While I agree that the Pats won't be remembered as an all-time great, I would like to point out that I can think of a team whose opponents combined record for the year was over 50 games below .500 & won their three playoff games by 7 points or less, and is still considered the greatest of all time. Yes, I'm talking about the vaunted '72 Dolphins, who beat a bunch of shitty teams in the regular season and then barely won in the playoffs, but is still considered the greatest season of all time. I don't see why revisionist history would be so kind to them if the Pats are going to be downgraded because they won 'boring' games.

If given the choice of fighting someone that looked like Lashley or fighting someone that looked like Murdoch, I'd take the musclehead 7 days a week.

She's already pretty close.

Regarding the Seahawks barely winning games or whatnot ... the Pats have won 3 Super Bowls because they barely win games. Winning games by 21 pts doesn't give you anything extra in the W column. A win's a win's a win, in my eyes.
-
Actually, I think the Pats were going for the FG, not the Dolphins. And I liked how Cosell prefaced his announcement by saying how unimportant football was compared to Lennon's death.

no, several Colardo football players feel the same way, niskie! I'd at least wait for consent, Lushus. Unlike the CU players.

re: Cena breaking the Masterlock ... maybe he mule-kicked him in the crotch, and Masters broke the hold b/c of that. Let's wait and see how before we start getting up in arms. Vyce, I'm not going to pretend that Cena's gimmick is over at all ... but do you really think that Masters & the Masterlock is? I wouldn't even give him the 'to some extent' that you did.

^ Agreed. I have to admit, though, that I was around a long ass time before I started to pay attention to the ~drahmuh~ and whatnot.

Oh give me a break you nimrod, OF COURSE IT FUCKING DOES! You think the fans are gonna cheer for an ugly shit like Murdoch? If he had even half the talent of a wrestler like Shelton Benjamin or other underrated compettitors THEN I would give him a break. But he doesn't, and they push this loser? Fuck off. Refer back to previouse comment, and are you fucking dumb enough to compare the Four Horsemen to a hack like Murdoch? Fool. No, the fans aren't going to cheer Murdoch. He's a heel. Thus, he'd be booed. And I can only speak for myself, but I don't decide how much I like or dislike a guy based on how built he is. "Oh, I can't dislike Murdoch, he's not as jacked up as other wrestlers. He must suck and stuff." Secondly, the NWA's success or failure had nothing to do with how built it's wrestlers are. Period. If you think that's the case, you're stunningly unintelligent. Besides the fact that you'd have to ignore the fact that they had a shitload of guys that were jacked or at worst in good con(Nikita & Kruschev, Road Warriors, Magnum TA, Von Erichs, just to name a handful) ... you'd have to ignore the fact that the NWA was uber-successful even with 'fat' guys. And the Horsemen are indeed comparable, since people were talking about how in shape wrestlers were, not how good of a wrestler. Dear Santa, All I want for Christmas is the Old Jake. This new one sucks. Thanks, TSM

This isn't Michaels & Jannetty or even the Can-Am Connection you're talking about. It's two guys who teamed together for a short time and currently aren't teaming together. Maybe they've just decided to not be a tag team for a while, and it was a mutual decision. Why would they necessarily need to feud?

ew It's worse than you thought, Czech. In reading his post, he not only laughs out load, he laughs out load twice.

Dirty Hippy, it's never too late to say Fuck Roenick.

I'm so East Coast that I consider western Pennsylvania as the beginning of the 'Mid-West'.

Flair/Edge wouldn't need the IC belt. I'd say have Murdoch take the belt off of Flair (maybe have Edge-terference to keep Flair 'strong' for their feud) and have Murdoch feud with another midcarder over the IC belt. Of course, I can't think of a face midcarder for him to be facing. I'd have dug a series of Tajiri/Murdoch matches ... but it looks like that's not happening. EDIT: Evidently I fucked up and quoted the wrong post. Oops.

He better not come out in black trunks though ... wootman would lose his shit.

Bebop is instrumental. And wank Should I have used "beatnik-esque" in it's place? Or should I just make a "Stu's spoken word was music to my ears" joke?

Have you noticed Andy Brickley becoming a brutally bad 'homer' at all lately? It seems that since the season started he's ramped up being a pro-Bruins/not-at-all-impartial announcer ... I'm wondering how much of that is forced upon him by the team. And while I'm bitching about NESN coverage, how brutally bad is Simpson as a rinkside reporter. He's painful to watch & listen to ... and is also a brutal 'homer' announcer. NESN used to have such good, impartial reporting, it sucks to see them change like this. (and on an unrelated note, I have to admit that I'm wicked fired up by the girl that does the Noah's Ark joke for that lighting company.) And for everyone naming names for the CDN Olympic team ... is it confirmed that Nash won't be there? Him & Thornton played really well together, I'd think about putting those two together again.

It's funny ... Have a rape scandal, keep your job. Have a sexual harrasment scandal, keep your job. Have sex-for-athletes scandal, keep your job. Have player-sends-racist-emails scandal, keep your job. Lose 100-6 in two games, and you're fired. Shows what Boulder keeps as a priority. BTW, am I the only one that would soooo tag Katie Hnida?

The anniversary fell mid-week, meaning there wasn't much NFL to cover, and even less college football to cover. There weren't many major trades in MLB to cover. It was a relatively quiet night in the NBA & college basketball. And ESPN refuses to acknowledge that the NHL is back. So, their choices were: a long-ass thing about an ESPN-original movie or a long-ass thing about Cosell calling Lennon's death. They chose the latter. It could have been worse: Stu Scott could have done a be-bop spoken word about it.

^ Agreed. But you just knew that it was going to be Cindy. Both Rafe & Danni were going to vote Cindy, and Lydia seems to be re-writing the book on how to be a clueless follower in this game. Give her a night to be brainwashed by Rafe & Danni saying "We'd have given the cars; we can't believe Cindy didn't give us the cars; etc etc etc" ... and you just knew that she'd follow them in voting her off. Question: am I the only one that thinks going on the night away like that is a bad move? You pretty much take yourself & another person out-of-pocket, and give a majority of the remaining people a chance to conspire together and make a plan/pact about getting to the final 3. I don't care how hungry I was, if I was in Steph's position I'd have said, "Take <whomever> instead, they deserve it more" and stayed with the majority.

I read what you guys post here in this thread. I'm not a huge proponent of spoilers & whatnot, so pretty much let you all do the work and then just read what seems worth reading. /teh lazy

Do you like him or do you like him like him? (as in, more than just friends)

We'll find out in 24 years when people are or are not saying that "it's been 25 years since DBD got shot." My guess is that it's a conversation that very few people will be having.
-
Wow ... I never thought that I'd hear that it was wrestlers looking like a 'saggy piece of shit" that killed the NWA. Just an amazingly ignorant observation.
-
I'd be more interested in checking this out more for his stuff in the NWA in the mid/late 80s than for anything else.
