Keep deluding yourselfs Knicks fans. I can see LeBron playing out his last few seasons in NY, but he's more than happy being the King of NE Ohio. The rumor that I'd heard most frequently was LeBron to the Nets once they moved to Brooklyn. He'll save the NBA in the biggest market, it just won't be with the Knicks.

You're right, a win is a win regardless of what month it occurs in. But that doesn't mean that they're as important in the grand scheme of things. Lose a game (or some momentum) now, and you have 120 games to make up ground. Lose a game (and momentum) in September and, well, you don't. Of course, ESPN would probably flip away from a game to show the last inning of a no-hitter even if it was in September.

His penis is actually my favorite, not my second favorite. Sorry, Lushus.

It's really a no win situation ... there are fans that would want the network to cut in for something like a no-hitter or a 4th home run in one game ... and there are fans that hate the idea of cutting in for something like that. Really, doing a split screen would be the best choice, because it would piss EVERYONE off instead of just one side or the other. And, really, I have no issue with Czech or anyone else being pissed that they cut into the game that they were watching and enjoying - it sucks when you're watching a game and they show something else. I do, however, find it difficult to consider a game that's not even a third of the way through a 162 game season "important".

AiG, you lost me with . Maybe if you're referring to their total game, their ability to play in all three zones. But it doesn't seem to be that, it seems like you're referring exclusively to their offensive prowress. And even though their point totals are comparable this post-season (in fact I think that they're identical) the Wings have also played a couple more games, so their PPG is slightly lower. It's a big stretch to say that the Wings duo is just as good as the Penguins duo ... and it's not realistic to say that they're better. Having said that: Defense is very much in Detroit's favor, as is goaltending, so it's tough to pick a winner. I'm going to go with the Wings, in 6, but I wouldn't be surprised if Pittsburgh won, or if either team won in less games or it went a full 7. Basically, I have no idea what I think. I thought Detroit already won the 1999 Cup, by beating the actual winners in the Western Conference Finals. Didn't Detroit put their 97-98 Cup up against the Stars' Cup?

You're my second favorite black message board member, you can't die. Wait, that's worded poorly, it makes it sound like the message board is black, not you as a member. But "second favorite message board black member" makes it sound like the message board is my second favorite. Regardless, I'm glad you're not dead. You have so much left to offer the world.

I think you're right, Dama, that the numbers were "revealed" via an online game, but I thought that those games were parallel stories rather than actual parts of the show. Even if it's the latter, and those games are part of the show, I think the producers have an obligation to at least reference what they mean on the actual show. Some of us don't play "alternate reality games" for the TV shows that we watch.

Why are your testicles in my mother's ass? Silly child, the penis goes in, not the testicles. How did you ever get that whore pregnant if you don't even know how to have sex?!? -

Get off my nuts... They're too deep in your boyfriend's mouth. I couldn't get on 'em if I wanted to. -
Is it a contractual thing, like how FOX has the NLCS but not the ALCS? Does TNT have 'rights' to the WCF? I'm both rooting for & predicting Boston (in 6) and LA (in 7). Boston will finally lose at home and win on the road. And I think that 3 of the 4 potential match-ups have intriguing subplots. Boston/LA is obvious, Detroit/LA has the 'rematch factor' that VX & 909 referenced, and Boston/SA has the fact that Boston tanked a season to get Duncan in the draft and an intriguing Duncan vs. KG match-up. Detroit/San Antonio doesn't offer much.

In all the complaining about switching games & Arena football, no one mentioned that Czech called game #45 of the season "important". I think it's a stretch to call a game in mid-May "important". If either team finishes one game out of the playoffs, I'll gladly eat my words. But even then, missing one inning of one game is, in the grand scheme of things, inconsequential at best.

Scroby, that's a good list of questions ... unfortunately, it's just the tip of the iceberg of shit that they've presented and then abandoned. The Survivor Sucks board has a thread that's like 36 pages long of questions, some of which have been answered but many (most?) are still out there. The thing that pisses me off, and I don't have the source to reference, is that TPTB have already said that some things won't get answered, and the numbers - if my memory serves me correctly - is one of those things. They gave some shitty excuse that the real answer would be a disappointment if it were explained, so it'd be better to NOT explain them and let people imagine what they want. They gave a random reference to Star Wars & the Force as reasoning. Regardless, it leaves me nervous that a question that dominated the first few seasons is going to be swept under the rug.

The characters that are playing Penny & Desmond make that love story much more acceptable. Plus it's not like I'm just some hard-ass that's averse to a love story. One is fine. But when it comes to love stories and/or love triangles, well, let's just say that I'm a fan of moderation. And to change the conversation ... do any of you read the spoilers on the Dark UFO site? I checked out the highlights for the alleged spoilers for the 2 hour finale, and after reading them I'm just praying that they're not accurate.

I like how Chicago is the place that borderline QB's from CSU end up ... first Moses Moreno about 8 years ago, and now Hanie. Meanwhile, they didn't go after the decent QB that was at CSU between them, Bradlee Van Pelt. Then again, Van Pelt was bad enough that he's now playing soccer for a club team in California. So maybe "decent" is too strong of a word for him.

