I disagree. They could just switch to a 4-3, with Vrabel in the middle & McGinest & Colvin on the outside. I don't really credit the defensive resurgence entirely on Bruschi's return. Seymour coming back & Vrabel moving to the middle (allowing Colvin to play substantially more snaps) did as much as Bruschi's return.

I'd be wicked surprised if the scene went to black in the theatrical version. And wicked disappointed, too. Count me in for seeing this, pretty much as soon as it comes out. There was a pre-screening a month or so ago here in Boston, but I didn't know about it until after it had come & gone.

It takes more than listening to 'hippie' music to be a hippie. If they don't share in the belief system, then they're not hippies. They're just stoners. Personally, I listened to a lot of 'hippie' music but never looked/acted/thought like a hippie.

I don't know what idea I disagree with less: giving Taker the title at WM or letting him wrestle another full year and have him wrestle at all at the WM after this one.

While I'm not a fan of X-mas at all ... let me be the first to say that NYE is pretty much the most overrated holiday around. It's nothing more than an amateur night. "Oh, I'm going to drink a bunch and party and stay up 'til 12 and celebrate!" Whoopie.

No, I don't think that people are taking New England > Pittsburgh for granted ... it's just not what's being debated. As a Pats fan, I'd rather they play JAX in the wild card round, and then have Pittsburgh beat Cincy, leaving Pitt vs. Indy & NE vs Denver in the second round. That scenario is the one that I think would be most favorable for the Patriots.

It's laughable to suggest that the Patriots would be concerned about having to play in snow. Not sure if you realize this, but it snows occasionally in New England. And I think one or two of the Patriots' players might have played a game or two in cold or snowy weather. If given the choice of playing the remarkably overrated Snake Plummer or the guy that's playing among the best QB'ing on the planet ... methinks that the Pats would be willing to risk the 'frigid' weather of Denver.

^ So, since one "Wally" in New York doesn't like NASCAR, no one does? The fact that NASCAR draws 100k people to a lot of their races leads me to believe that it's actually more popular than "Wally" cares to admit. I personally don't give a rat's ass about it, but I know plenty of people that do. And not just hicks, but business owners and people that work for investment firms and shit like that.

Matt, saying opinions as fact make you sound teh dumb. This 'trend' has been around longer than you've been alive. You might as well say that Rap Music is a trend. Or the internet. Not all sXe'ers are dickheads ... a lot are, but a lot aren't. And Smoker Maria is even hotter than Non-smoking Maria was.

The quality of the recent USC QBs leads me to believe that Leinart will be an adequate QB. Not necessarily the next Carson Palmer, but most likely not the next Ryan Leaf, either.

I think one of the early Great American Bash's was held in a rainstorm ... maybe '84 or '85. If my memory serves (which is a big if) there was a Flair/Koloff main event that night. Why does it have to be in an NFL-sized stadium? Why not a smaller stadium, like where a minor league baseball team would play? Even a small, D2 college's stadium (such as Harvard's stadium) would work, and look pretty old-school, to boot. Well, in that case why don't we just have one in my backyard then? I'll set up the the folding chairs and my mom will make snacks. Well, seeing as the places that I suggested hold roughly 10-15k people, it wouldn't be asinine to suggest that they hold a show there. My guess - and this is just a guess - is that your backyard wouldn't be able to support a crowd of that size. Thanks for the smartass suggestion, though.

Because discussions of anal sex have so much to do with pro wrestling. Considering that one of the two posters in the conversation is a girl, it's difficult to say that females would be driven away by conversations like this. And considering this thread is about Christy Hemme being "a dirty dirty slut" I don't think that many posters would come into this thread to debate which Flair/Steamboat match was the best.

Men Without Hats did not have a good song. They had a popular song. Big difference.

You must go to the ugliest mall in America.

OR it's putting over the guy that's staying rather than the guy that's leaving. Not that shocking, methinks.

Yet, people won't think you're gay because you enjoy watching near naked men grapple with one another? The gay thing with wrestling is so 20 years ago. She's right, he's wrong.

How long until we have a "who's hotter: Bin Laden's niece or Dixie Carter?" thread?

Patchouli is a scent/oil, that was worn by hippies back when hippies were really hippies. I think it was Indian/Eastern in origin. It's since become a largely inaccurate stereotype that everyone that goes to 'jam bands' shows reeks of it. Deadheads were pretty into pathouli back in the day, but I don't think the folks that goes to Phil & Friends shows do, and I know for a fact that Phish fans stopped wearing it in like '92. And I do think that certain bands have songs that they play 'straightforward' instead of jamming or improvising. Phish had a few of those (Mound, Sparkle).

TSMassachusetts strikes again Why does my state have to be so fucking embarrassing sometimes? To the rest of the world: Not all Massholes are assholes. A lot are. But a lot of us aren't.

Owen was 'the little nugget of turd' that wouldn't go down the toilet when rest of the shit is flushed away, with the other shit == Bret, DBS, & Neidhart.

Oh, I know it'd improve my opinion of him.

RE: the debate over who made the Olympic team ... using a guy's NHL season stats as the be-all/end-all way to decide is a poor way to think things through. From what I've seen, Crosby isn't killing himself on D, and hasn't shown a huge willingness to drop and block a puck. In a tourney like the Olympics, you need the best all around players, and right now he's not that great of an all around player. Prove it. Name a team, of players that are willing to go (so you can't use Yzerman or Lemieux) and show us how you could name a team that's better than the one that was assembled. RE: the Bruins game last night. I wish the B's could play TO more often. Something about the Leafs brings out the best in the team. A win tonight would give them a ton of momentum going into the holiday break. (small rant: it kills me to hear their announcers say that the games versus Washington or Florida are winnable. The B's aren't much better than either of those teams, so the announcers for the Caps or Panthers could be sayign the same thing about the Bruins.) At this point, I'm not yet ready to be a fan of the Bruins again. There's too many players that I either don't like (Zhamnov, Gill, Fitzgerald) or am apathetic about (Isbister, Primeau, Tanabe) to really put my support behind them. Having said that, though, if MOC can get rid of some of the dead weight and replace it with players I care about ... and keep the nucleus of Boyes, Bergeron, Boynton, and re-sign Stuart ... I might find myself bleeding black and gold again next year.

Who brings the Honkey Cracker White boy taste to this here board?

think about it Because you're Canadian? And thus you'd fit most of the unflattering, and often incorrect, stereotypes of blacks?
