    LOST

I actually thought about that, and my presumption (hope?) is that he grabbed a gun before telling Sawyer where the guns are hidden. Of course, I also presume/hope that maybe a statue or two disappeared with Charlie while he was grabbing his gun. Sawyer's "heel turn" (man, I hate using wrestling references in non-wrestling scenarios, but it's just so damn perfect) was about as awesome as one could be. The backstory about the long con kind of gave away that he was going to be screwing SOMEONE over ... it was just a matter of whom. And I didn't predict that he'd be screwing EVERYONE over. Charlie was one of the two people that I thought could be in cahoots with Sawyer (AL was the other), so it wasn't wicked surprising for it to be him that was the one that followed Locke. One thing I didn't like: AL getting Scott & Steve mixed up. Yeah, it was funny for us, the viewer, that have enjoyed that running gag over the two seasons ... but AL wasn't around when both Scott & Steve were alive ... she's only met one, so has no reason to get them confused. Line of the night (and I'm paraphrasing, because I'm wicked bad at exact quotes): 'One sec, Doc, I've almost got the high score in Donkey Kong.'

Things That Annoy Us About John Cena

Good thing this wasn't a perfectly good joke thread then, eh?

    Super Bowl XL

baron, are you related to this guy or something? Talk about hyperbolic statements ... I sincerely doubt that Steve Hutchinson is the best LT in NFL history. I don't even know if I'm comfortable calling him the current best.

    Super Bowl XL

While I don't think that the refs were consciously and intentionally favoring the Steelers, I do think that Seattle's fans have a reason to be bitching. Pretty much every major call went against their team ... after waiting a lifetime to see your team in the Super Bowl, it'd suck ass to have them get screwed by shitty officiating. Belichick wouldn't have called out the referees in the "well, we didn't win" parade, the way that Holmgren did. Then again, New England wouldn't have thrown a "well, we didn't win" parade in the first place. Unless I'm misinterpreting the quote (about the uproar if it was New England instead of Pittsburgh) I think there'd have been a shitload of uproar at TSM. The quote, as I read it, is basically saying that people would go ballistic if the Pats got help from the refs. And since this board has it's fair-share of Patriots haters, there'd have been plenty of people bitching & moaning that the Pats were given the unfair advantage. (VX, correct me if I'm misunderstanding your edit)

    Matt Hardy Interview

It's like when a kid gets arrested, and his (or her) parents decide that it HAS to be the other kids' faults, not their beloved offspring. Basically, since he likes one of the people that fucked him over and not the other, it HAS to be the fault of the one that he doesn't like. Oh, and after reading that interview, Hardy's seemingly learned nothing about being a mark for himself.

    Women's division

There's nothing that can be done to make women's wrestling better. The WWE has created an environment where even the allegedly 'good' women's wrestlers are there to be TnA and TnA only. If they can do the occasional good move, fantastic, but as long as they're willing to dress provocatively and show near-nudity, that's good enough. I'd like it if they'd do a better job of keeping the women managers/valets out of the ring, but unless they rehired Jazz, Gail Kim, Ivory, Molly, et al, that ain't happening.

re: The gambling situation ... I don't know if I'm in the minority, but I really don't think that athletes gambing on sports (as long as it's not the one that they play) is that terrible. The punishment for the active players, or even Gretzky, should be minimal. Tocchet, on the other hand, is likely fucked, since he could be facing money laundering charges. And, most importantly, the pervert in me is thinking that Janet Jones + women's prison = hawt.

wildpegasus tells us how he lost his virginity

Both feel great when done independantly ... it just makes perfect sense for them to feel so great when done simultaneously. And like Sandusky said, I'm able to hold in stankers until I'm done hanging with a girl. Although I'm willing to wager that a couple of sleep-farts have snuck out while I was asleep next to her. Hopefully she was asleep, too.

In terms of entertainment, Peja's trolling > the "Things That Annoy Us About John Cena" thread.

