA.

I agree with the Princess. If my friend's family was adamant about how wrong it was, I'd risk my career to honor the requests of the people that I care about. But if the family was willing to keep collecting the paycheck, I wouldn't put it on myself to be the martyr.

I'm actually glad someone else threw this back in my face, because I was thinking after the CDN loss how I was going to have to mock myself if no one else did. At least I was right when I said that America was going to be a bust. And the think that makes me laugh about redbaron's Thornton = soft avatar & title ... it perfectly ignores the fact that about half the team did nothing for Canada. Did Thornton's softness prevent the other guys from scoring goals in 3 of the last 4 games? I'm not going to argue that he played well (in fact, I actually agree that he had among the worst Olympics for ANYONE on the team) ... but at least get an avatar like max's Bruins one, that rotates thorugh the various suck-tacular players (or decent players having piss-poor seasons).

Matt, let me reiterate the point that Paragon made: IT'S BEEN A FUCKING WEEK. Don't think that you've made this huge lifestyle change because 8 days ago you slowed down drinking and started working out more. I haven't done coke since last Friday ... should I be patting my back and bending over to fellate myself because I've been to the gym 4 times since my last line? If in a month, two months, six months, you're still not drinking/barely drinking & hitting the gym a lot, THEN you can say "I've made a huge lifestyle change". But don't put the cart before the fucking horse, man.

I'm actually about to do the 'take it out of your life' experiment ... I'm quitting drinking and drugs for lent. 40 days (or however long it really is) with complete sobriety. I don't think I've done that since I was 12 and started smoking pot. Rather than just quit it all cold turkey, though, I'm easing into it and taking days off leading into the big purge. And I fully admit that I'm a functioning alcoholic. Have been for years. Drink every night, binge drink at least 2 nights a week, drink alone. But I very rarely miss work for it, & manage to pay all my bills and live a normal life, so I'm obviously still functioning. It's nothing that I'm proud of but a fact's a fact.

While I agree that the ship has sailed, all the more reason to do it ... and push him as a heel. He is, in my opinion, much better suited to be a heel than a face. Yes, I recognize that they want to use him to move merchandise. But Christian still sold gear as a heel, Rock sold gear as a heel, even HHH sells well as a heel. Hogan was working class?

To send no one home happy. Given the alternative, HHH as champ again? Cena is very much the lesser of two evils. I'd end the night happy if he retains. Cena has become so unwatchable to me that Hunter is the lesser of two evils. So, the fact that he's unwatchable to you means that no one could be happy with a Cena win? And wasn't the idea of a Taker/Angle match or feud pretty much panned around here? One good match and all of a sudden it's like putting the two of them in the ring together is a guaranteed ****+ classic. Plus, I don't think a 'Taker reign makes sense, and I can't see him feeling a loss at WM at this point in his career.

I'm torn about what's worse: Digging a girl that's technically legal but looks criminally young. or Digging a girl that's technically criminally young but looks legal. I'm uncomfortable with either. Maybe if she got a few tattoos & facial piercings she'd look a little older. And then maybe I'd be singing a different tune.

And the thing that bothers me about Gumbel's statement is that it boils down to "since it's whites competing against whites, it can't be the best athletes" even though most of the athletes that are there had to win the right to be there ... and potentially beat minority athletes for that right. It makes more sense for me to say that since the guy that won the NBA dunk competition didn't compete against me, how can he really be viewed as the guy that won?

In hhhis defense, I'm willing to wager that he has the Iron Cross symbol as his wrestling logo because he likes it in real life ... which is also probably why he has it on his tour bus. Basically, I doubt that he has it on the tour bus BECAUSE it's his wrestling logo.

I think that the potential risks of adding Goldberg might outweigh the potential rewards. I'd compare him to Terrell Owens in that he can add a lot to the team/roster, but the potential risks could prove terribly detrminental to the locker room. Goldberg hasn't done enough as a team-player for me give him the benefit of the doubt. I'd be extremely hesitant to bring him in, and like you said, build him up to a world title feud with Christian. Call me a cynic or a pessimist, but I could see Goldberg saying that he shouldn't/couldn't/wouldn't do the job to someone so much smaller than him physically.
