That's my biggest issue with the "form a big ass alliance and win by strength in numbers" evolution of the game. Lydia got MUCH further than players that deserved it more, purely by being a lucky part of a big alliance. I preferred it when players were voted off because they were worthless, not because they weren't part of the big alliance.

I'd be surprised to see them leave Boynton as an A instead of Gill. For who-know-what-reason, the B's seem to think that Gill is deserving of that honor. Boynton seems to be a hair below him on the depth chart. While I agree that he was a piss-poor captain, it's not like he had that fucking thing tattooed on his chest. There's been ample opportunities to take it off, and no one did. Lastly, it seems that Toivenen is getting a lot of the playing time lately. I wonder if they're trying to showcase him to make him more attractive in a trade? At this point, I think that Raycroft would bring more back to the team, and I'd rather see them trade him & keep Hannu.

Is this really that uncommon? I can think of dozens of players that I like, even though I'm either apathetic about their teams or out-and-out dislike the teams. I'd say that there's a player on almost every NHL team that I like, even though I don't like their teams. Conversely, there's players that play for teams that I really, passionately root for that I don't like.

Wait ... did you really just compare a pre-determined sport to a legit sport? Please tell me you were joking. My guess is that they're going to go the Magnum TA/Nikita Kolloff route, and have one guy go up 3-0, the other guy overcome the odds to & come back to tie it only to lose in the seventh match (most likely due to nefarious means).

This is not the admin that you were looking for.

I'm between 5'9" and 5'10", and probably weigh about 170 or so. But I haven't weighed myself in a long-ass time. Know who cares what they weigh: girls.

It's still using the term in a negative way, which is VERY offensive, regardless of my gayness. I guess we could ban the person using the word in a negative way to solve your problem. Mods, FromBeyondTheGrave is offending himself ... can we ban him to correct this situation?

When you say "Early Danzig stuff", do you mean his entire career (including the Misfits & Samhain) or just his Danzig (the band) stuff?

As big of a tool as Stapp is, the fact that the story alludes to him being "punk'd" makes me sick. People that use punk'd are bigger tools that Stapp. And for some reason, I don't find a story on the Howard Stern message board, regarding someone that disprected Stern's girl, to be all that credible. His fanboys make Trekkies and wresling-marks seem sane.

Change "Drew" to "Pedro" and "Joe" to "Ty" and I agree with your Island theory. Drew is a punchline for his lack of mobility, but no one that I know of pretends that he wasn't uber popular. The fact that he was classy on his way out (took out full page ads in the major papers, thanking the fans) helped him out. And only the people in the media that drink the Bruins kool-aid say that Joe was that bad. (Pierce & Millar aren't that popular already, they shouldn't count as people that might be turned on. People have wanted Millar out of town all year, and most Celtics fans I know would be pleased to see Pierce get traded for a guy that wants to be here.)

Outline fits the Red Sox & Pats perfectly . But not the B's or the Celtics. The Sox fans are the worst at writing really revisionist histories, though, and remembering only the bad. (Clemens was a quitter and a traitor. Pedro was selfish. Nomar was a locker room cancer.) The only people that I can think of that got really slammed from the Patriots were Law & Milloy. I can't think of someone that went from beloved to hated once they left either the Bruins or Celtics, though. And, Czech, please don't hesitate to call me out on it if I EVER start to pretend that I wasn't a Thornton fan or if I ever pretend that I was in favor of this trade.

I'm wondering if Judd was dropping bigger & better swears a lot of the time, and was asked to tone it down a little, and thus is using damn in liue of 'fucking' or 'G*d-damn' or something like that. Watch, it'll all be edited and CBS is just inserting the damn instead of a less TV-friendly curse word. And I think Steph will look better this time, at the reunion special, purely because she'll have learned how to present herself better. Much the same way she got her eyebrows waxed before this season, giving her that perpetual surprised look. Regardless of that hag, though, I'm dying to see Danni as she normally looks. I wonder if she'll be one of the ones that looks better on the island than off.

After reading your parody, I think that you're selling yourself short by calling yourself "half gay" ... I'd say you've reached full gay status at this point.
-
Ransome, you forgot "damn" in your list of words that Judd will over-use in the final TC. Every damn sentence he says includes that damn word at least a few damn times, even at damn intervals that don't make much damn sense. I thought tonight was a swank episode, even though (like Kahran pointed out) the way it was presented made it pretty obvious who was getting 86ed. The fact that Judd had just finished his 'everyone wants someone to go home tonight, and it's just too damn bad for that person' spiel right before getting voted off was hilarious. He went from being so antagonistic and cocky to being so humiliated and angry ... just awesome TV. Plus, any episode that shows Danni doing gymnastics in her little outfit ... hmm, hmm, tasty.

