*Shakes Cartman's hand, and welcomes him to the bandwagon.*

While not GAH!-worthy, add me to the list of people not feeling the new aesthetics. Upgrade? Downgrade.

Oh, it was most assuredly a plot device to add to the intensity of the moment. It just didn't sit well with me. Locke is the kind of guy that types in the numbers without fail, regardless of how little time is left on the clock.
-
Still, it contradicts the Locke that they've shown us for most, if not all, of this series. The cerebral, in-control fountain of knowledge that they've led us to expect would NOT be doing simple typos like a TSM message board poster.
-
This thread is teh awesome. I can't believe that a portion of this board has the mentality that "something that isn't offensive to me can't be offensive to anyone. And people that are offended by it are stupid fuckers.".
-
A small thing that bothered me: Locke screwing up while typing in the #s, having to think about it and make a correction. The Locke that they've shown us for the past 1+ seasons is the kind of guy that would have those numbers memorized, backwards & forwards.

Wasn't sure if I was supposed to post this in the November or December thread ... but since everyone else is talking in this one, I figured I would, too. Not to sound like I'm being overly dramatic, but it's a trade like this that makes me question remaining a B's fan. While the Bourque trade broke my heart, it was obvious that that season was over and Ray deserved a chance to win the Cup, plus it brought some legit talent back to Boston. This trade: is happening WAY too early in the season, has NOTHING to do with rewarding a long-time legendary talent with a chance to win a Cup, and does NOT bring legit talent back to the team, IMO. Sturm & Stuart are decent, but Stuart is not a #1 D-man, which is what trading a person like Thornton should bring back in return. And Sturm is no better than a second liner. And don't even get me started on Primeau, the guy is a journeyman checking line center, which the B's had too many of to begin with. The three players that they picked up will finish with less points & a worse +/- than Joe ... mark my words. The team is saying that they needed depth ... but unless they define depth as "our top line isn't much better than our 4th line" they haven't met that goal. At this point, they are a one-line team, and even that line isn't much better than a 2nd line. On top of that, they're still a piss-poor defensive unit. For at least the time being, I'm not going to consider myself a Bruins fan. They traded the cornerstone of their team, and got far too little in return. I'm apathetic if they win or lose ... this team could go undefeated the rest of the season and I still would be unable to give a shit. Go Sharks.

You make me blush.

Know what's offensive? People being unable or unwilling to recognize that something that might not offend them might be offensive to someone else.

Any chance that he'll be in a DVD re-cut, Milky? I know that Zombie's on record as saying that he cut him out because it just wouldn't have made sense to include him in it ... but why not show those scenes as an extra in the DVD? Also, am I the only one that's surprised that the two movies haven't been released as a dual-disc boxset in time for the holidays?

Rasta the Voodoo Man > Papa Shango How about the Giant surviving his fall off the Joe, or HHH surviving the 30 foot drop in that car? Do those count?

I think a comedy skit, at least partially written & performed by a black man and based around the fact that the name is deemed as 'politically incorrect' is pretty different than an old white guy using it to be funny. Just my opinion, though. Oh, and to reiterate again: I don't find it offensive that Vince said it. I just agree that it's acceptable that some people might have.

I think that TAP took the words out of my mouth. Batista needs to get while the getting's good ... why miss out on PPV pay-days, if he physically can work through the injury. I mean, it's not like he's going to be Hogan or Flair, wrestling at 50-something. EDIT: TAP kinda-took the words out of my mouth is more accurate. I think this is more Batista's choosing to get while he can than Vince's.

I watched a few games on NESN this year ... well, technically, I watched parts of a few games on NESN this year, I can't quite get myself to sit through an entire game. But I find that when nothing is on, CFL is enough to keep my attention for half-an-hour or so. It's like a less 'arcade' game of Arena football.

Ho1kC has the same 'heroes', Matt ... Capt Spalding, Otis, Baby, Mother Firefly & Tiny were all in the first one. This one was pretty much a quasi-related sequel to the original (I say quasi- because it really is a stand-alone flick with a bunch of the same characters.) Rent Ho1kC, but don't expect a similar movie-watching experience.

Melinda is - in my opinion - one of the hottest girls that has every appeared on Real World or Road Rules. If she was on the gauntlet, I'd probably watch it just to leer at her. And look at Lushus, hatin' on the black man again.
-
See, is this becoming a "bands that are popular that I just don't like" thread? Not to single you out, Lushus, but the Beatles? I mean, I hate them with a passion, but I don't have a hard time 'getting' why they're popular. And it's funny, I thought of them & Led Zeppelin pretty quickly ... but realized that while I hate both bands, I do recognize why they're so popular. Rant over.

Gimmick poster, ban plz

Ooooo-kay ... that makes sense, my apologies. I must have missed the memo that said that some stranger on the internet is now responsible for deciding what can be deemed offensive. If you get a minute, make a list for me ... I'd hate to be offended at something when I'm not supposed to be.
-
See, I thought that Joe's was the one that people raved about ... was I wrong? (well, that might be a dumb question, since you're a fan and you're telling me that it's not one of your favorites). Not to encourage p2p, but do you know anywhere to find Zappa online? I'd rather not pay for another disc that I'll just end up selling back for $2.00 (or $3.00 worth of store credit).

I own(ed) Joe's Garage and a live show (I want to see it was at the Fillmore, but don't quote me). And I've heard a bunch of random songs on 'mix-tapes' or as philler on Phish bootlegs. Just never wowed me, Czech.
-
Chaosrage, it's funny that you quoted my post, but seemingly missed my entire point: Who the fuck are any of us to tell someone else what they should consider offensive? Personally, I'm not offended by Vince saying what he said, but I'm not going to get on my high-horse and tell people that they shouldn't be offended by it. And my Owen example IS comparable: some people might be more offended by it than others. As I stated, I wouldn't find that offensive, either, but I would defend other people's right to be offended by it.

Stupidest/Worst/Most Offensive Smackdown (Special)
nl5xsk1 replied to Fuzzy Dunlop's topic in The WWE Folder
I 'luckily' caught this part of the Special ... and was more offended that Rey would ask Eddie for help than I was that they used his low-rider to 'kill' the Undertaker. Blame McMahon all you want, but Rey could have very easily said "I'll drive the lowrider to the ring to help the Orton/Taker angle, but I will not call out my dead friend's name during the match." I'm not sure how serious/sarcastic RRR was with his "the wrestlers were closer to Eddie than you are" post ... but truthfully, if someone like Rey was willing to participate, we shouldn't crucify McMahon for doing it. -
Max, did you see Gill actually flinch and AVOID the shot by Mogilny at the end? He did a fine job of screening Razor, only to move and avoid actually blocking the shot that ended up beating the B's. Just a wonderful player to watch ... I can't wait to tell my grandkids that I got to see Hal Gill in his prime. And while I agree with you that MOC is just sitting there doing nothing ... there's really nothing he can do. He can't make chicken soup out of chicken shit. The team has next to no one that they can trade: they're pretty much entirely overpaid and underachieving, or 4th liners/AHL-caliber players. What GM - other than MOC - would be dumb enough to make a move for any of them?!?
