Didn't the Jackasses ... oh, I mean the Broncos, go 15-1 one year?
-
Having Randy Orton win does no good either, because nobody gives a damn about Randy Orton. But in a few years, Taker will (hopefully) be retired, and Orton will (likely) still be around. Regardless of how over someone is or not, it's time to start thinking about having a roster with some depth in a few years. If the young guys keep losing now, there's no way they'll be in a position to be taken seriously in the future.

It pisses me off that All (well, Bill in particular) are making Ft Collins a pop/punk hotbed, years after I left there. When I lived there, the scene sucked. I leave, and a few years later they open a recording studio there and get bands that are at least half-way talented to tour through. +1?

I hate to pile on, since so many other posters have pointed out the ass-backwardness of this post ... but I can't help myself. To start with, why would anyone want Orton to win? Because he's not a 40-year-old man playing a gimmick that should have been shelved 5 years ago, when he should have retired. Why would anyone cheer for Orton to win? Maybe because they hate the Undertaker. Or they like rooting for heels. Or they just like the Orton gimmick. And why would someone think that Orton would win? This is where things might get a bit shocking ... because IT MADE SENSE FOR HIM TO WIN. Having a geriatric go over the younger talent is NOT a good idea, and does nothing for the good of the company in the long run. The part I highlighted is laughable. If they're going to screw everything up, why bother doing anything then, I guess. Let Taker have his night? The guy's had more nights than just about anyone in the history of the sport. And if they needed to send the fans home happy, have Taker beat the piss out of both Ortons off-camera once the PPV was over. Damaging the guy that should be the #1 contender is not a wise move.

I think one of the early Great American Bash's was held in a rainstorm ... maybe '84 or '85. If my memory serves (which is a big if) there was a Flair/Koloff main event that night. Why does it have to be in an NFL-sized stadium? Why not a smaller stadium, like where a minor league baseball team would play? Even a small, D2 college's stadium (such as Harvard's stadium) would work, and look pretty old-school, to boot.

Seeing as he probably got next-to-no snaps in practice all week, and spent more time on the scout team than actually working with the starting WRs & OL ... I'm not terribly surprised.
-
I'm glad Roenick isn't on the team ... the whole "put me on the team or I'm rooting for Canada" reminded me how big of a egocentric prick he is. Of course, since the Amerks are going to finish like 5th or 6th, it probably is unfortunate that he's not on the team; now he'll probably start saying that they'd have medaled if he was on the squad. And, bps, we've noticed ... everytime I look at the standings and see the B's fall further and further from the pack, I note that the Sabres are winning. 9 road games in a rwo is pretty damn impressive.

Try being in Boston where a "Yankees Suck" chant can break out at ANY game, regardless of the sport and who the Boston team is playing. I find the chant to be moronic during a Sox/Yanks game, let alone during a Bruins/Flyers game or some other non-baseball/non-NY sporting event.

Sorry, CW ... I actually should have known that, I think we've talked NFL before. I just saw your post & where you listed as your location and presumed that you were a Giants backer.
-
So, the only people that think the Giants are SB-bound are Giants fans. Hmmm, perhaps there's just a bit of bias there? /says the Pats fan that's argued that his favorite team has a legit chance of making it again

None of whom have the cult following that Raven has/had.
-
Why would we remove taking penalties from consideration? That'd be like me saying, "Other than the horrible case of fumble-itis, Kevin Faulk isn't a bad back-up RB". The fact that the NYG OL takes false start penalties hurts their chances of being considered a terrific OL in my eyes.
-
That'd be running the risk of a casual fan seeing this disc, seeing Raven's name and saying "I used to love his gimmick, I wonder what he's doing now?" and finding out about TNA. It's better for them to pretend he never existed, in their mind. /waits for someone to say "but TNA isn't competition to Vince & Co."

Coffey, paying $500k for a year of Sting is bad business regardless of what they do with him. If I was making the decisions, I wouldn't have signed him at all. I stand by my original post: have Sting beat jobbers (even if it means having him curtain jerk) to pop the fans but have him lose to midcarders and future main eventers to help build them up. Having him hold the title, or even feud for it, is not going to help this company in the future. In a perfect world, I'd have Sting feud with Jarrett over something other than the belt, and have Killings/Christian/Raven/etc feud over the world title.

