    Chapelle's Show Season Three

They already had a finite number of skits & sketches shot before Dave visited S.Africa ... from what I've heard, they're going to show those as a partial season. So, it won't be as long or as in depth as Seasons 1 or 2, but it'll be better than nothing. I've also heard that they hadn't filmed his intros, with him on stage talking to the studio audience ... no idea if they're going to film those or not.

Who, in turn, draw 20 billion flies You're thinking old-school hippies ... new-school hippies are tweakers so end up keep the flies away with their constant scratching and sketching around.
  4. That's the worst part of this time of year ... not knowing whether I should buy something or not, since I don't know if I'm going to get it as a gift or not for Xmas. And then on top of that, once the holiday has come and gone I normally have too much other new stuff that it doesn't make sense to buy something else, even if that something is what I wanted in the first place.
  5. "Matt Young" is a nom de plume?!? How random. At least the rest of us had the decency to pick a strange ass name that's quite obviously not our real name. Except for Black Lushus. I'm pretty sure that's his real name.

    The RAW thread 12/12/05

How was the crowd, Boon? I haven't been to a wrestling show in ages (the last one I saw was when Austin shot Hall & Nash with a net-gun) but I remember the crowd being pretty 'meh' most of the time. And can someone tell me what Nowinski was doing there? Was it just a one-off because they were in Boston, or is he coming back as a character at all?

    Survivor: Guatemala

I agree with Kahran ... Danni controlled her team until the merge, and then had to re-think her strategy after the merge. Being part of the minority only gave her one real option: stay quiet and let the majority turn on each other. Which they did. On top of that, Danni dominated the Q&A part of the F2. While I recognize that Steph was fighting an uphill battle because of her enemies list, it still seemed like she gave some really shitty answers. She didn't seem apologetic at all, or even able to provide legit reasons why she did what she did. She pretty much just said "I was playing the game" and hoping it would suffice. It did not. And Kanyon, how can you say that Steph played a better game than Danni, even though you also point out that Danni was as to blame for getting rid of Judd & Cindy as Steph was - yet was able to float under the radar and not be held responsible for any of it. Playing the game well involves getting to the F2 without a list of enemies. One person did that, the other did not. In my eyes, the person that got away with it without being hated played the better game.

    hi im new!

I first have to admit that I was being facetious when I posted my "where will we badmouth TSM?" inquiry. If I cared enough to bitch, I'd do it here. I then have to ask: if people are really down enough on TSM (or the Pit, for that matter) ... why would they need to change the board? I might be wrong, but I'm under the presumption that there are other message boards somewhere on thissy here intarweb. Don't like one board or the other, go find a new one.

    hi im new!

But if the Pit is just merged back into TSM, where can we go to bitch about TSM behind it's back?

    Jimi Hendrix=One hit wonder?

Y'know, I had no idea that it was them doing that song on that commercial ... learn something new every day. And, yeah, Falling to Pieces is the only other big FNM song I can think of. Well, that and "We Care a Lot" (which is probably not even the real name of that song, and wasn't that big of a hit regardless)

    NFL Week XIV

Can you imagine the verbal fellatio that the ESPN crew would give Belichick & Brady if the Pats found a way to beat Indy in Indy in the post-season? A tranny porn video would have less balls-in-man-mouth than that scenario would. And the good news is it looks like - if everything plays out - that it'll be NE vs. Indy in Indy in the 2nd round of the playoffs. And Spiff ... I'm the only one that's really harped on their easy schedule, and it's really not to take anything away from going undefeated. It just gets my Irish up to hear people downplay the Pats' success because of their easy schedule or the fact that they don't win games by USC-like scores ... yet continue to hype the Dolphins as the most amazing season ever, even if the same flaws exist.

    NFL Week XIV

Sure, and then come back to this argument when Pats actually go undefeated... No, no need. I'm not comparing the Pats - of any year - to the undefeated Dolphins. I'm just pointing out that people like to say how the Pats barely won games, or that they got good records by beating on shitty teams ... yet still continue to blow smoke up the Dolphins ass for the '72 season, even though the same facts are applicable. The honest answer to why the Pats won't be remembered as an all-time great team is the simple fact that they weren't; the dynasties in Pittsburgh, SF, and Dallas were all much more impressive than New England's. The fact that they barely won games is irrelevant to their place in history.
  15. Foley's barely part of the WWE anymore, and with the missing ear & less-than-clean-cut appearance, might not help the WWE as much as we'd think. Same with Angle's steroid-addled appearance ... probably not the talking head that the WWE would want representing them. I think that the Big Show is among the best people to fit that role. Is 'larger than life' but doesn't look like an HGH junky. Seems to be well-spoken and humorous.

    Survivor: Guatemala

And Steph deserved to win? She proved the point that fucking everyone else over comes back to bite you in the F2. More people were probably voting against Steph rather than for Danni. So, Danni played well enough to get to the F2, and did so without making many enemies. Sounds like a deserving winner to me.

It Was 1 Year Ago Today

I'll reiterate what I said on page one ... If people are saying "it's been 25 years since DBD was killed" in 24 years, I'll agree that the fans passion about him is comparable to Lennon's. But I don't think that I have to worry about it. Fans being passionate about a band go way beyond "I'd kill for them". And the fact that the Beatles recently had a #1 album, along with still maintaining a huge memorabilia market, leads me to believe that their fandom is every bit as passionate as the Pantera fans were/are. Lastly, I have a hard time agreeing with the statements that DBD revolutionized music ... he might have helped spearhead some changes in the metal genre, but it didn't effect anyone outside of that fanbase.

    vinyl vs. cd

Depends on the genre. Jazz, classic rock, punk & hardcore all sound more 'authentic' (for lack of a better word) on vinyl. It's a more true way of listening to them. Other types of music need the clarity that CDs bring to the table. My biggest issue with records is that it's difficult to transport them, and you're really limited to listening to them at home.

    Jimi Hendrix=One hit wonder?

I think that they use the literal definition of only having one major hit ... regardless of how stellar or not the career around said hit might have been. And forgive my ignorance, but I have no idea if I've ever heard "Easy" (the Faith No More song that is referenced in this thread starter). To say anything but Epic is their biggest hit would be a stretch, IMHO.

Richard Pyror Dies at age 65

-Violent J.....2000 damn near six years later, wow, J is psychic i swear. You're kidding, right? The tool was off by 5+ years ... making 'about to expire' a pretty loose translation. And while I'd be hesitant to say Pryor was the greatest ever ... he certainly owned a few years of the 1970s.

    Survivor: Guatemala

Judd was disappointing on the jury ... I think he thought that the ice skating quesiton to Danni was going to be the memorable moment, and when it bombed he was kind of lost. Rafe's a bitch for being pissy that Danni didn't "go with her heart" and choose him for the F2. If she chooses him, she probably loses. And only an idiot would go with their heart over their head when a million dollars is up for grabs. Lastly, Danni proved me wrong ... I was worried that she'd be less attractive in reality after seeing her island-ized all season. She looked phenomenal while done up. Unlike Steph, that still hasn't learned that the uber-wavy hear looks straight out of a Jersey mall, circa 1986.

Wait, you have a target as inviting as Stumpel to piss on, and the best you can come up with is "you're queer" and "you suck". Man, if you can't taunt any better than that, don't bother at all.