Brush with Greatness, there's no 'sticking to the guns' to worry about. I can only speak for myself, but I didn't go off on MOC & the B's for the fun of it. I'm really disappointed in the job he's done of 'rebuilding' a team that finished among the leaders in the East before the lockout. Even when Murray is healthy & in the lineup, the team is literally 50% new players / 50% returning players, and the players that are new are NOT equal to what was lost. So, instead of building on what was already a good nucleus, he's blown it up and is restarting pretty much from scratch. And when Murray is injured, as he is now, the new look B's have a top line of: Samsonov/Zhamnov/Isbister. Two of those 3 guys are 2nd liners AT BEST. And I won't 'bemoan' the team because I pretty much don't care about them anymore. Win or lose, it's all the same to me. Having said all that, from what I saw, the team looked good last night. I'm happy for Hannu for shutting out the Sens, and I'm happy for the new guys for starting off strong. (If they'd had bad nights, and the B's got shelled, the fans would have turned on them and probably not forgiven them.) It's good to see that the shake-up trade accomplished it's goal, and shook the team up. Now let's just see if they can keep it up for any stretch of time.

I'm sure if he helicoptered his dick at Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, he'd find his way to the unemployment line.

Are they from before her ass got all fat?

I should have worded "calendar" differently, Max ... it's just their schedule, but in a calendar format so I can quickly see who they're playing & when. It's not a legit calendar. And I gave thought to jumping on the Sens bandwagon, but a) I can't all of a sudden root for a team that I've been rooting against for the past few years ... b) don't want to jump to the best team in hockey and c) my friend Irene is already a die-hard Sens fan, and she'd give me neverending hell for liking her team. I'll tell you one thing, though, I'll be rooting for them each time Boston goes to Ottawa or vice versa. And I'm with you, I'll keep watching the games. But I'll watch Columbus vs. Phoenix if it's on. I like hockey enough to watch two teams that I'm apathetic about play each other. At this point, I'm still kind of apathetic about Boyes. The other guys that I mentioned are players that I'd be a fan of even if they played on other teams. (e.g. if Murry or Boynton were traded, I'd root for them regardless of what sweater they were wearing). I like Boyes because he's a good, young player that should help the Bruins for years ... but if he played for Tampa instead of Boston, I wouldn't care about him that much. Technically, Leetch is a guy that I care about, too, but I wasn't dancing in the streets over the B's picking him up ... maybe if they'd gotten him 10 years ago. Boon, I agree with you, to an extent: I root for the name on the front of the jersey more than the the name on the back. But at this point, I hate the owner; hate the GM; hate the coach; and dislike a fair amount of their players. Even if I try to overlook all of that, the fact of the matter is that Jacobs & MOC have repeatedly done things to DIRECTLY effect my ability to root for this team. And this just happens to be the straw that broke the camel's back. Plus, Max worded it perfectly ... this isn't a major trade that makes the team stronger ... this is a trade that makes the team substantially worse. Lastly, I've been thinking if the B's are done trading or if this is the first of several moves ... I want to think it's the latter, but I really don't see how that's possible. They might have moved Thornton to clear up some cap room, but the $1.7-million difference isn't enough to justify this move. If they do move someone else (say, Murray or Toivenen) what are they going to get in return that will make a fan say, "see, that makes the Thornton trade worthwhile"? EDIT: Damn, that was a long post. Sorry, all.

If I wanted to test the rapid posting thing. Should I take it to the testing ground? EDIT: Full Edit? Quick Edit?

Barron, for now, yes. I can't say if it'll be permanent or not, because I've never actually abandoned a local team before. But as of now, I really don't care if they win or lose ... well, that's kind of a lie. I'm actually hoping that they bottom out and start to lose games by like a 6-1 margin. So, I don't care if they win and will be quasi-bummed if they lose. This is tough, though: even when the B's or Pats were the worst teams in their respective leagues, I supported them whole-heartedly. But this is different, this is unlike anything that a team that I support has ever done. And at this point, I can count the number of Bruins I like on one hand (Bergeron, Murray, Boynton, Raycroft) ... the rest of the team is somewhere between apathy & out-and-out dislike. I've never been in a position where I was so disinterested in a team's successes or failures.

Oh ... I'd heard it used in a way to indicate that the person was racist because they digested the Racist Bran that morning. Your definition is cooler, Czech. I'm changing my definition.
-
Even though I'm actually siding against the idiots that think that Vince saying "nigga" was ok, I have to admit that I chuckle each time I hear/use "Racist Bran" in a sentence. /just wishes that you had said that I did NOT eat my Racist Bran, since, well, you know, I'm arguing how stupid those people are

The same way that I was willing to root for the Bruins when they weren't going to be a playoff team, I'm willing to root for the Sharks even though that they (most likely) won't be a playoff team.
-
I actually didn't know when the B's were next playing, or who it was against. The B's schedule that's been hung on my wall here at work since early October has been replaced with a Sharks schedule. Sadly, that's a completely truthful statement.
