John Grahame, from Tampa Hal Gill even being on the taxi squad is a fucking farce. Putting him on the actual team would give me a reason to route against the US team. I'd rather they put Jack Johnson out there than Hal Gill.

One of the things that might come back to haunt Moore in the lawsuit is the fact that he's a Harvard grad ... it's not like he won't have an education to fall back on. If it was, and no offense meant to anyone, some hick fresh off a farm that had two choices in life: hockey and farming, then I could see an argument that Bertuzzi took away the one chance that Moore had of living the good life. But a kid with a Harvard education, a) likely has money to begin with ... and b) has a good education to fall back on. I say that he'd have stayed in the league for a while but in a PJ Axelsson type of role (3rd liner, defensive specialist, not expected to light the lamp 25/30 times a season). The question is what the standard salary for a player like that will be in the cap-era. One million a year? More? Less?

It was technically a 12-man tag match, but I remember an old school WCCW match that was best of 5 falls, and was the Von Erichs teaming with the Freebirds to take on the Dynamic Duo, OMG, Kamala, Steve Williams & <someone else, maybe Killer Tim Brooks or Kabuki, I really don't remember the 6th heel>. Just off the charts heat, plus the 1st time I'd ever seen a best of 5 falls OR a match with more than 10 guys.

I like the fact that it's Ok for him to only want to pass Ruth's mark rather than go for the record, and has all-but admitted that surpassing the Evil White Man is his objective. If a white fella said that he only wanted to pass a black guy for #2, but wasn't concerned with breaking the all-time record, there'd be such an outcry.

While I will admit that Thornton's had a poor Olympics, it's laughable that a guy that leads the NHL in assists is getting labeled an "I" player. He must look to pass just to get the credit for the assist, rather than for getting a goal on the scoreboard for his team.

Either fuck it or eat it. I was going to say both, but the idea of accidently eating my own jism is gross. So it'd be one or the other, not both.

The powerbomb was sweet. There were a few 'moves' that made me think that someone was going to get hurt BAD during that challenge. And while I admit that I'm not a huge outdoorsy kind of guy: does anyone really believe that you can filter out bacteria by pouring water through three t-shirts, and double-layering them? It seemed kind of sketchy to me.

I officially 'fell' for Sally last night. Each season there's one female that I root for, entirely for chauvinistic, pig-headed reasons. Sally's my girl. And why would Ruth Marie make us uncomfortable? She does more for me than Courtney does. And, to get off the sexist tangent: if I was on Shane's tribe, I swear to Jebus I'd throw the next immunity challenge and send him the fuck home. He's amazingly annoying. Laughably annoying. Painfully annoying. I would break my alliance so fucking fast and send him home, just for my own sanity.

I really think that if Vince could find a way to pull it off, he'd have the diva search go on all year. Girls falling out of their tops aplenty and more blatant sexual glorification than you can shake a stick at.

Bullshit. Victoria > Trish

How about coffee shops that run wrestling on widescreen TV's? I do that now. Silly DA, thinking he needs to be rich to do that! Maybe he means coffee shops like they have in Amsterdam, with pot & whatnot. If you have that going on, Malibu, I'll see you in Rhode Island in about 75 minutes (depending on traffic).

I agree with Jerk. The women seem to be a ratings draw, and make money for the WWE, not to mention publicity from things like Stacy doing Dancing with the Stars. And if the women were just interviewers or valets, their visibility would be limited. So, the WWE gives the people that make them money larger roles, which ultimately include angles & actual matches. C-Bacon asks the million dollar question.

I think it's like that in every sport. I can't imagine trying to watch a basketball game without knowing the rules, and have to figure out what a pick-and-roll is or what a 3-second violation is. And if they showed women's curling on a weekly basis, I'd watch it on a weekly basis. Men's curling I can live without, but a lot of those women curlers are hot.

As lame as it is to admit, I got into an argument with a woman I work with over Jack. I think they've written Jack to be such a fucking annoying character. Out of all the people that are vying for "leadership" roles ... he's the least deserving & the one that I'd respect the least. As soon as he was done patching the guy up (which is what he's trained to do and what he does best) he should have stepped back and let Sayid do what he was trained to do and what he does best: extract information from a captive.

In her defense, Ashley's received very minimal training. I think even the IWC's favorites were pretty pretty green after just a few months of training. And I'm presuming that they got better training than Ashley did. niskie <3's Ashley -
Storied Franchises in Total Disarray

Zhamnov is a top center; maybe the 'hawks will take him off the B's hands. Know how I know that Zhamnov is a top center? Because MOC paid him like one. -
I'm presuming his friends & family care. And the people that think that Bertuzzi was wrong for doing what he did. If it turns out that Moore can't play anymore, than he SHOULD sue. He'll be losing the opportunity to earn a living as a result of an action that the league deemed to be outside of normal NHL play. It's not right that he'd be losing the opportunity to make money as a result of what Bertuzzi did. But having said that, the amount of money that he should be awarded should be within reason. Certainly not $19 million.

I'd spend more time message boarding on TSM. And pay 18-year-old sluts to go-go dance on my desk while I do so.

Modified for accuracy. And re: your question about your friend Mike, I think it depends on the friendship-level between the asker and the underwear wearer ... if you ask a friend that, no one will know & thus no one will care. But if you went to some random kid (that wasn't a friend of yours) and asked about their underwear, then it could be considered harrassment. Plus, I'm willing to wager that they used "harrassment" just so it wouldn't be "you're in trouble for making fun of a retard".

If they rumors of them going after Samsonov in the offseason are true, that's not a bad pairing to build around. Neither are ready to be "The Franchise" but it would be a good start to rebuilding the organization. -
^ You thought correctly, in my opinion, Slayer. Which - evidently - makes me one of the very simpletons that I mocked just two posts ago.

Storied Franchises in Total Disarray

The 'hawks best chance of becoming something really good again is pretty much "prospect develops into a superstar", kind of like Iginla did in Calgary. They need a guy that's a face of the franchise & helps them compete every night. It's unlikely that they'll sign someone as a FA to fill that role, so they're really reliant on a draft pick or a young, unknown player developing into a franchise player. -
While I agree that the punishment is wicked severe, it kind of has to be. They're setting the precedent that if you miss a PPV (or willingly put yourself in a position to miss the PPV) then you're going to face severe consequences. If they just got a slap on the wrist, wrestlers wouldn't have as much to worry about if they (in the future) make a comparable decision.