I can't believe Tim White's dead ... it seems like just yesterday that I didn't give a crap about him.

But you wouldn't be explaining the concept of suicide. You'd be explaining the concept of having someone (in the "character" of their real life, not a fabricated 3rd person character) kill themselves in an unadvertised, throw-away moment, over pro wrestling. I'm not going to pretend that a barbed wire match is anything more than a garbage match but at least it was a) hyped, so parents and whatnot knew it was coming and could plan accordingly ... and b) built as part of a program. EDIT: Never answered the original question ... I don't watch, haven't in a long ass time. I occasionally will watch a few minutes, but that's more because the shows I'm actually watching are all in a commercial break. ^ what I'll be watching tonight

The "team can't win when it's a certain temperature" thing is such bullshit it's not even funny. Know why the Bucs had a piss-poor record when it was cold? Because they were a horrible, untalented team for 2 decades. Know why they lost on Saturday? Because Williams couldn't get a decent run off & Simms was under attack by a front 7 that dominated the Bucs OL. Not because it was too chilly for the Bucs. And RE: the Pats chances of going to the Super Bowl ... even most die-hard fans admit it's unlikely. But I personally think that they're going to be favored versus Jax in the wild card game, and will likely win (although not cover, for the gamblers out there). You ask how they're going to beat Jacksonville, I say by stopping the run and putting it all on a young QB to beat them. And if it happens that they win by "some Vinatieri FG in the last 2:00" ... you don't get extra wins for winning big. Winning by a FG in the closing seconds is good enough for me. And I can't help but remember last year's postseason, when both the Colts & the Steelers were supposed to destroy NE. How many points did Indy's record-setting offense put up last year again? Not enough to win. Is there a chance that the Pats could go into RCA and get destroyed? Yes, there's a very good chance. But is there a chance that the Pats might actually beat the Colts? Yes.
-
Yes and no. Yes, I think Sting should come in and go over people like David Young (who, admittedly, I don't know from a hole in the wall). No, I don't think that the Jarrett antics should continue. But I don't think Sting's antics would be much more tolerable, and since the question is what we would do with Sting (rather than what we'd do with the whole organization) I only answered what was asked.

You're obviously not as fussy as you think if you're willing to say she's not only hot, but incredibly hot. I'd say that Carter is comparable to the women on Desperate Housewives: I can see why people would say that they're attractive (particularly for their age) but they do nothing for me. One person's 'awesome' is someone else's 'average'.
-
^ Mine, too, but I'm probably a bit biased. Regardless who wins the AFC, I can't see them losing to whomever the NFC sends.

"Freezing weather"?!? It was upper 30s and felt warmer because the sun. I think calling that freezing weather is a stretch. I think Cincy/NE would be a good match-up. It's tough to say who'd win, because the NE D has looked really good lately ... but has it looked good enough to beat a team with as many weapons as the Bengals? Who knows. But it's also unlikely to happen, unless some of the top seeds fall in the postseason.
-
She's attractive for a woman that owns a wrestling league. But it'd be an awfully big stretch for me to actually refer to her as "hot".

There are infinite writers worse than Chuck ... the countless acolytes that copy his style come to mind. Is he the greatest of all time? Far from it. Is he the greatest of the modern era? Far from it. Is he a reasonably decent author. I'd say so. Agreed ... even though I'm not 100% certain what "Korned" means ... by my presumption of it's definition, though, I agree. It's because the most rabid fans are pretty much frat guys that get tribal tats on their biceps.
-
This story wasn't that disturbing the first two or three times it was posted here ... why would it suddenly be disturbing now? I like Chuck's books and all ... but this story is wicked overrated.

I'd use him if/when they start doing house shows, or on ads for PPVs, as one of the big names advertised as appearing. Hype him up as a former world champion and international superstar and blah-blah-blah. Use his name to get casual fans to want to come check him out. And then have him either curtain jerk and beat a relative nobody or wrestle mid-card and lose to a future star.