Hey, just for confirmation, are we picking 12 forwards - regardless of their position - or 4 LW/4 C/4 RW?

I like how most of the things that EHME thinks of when he thinks "corrupt cop" is straight out of a movie. I also like how being a dick to kids because you don't like their appearance is being "corrupt". No, it's just being a dick and using your badge & gun as an excuse. -
I disagree that there's not much to discover anymore ... there's an infinite amount of stuff to discover, it's just up to the writers to come up it it and present it in an interesting fashion. Not to mention the countless things that they've introduced and then left unexplained: The story behind the 4-toed statue; the history of the island; more about the history of Dharma and/or the Others; what happened to Rousseau's team; the food drops (who's dropping them, and for whom?) ... not to mention the "big picture" stories of the numbers, the healing powers of the island. And while I do agree that this season has been more about the characters, I don't think that it's a good thing. The show is evolving from what made it so interesting & different, to just another prime time soap opera on an island. And I want to give Aero credit for reminding me how funny it was that after about half a season of "we have to get this hatch open!" they found a poorly hidden door that led directly into the compound. Good stuff.

Welcome to the party, Max, and thanks for making my pick over the weekend. And while I was hesitant to say this until he was selected, but I'm shocked that Orr fell as far as he did - he would have been my top choice if I was picking first overall. While 99 & 66 had more gaudy numbers offensively, #4 could do so-much-more defensively. And in a mock draft for bragging rights on the internet, what's more important than playing all three zones well?

CG, I'll get you my list before I leave work for the day.

No matter how many records he breaks or how many decades he plays, Chelios will always be the guy that said that Bettman should worry about his family and his well-being ("You'd hate to see something like that happen, but he took the job.") and the guy that refused to shake hands after getting eliminated in last year's playoffs. More or less: He'll be a piece of shit no matter what records he breaks.

You should PM CanadianGuitarist your picks just in case... Yeah, I considered that ... but it would have to be "my top choice is __, but if he's gone I'll take ___ and if he's gone I'll take ____". And I'm not sure how thrilled I'd be to 'show my hand' about who I was interested in, to someone else in the draft. It wouldn't make a big difference this weekend, because 1) I have two picks before CG has any & 2) at this point we're still picking the best players in league history. But when we get to the mid-100s (for example) there might be a diamond in the rough that I have in mind, that I'd be averse to sharing. EDIT: And since he's reading the thread right now, I'll just say that I don't trust CG, even though it's not true.

While I'm not sure if we'll even get to my pick over the weekend, I want to give y'all the caveat in advance regardless ... I don't have internet access on weekends and thus if my pick comes up, I'll probably be unable to make my selection before Monday. I'll try to get online at some point between now & then to limit the down-time, but I rarely go online on the weekends so can't guarantee anything.

The Good: I really like the interaction between Ben & Hurley. Last week had the awesome scene of them sharing a candy bar, and then last night had the "you do know that those are 15 years old?" moment. Loved both scenes. I also really like how Sawyer's "circle of people that I care about" has expanded from just himself to Kate, Claire/Aaron, and Hugo. They'd gone as far as they could with him being a bad-guy con-man, and they've done a great job of establishing more depth to him. The return of the numbers == two thumbs up. I've been bitching all season how the stuff that used to be so important each week has been abandoned without explanation or reason. Good to see them back. The Bad: Jack's "alpha male" shit continues to rub me the wrong way. I recognize that he's allegedly the main character, and that the character feels responsible for getting people off the island. But to be up & walking a day after an appendectomy ... and not just walking, but stomping through the jungle? Even on a show about time travel & all that, it's hard to suspend that kind of disbelief. I'd read some theories online about Farraday & Charlotte getting together as a couple. Wow. The last thing this show needs is another romance. Remember that fun little show about polar bears & mysterious bad guys? Well, it's been replaced with a fuckign soap opera. On the previous page, LOTC & YNA talked about Bernard & Rose ... two characters that I liked, and could have played decent sized roles in the series. But other than the him knowing morse code, have they done anything this season? She was cured of cancer by the island, and now they're wallpaper in the background. I guess they're not young & attractive enough to be major players. The Ugly: There's a part of me that thinks that the writers want/expect us to be surprised at things that are painfully predictable. A few weeks ago when Jack heard his ladyfriend in the shower; was there any doubt that it was Kate? And last night's introduction, as soon as they showed two pilots, it was pretty obvious that it was the O6 and was leading to the scene that they showed in the commercials, with the back-hatch opening up. For a show that used to surprise me every week, the only real surprising thing (that I can think of) that had any real impact on me was when Keamy killed Alex.

Keep in mind that in the minds of the Lost creators, etc, tonight's episode & the two hour finale in 2 weeks is all one giant 3 hour episode. I wouldn't be surprised if some of what they're showing in advertisements is actually airing in two weeks instead of tonight.
