Until Kobe wins titles without Shaq, I'm going to hold off on giving him too much credit for them. Let's let him carry the team without the big man before showering too many championship accolades on him.

I said it at the Pit, but will say it here as well: In my opinion, he's hanging them up because the Penguins leaving Pittsburgh is inevitable ... he came back to try and salvage the organization, and since it's not working, he has no reason to risk his health any longer. I wouldn't say that he was the greatest ever, but I would say that he was one of the top 4. And I will admit that he would have challenged most of Gretzky's records if he was able to maintain his health throughout his career. I think Wirtz is the cause of the problems in Chicago. I will say that saying Khabibulin to such a big-ass contract was a poor decision, but he needed some stability in net and getting one of the best in the game is a risk that you have to be willing to take. And it's not like Chicago went from something to the crap that they are now ... they've been crap for a while. Boston was a Stanley Cup contender just last season (two years on the calendar) ... and now they're a contender for the #1 pick in the draft. Just an amazingly quick reversal of fortune.

Ferguson + brain damage = a better GM than Mr Mike O'Connell. Under his vision, the Bruins went from a 100+ point team to a team that will be very, very lucky to even make the playoffs. I'd take Milbury OR Ferguson over MOC any day of the week.

But a lot of the press that it got was "who writes a TV series based on how hard it is for a girl to get laid, and then cast Heather Graham as that girl?".

Wait ... women exist in the real world, too? I thought that they only existed on the intarweb. I have so much to learn.

Modified for accuracy. Davenport's way too big for simple doggystyle. She needs an animal more proportionate with her bodytype.

I'm not on your back, Dama. You WEREN'T put in a position where you had to defend yourself, at least I didn't interpret it as such. You said that you disliked the team and found them boring, with no reasoning behind it, and someone asked for some reasons why. It's not that complex of a request. I will admit that I can understand why you'd be on edge (you have had people jump down your throat for petty shit) ... but don't get a complex about it, and get all 'whoa is me' everytime someone asks you to provide facts to back up a statement.

Seattle > Pittsburgh (I mean as a city. I'm not talking about the teams at all)
-
Dama, I don't think that he's telling you that you can't dislike them. I think he's just looking for reasons to back up your opinion. You say that they're boring; what about them is boring to you. Is it their playcalling? The lack of a brash superstar? Their uniforms? How drab the city & stadium look on TV? What bores you, in effect.

kkk NFL pick 'em playoff thread for both leagues
nl5xsk1 replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Sports
Wow, even Bob is calling me an asshole now. Of course, it's not like Bob's in the running for any "most popular poster" awards, so maybe him calling me names will make me more likable amonst the TSM masses. And if kkk was going to be fixing the results, wouldn't I have been eliminated long before the Super Bowl? -
^ Mole knows his shit about not being funny, too. So for him to say 'almost funny' ... well, let's just say I trust his opinion.

Well, in that case, more perv talk. Because seeing people get all bent out of shape about Randy Orton's "undeserving" push (their word, not mine) makes me happy. And I'd like to be more interested in tennis. But the men's side is just so very boring (watching Federer win with ease got old a long time ago) and the women's side seems to be the Maria & Williams' show in terms of TV coverage.
-
If she has the face of a 12 year old girl, I haven't been spending nearly enough time leering at 6th graders. Aesthetically, Hantuchova pwns Sharapova. And just to prove that I'm a sexist male "tennis fan", this is the first match I've watched all tournament.

Favorite: The three Pats Super Bowl wins (with the first, over St Louis, being my favorite). Just seeing the team that was once the biggest laughing stock in the sport, and almost moved (twice!) reach the pinnacle was awesome. The fact that they became a model franchise thereafter was pretty sweet as well. Ray Bourque winning the Cup with the Avalanche ... yeah, it sucked that he had to leave Boston to win it, but it was hard not to get all teary-eyed seeing his face & excitement over winning the Cup. I don't really have a least favorite. The worst things that have happened to the teams I like happened so long ago, it's hard to really get all emotional about them.

I haven't watched it since seeing it live, so is there any chance that Zeke heard Jack call Locke "John" right then and there?

Their first world champion? -
Wait: he found with a brace on his hand? Isn't that supposed to be a game misconduct? (or did he get one, and I just didn't hear about it) The folks at the fights board alleged that it was an elbow, which seemed weird because Souray's elbow wasn't bloody at all ... the brace makes it a lot more sensible.
-
There was a direct link to it on the hockey-fights message board if people would prefer that to the yousendit link. The Souray/McCarty fight was a solid scrap, too ... but mostly because I'm NOT a fan of DMac and thus I like to watch him get bloodied.

Probably an elaborate ruse by that wily Ashton Kutcher. IWC, you just got Punk'd! -
Has it been proven that he got that during the last hardcore discussion battle? He IS from Rhode Island, and that kind of stuff just happens there.

Maybe the steroid is medicinal ... maybe if he doesn't use it, he'll go blinder (joke blatantly stolen from the Simpsons). Yeah, the B's looked good last night. It helped that Philly was without 5 of their normal starters, including Primeau & Forsberg, but the B's still dominated the play. Thomas looked good, and should be an adequate back-up for Hannu once Raycfroft is moved ... at this point, though, I really wonder what Razor will bring back in a trade. His value can't be much lower than it is right now. Wayne Primeau's goal was gorgeous, though, one of the prettiest goals the B's have scored this year, and Bergeron/Sturm are playing VERY well together.

While it would suck to the people that ordered NWO, and would lead to a pisspoor match at WM, I could see them having Orton-ference mar the Angle/Taker match at NWO, leading to a 3-way at WM.

While I'm sure it's something more exciting than what I'm about to say, for all we know Walt gave the Others their information. He has been their captive for at least a few days, enough time for a kid to talk about things that he shouldn't be talking about, even unwittingly. The fact that they called him "Mr Locke" (which is what Walt called him) might be a clue of Walt being the source of their info.

I think that if people are really deciding who's bringing quality posts only by their post count or their member number or the date they joined, they're remarkably ignorant. There are definitely some new posters that blow tenured, established posters out of the water. But a lot of the newer posters aren't that good. It's not that hard to be a mediocre poster, and that's all I'd really ask of someone. Be at least average, and you're a-ok in niskie's book. As a good example, my last post wasn't a good one at all.
