While I've heard that their work in OVW was pretty good, I personally never saw much in them. Just because their gimmick was neutered doesn't mean they should have become so shittacular in the ring. Of course, mark this as one step closer to the death of tag team wrestling.

It'd be neat if this little poll was the beginning of the build to Lesnar's return. He could reappear the night that they announce the winner, and say that the winner gets a match vs. Angle that night. They could go two ways with it: either have Lesnar win the tourney or have someone else win and have Lesnar run in post-match and attack Angle. I'd prefer the latter, since it'd help with a ratings pop. Of course, having said all that, I fully recognize that the above scenario ain't happening. It's just a 'that'd be neat' kind of post.

WP can't win, because at this point it's just blatantly obvious that he's a gimmick. So, maybe the person that created such a craptacular gimmick might be worthy of nomination, but not the gimmick itself.

^ I think that was a wink-wink joke about BttF2. Oh, and other than Jericho & Lesnar, the wrestlers listed aren't worth getting. And Jericho & Lesnar aren't enough to beat WWE in the ratings.

Add Tim Thomas to the mix, too ... now that he's qualified for the league leader stats, he'll be among the league leaders in save % and GAA. I'd feel more comfortable with him or Miller than any of the three goalies named to the team. I'm surprised ESPN even acknowledged hockey as an Olympic sport. They're not big hockey fans, y'know. The most recent magazine had a joke about how the playoffs would immediately have controversy over a shoot-out ... even though there won't be shootouts in the post-season. Crack research staff down there in Connecticut. At this point, it's safe to say that unless a goaltender stands on his head, there's no way that the Amerks will win a medal. Which is fine by me, this is a rebuilding era for the US team. There was a lot of older talent (that's being segued out) and there's a lot of young talent (that's too young to make a difference now) but there's not much in between. In 4 years, that young talent will be difference makers, and the US team should be back in the mix as a medal contender.

kkk NFL pick 'em playoff thread for both leagues

Hey, as always, thanks for doing this, kkk. -
Two episodes, two horrible voting decisions. The old women voting off the lumberjill instead of the woman that was afraid to touch leaves? Insane. The entire tribe voting off the loud-mouth, annoying, cancerous team-mate that might flip out and quit at anytime, over someone that WANTS to be there? Insane. It's not like the guy's Bo Jackson in terms of athleticism; he's yet to do much to prove that he's more valuable than Melinda or Cerie. Understatement of the year. And how does she qualify as "young" when she's already 31? Melinda was only 32, and Cerie was only 35. Evidently someone jumps from "young" to "old" at their 32nd b-day. Good to know. Lastly ... I'm incredibly pleased that Shane's kid is named 'Boston', rather than he has any affiliation with my hometown. There's been too many Masshole losers on reality TV already, having such a spastic asshole be from my beloved state might be too much to bear.

Not to drag this thread down into the old standard "wrestling fans rate chicks thread", but ... 1. Kate 2. Claire 3. Libby 4. Sun 5. Ana Lucia HM: Shannon was #2 before AL capped her.

Writer assistant from Smackdown writes to Meltzer
nl5xsk1 replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
Umm, no. Very deniable still. Who's to say that this guy really works for Smackdown? I would imagine Meltzer or this other writer from the Observer site would check their contacts and such before they would post their thoughts to the public liek this. The fact that he edited his email as well shows that its probably legitimate in that he's really trying to protect his identity. I'll admit that even I think it's a real insider. I'm just not ready to etch this into stone until we get a real name. I wouldn't put it past someone to bend the truth (e.g. say it's an insider even if there's doubt that it's not) in order to support their case or opinion. -

wildpegasus tells us how he lost his virginity
nl5xsk1 replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
I've experienced what I think is the opposite of this; I'll be half-asleep and be dreaming of trying to read something. And for some reason I can't focus on what I'm trying to read, so in my haste to get a better view I'll open my eyes (in real life) and wake myself up. I imagine it's as close to knowing what it's like to be alive without actually living or doing anything. -
Thanks for giving a real reason, MY, since most people were struggling to find one otherwise. See, it's funny because it's not true.

It was called "Bad Twin", and it's being released in real life ... stolen from cnn.com (via spoilerfix.com) ... The ABC television network and sister publishing label Hyperion Books are taking the concept of product placement into a new direction -- by turning an imaginary product into a real one. Producers of ABC's mega-hit castaway thriller "Lost" plan to introduce a new storyline centering on the discovery of a fictitious manuscript that will become the basis for a real-life novel that Hyperion will publish this spring. The book will then be promoted as the work of an author, named Gary Troup, who supposedly delivered the manuscript to Hyperion days before perishing in the show's stage-setting event, a plane crash that maroons a group of survivors on a spooky island. The "Lost" novel, titled "Bad Twin," is described as a private eye mystery about a wealthy heir's search for his evil sibling.

^ "No" is a safe presumption.

Nah, when the Rangers are playing well NYC gets excited about them. They were the toast of the town for winning in '94.

And without the exclamation point, either, while we're talking.

Why are people getting so bent out of shape about him C&P'ing from other articles? Accusations of plagiarism (even when accurate) are pretty moot outside of a classroom setting, IMHO. I wouldn't have minded a caveat that some of his descriptions are lifted from other authors, but it's not like we have a rule about using footnotes or acknowledging other writers.

Stephen J ... you gave us a 1), but no 2), 3), etc ... was there more than that?
-
RRR, by only skimming the article you missed this golden line: Jebus, it's a shame the guy didn't learn to write something worth reading while doing all that other stuff.

EDIT: removed because it just wasn't worth saying.

I can only hope/pray/presume that people are referring to Sterling. Shannon sounds like he has a mouthful of marbles, and that he was only given about 2 minutes to prepare for a show. Says nothing, brings nothing to the table.

^ Am I the only one wondering why NYChris has an opinion on Ryan Reynolds wasting his looks?
-
Depends on how you look at it. I mean, they didn't have to give him the Blazer gimmick just to show him for not going along with one of their storylines. If that much is true, you could possibly look at it as Owen suffering for being a wrestler in a sports entertainment world... So, Vince is a murderer because he gave Owen the Blazer gimmick?!? Sorry, but that's a huge stretch.

Exactly. The only reason that Goldberg would be willing to work for the good of the company - instead of the good of himself - would be to screw with Vince & the WWE. The guy has done nothing to give me the impression that he'd be willing to be put over Joe, Abyss, Rhino, Christian, etc.
