I dislike Lindros for fucking teammate's wives more than anything he did on the ice or for being such a bitch after getting drafted by the Nordiques. Belanger was immediately my favorite Bruin when they picked him up. The guy got game misconducts his first two games, both in the first period, and both times for pummeling a guy that had cheapshotted a Bruin. He knew his role and did it well. I only own two B's sweaters: a Bourque black sweater (home now, but it was a road one when I got it) and a Belanger white sweater. It sucked to see him get the footage of him getting KO'ed as a King, since that fight ended his career. So, I went to the Bruins/Sens game last night. It's amazing how much more confidence the team & fans have in Toivenen than in Raycroft. You could almost feel the nervousness when everyone saw #1 skating to the crease for the start of the third. He let in one, but played well enough. And it's laughable how disliked Gill is in Boston. I mean, there were kids that were like 6 or 7 jumping in on the taunting of big Hal.

I root for Colorado State University because I went there. But since CSU doesn't have an D1 hockey team, I root for Harvard because I lived in Cambridge for a few years.

The first 2/3 of that episode are comedic gold. The last third, not so much. (Although they do salvage it with the names that Homer suggests for Marge at the end).

I went with Green Day, since it's annoying that a band that named an album "Dookie" is now considered legitimate political commentary. EDIT: Matt Young slipped an answer in while I was talking to a co-worker. Besides their new fangled maturity, the fact that MY has them as his favorite band for over a decade is annoying (Sorry, Matt) BEP would be second. Their humps, their humps, their humps. The other choices, I'm able to avoid with ease (and in a few cases, I've either never even heard of them) ... so they really can't annoy me.

It's funny how inconsitent their stories are with the footage. They deny that the attacks are random and that they're set-up at all, yet there's footage of kids getting sucker punched while walking across the room or just standing there. And the camera is always perfectly situated for a good shot of the brawl. I presume some are random (since they're in dark areas) but for the most part, no way are these things just random fights.

It's funny how you specified hammers were used, BW. I remember going to shows back in the early '90s and hammer handle incidents were so frequent that there were signs at the door that listed hammers alongside the knives, guns and alcohol as things that were forbidden inside. Laz, Slapshot still exists, and recently released a new album, but they haven't toured the US in as long as I can remember. Artie Lange had been carrying the humor on Stern for 5+ years. He was enjoyable; Stern bitching and moaning was not. Plus, I never understood how the 'common man' still felt that Stern was one of them while he was telling stories of going to NoBu or playing games with Stamos & his wife. Lastly, watching Stern do his recent media blitz to promote his move to satellite has been laughably hypocrital. I mean, the guy was on Entertainment Tonight, Extra, US Magazine, and every other grocery store checkout line rag. Basically, all the things that he's made fun of his whole career.

Kotz, I don't disagree with you, I just need to point out that, in my mind: 1. If one poster can so diminish the quality of a place, the place didn't have much quality to begin with. It's not like this is a utopic message board without Mike. The idiots that make asinine comments and then are unable to back them up are doing more damage to the intelligence of this board than Mike ever did. (the WWE folder is full of them) 2. If people really do avoid threads, folders or the board in general because of one person, I don't think that we'd really miss them as posters. I personally avoid the CE folder, but it's not because of Mike or anyone else. I just don't think a wrestling message board is the place that I want to go and have political conversations.

My guess: No way the Canadians lose on the home ice. Canada wins by 2 or 3, and there's at least one ugly/memorable incident to close out the tourney.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't a lot of the Canadian animosity towards the US start because "friendly fire" killed four Canadian soldiers right when the Iraq/Afghanistan situation started? I remember going to games in Montreal shortly after that and the boos drowned out the American anthem. My presumption was that a lot of folks still hate America (because of Bush) because of that incident.