    A 14 year old and a 10 year old

No, but it's safe to presume that someone wearing a Rancid shirt is enough of a tool to buy beers & smokes for underage kids. Or if nothing else, is so desperate for friends that they'd be willing to buy for the brats. I never buy things for underage kids ... fuck 'em. I found a way to have fun when I was underage, they can do the same.

kkk NFL pick 'em playoff thread for both leagues

The fans of New England are estatic to have another championship to celebrate. And it is one that is even more exciting than that 'meh' World Series win by the Sox a few years ago; I mean, the kkk championship is one for the ages. For folks in the area, there will be a rolling ralley throughout downtown Boston this afternoon, but none of that stupid duck boat crap. nl-asshole & his SB champion Patriots wouldn't be caught dead in one of those.

    Vladimir Petrov

If memory serves, he was so green he made Nikita Kolloff (who he was brought in to feud with) look like Ricky Steamboat. Methinks he wasn't able to pick up the skills necessary to stick around ... and big roid-filled guys are easily replaced. I dug him though, I hated Nikita as a face ... I was rooting for Petrov in that feud.

wildpegasus tells us how he lost his virginity

I should preface this by stating that I was being facetious. But what I was saying/implying was that if WP had a body like that, I'd fuck him in the ass. I'll end this post by reiterating that I wouldn't seriously fuck WP, even if he did have the body of a hot female.

I don't think it's that uncommon for a player to refuse the interview request. It IS unusual for a rookie to do so, but methinks most rookies don't get the same number of requests as Crosby. The bitching at the refs ... yeah, I'll give you that, Crosby does that WAY too much. But I can't agree that he's a bitch for not wanting to do the intermission interview.

Smackdown Spoilers for the Febuary 3rd Show

^ But, to confirm, you're speaking of the Orton character, not the real person playing the character, correct? I'll reiterate: slam the writers for that. Not Orton

Smackdown Spoilers for the Febuary 3rd Show

Wait ... are you saying that Randy, as an on-screen character, is the kind of performer that the writers would write that as an angle for? I don't really get why you're slamming Orton for that ... you should be slamming the writers that came up with the ingenious notion of using Eddie's death repeatedly.

    Super Bowl XL

I think that Belichick doing the ABC/ESPN gig is only exciting for one reason: Belichick allegedly still despises Jackson for his "the Patriots hate Bill Belichick" assertion after Milloy was cut & the Bills creamed the Pats. From what I've heard, the last time TJ asked Belichick for a quote/interview, Belichick just said "Fuck you" and walked away. Should be interesting to see if they interact at all.

How would you have felt about the Kings giving up that much for him, though, Kot909? There'll be other players available closer to the deadline, and ones that should be able to come at a more reasonable price. If/when the Bruins bottom out, I'm sure the Kings could pick up Murray (again) or Samsonov. Actually, the big rumor around here is Samsonov & Raycroft to Chicago for Arnason & Bell. (which I can't see Chicago doing at all). So maybe Sammy won't be available for LA. But Murray would love to be back West. If the B's fall apart, I wouldn't be surprised to see Muzz back in LA. And, on an unrelated note, why are there so many double/triple postings lately? The board seems to be fucking up daily.

    Worst style: clothing and hair

I'm not a fan of the popped collars, but know enough good looking girls that dig the look that I can understand why guys would be popping their collars. I had an incident with the girl that I most recently dated where she told me that she thought that it was a good look. Since I dislike the look - and presumed that she was the kind of girl that would dislike it, too - presumed that she was being sarcastic and laughed and made all sorts of cracks about it. Needless to say, I presumed wrong.

See, I don't necessarily think that they're a one year wonder. I just don't think that I'm ready to put them in the Ottawa/Philly/Detroit/Colorado "Always a Very Good Team" category yet. Teams like Carolina and Nashville have to do it for more than half-a-season for me to drink the kool-aid.

    NHL Thread

While I agree that Carolina overpaid for a rental player, I think that even they realize that this year is as likely to be a one-year wonder as it is to be the beginning of a Colorado/Detroit type of run of excellence. It'd be better to overpay for Weight now than to do nothing and potentially bottom out again and have to wonder what could have been. I'll say one good thing about the lock-out and the ensuing fall-out ... there are so many good teams that have a VERY legit chance at the Cup this year ... this'll be one of the better post-seasons in recent years, if all the teams stay healthy and play as they have been.
