Same song, same year, different show: Cornell, 5/8/77. Oh, trust me, I know. The most recent ex-gf was a big Deadhead so I DL'ed a bunch of shows to listen to when she was around. Turns out that I actually like certain songs, so even though the gf is an ex-, the songs remained on the iPod. And since so little of my music is work-friendly, the Dead seem to be a pretty regular fixture while I'm here.

RRR, I'd say the one that I quoted below is perfect ... it gives away who the main character will be, but hides the actual plot lines. Gives the best of both worlds. So, in my opinion, episode lists are not spoilers, but episode plot-lines are.

While it'd be good to show a TNA wrestler looking stupid, it'd also remind the fans that The Rock's not around anymore. Keep him out of sight, and out of mind, and people will be less likely to clamor for his return.

I had the 'pleasure' of going to the game last night ... that giveaway by Gill was inexcusable. I don't see how someone can so consistently NOT clear the puck the way he does. And I'd tie the rope around his neck, not his waist. I know that you're a Samsonov fan, Max, but I really think that he's who they should trade to get a D. You need to trade quality to get quality, and making up a package of young guys & picks won't get the team what they need: a legit #1 or #2 d-man. Trade Samsonov for a quality d, and then when Leetch is healthy they'd have 3 legit defensemen (Leetch, Boynton, and the new guy) mixed in with Slegr, Moran (if he's healthy) and one of the kids, maybe Alberts.

The only problem with that, Zack, is that they rarely note that he's a professional wrestler when he's on VH1. Having said that, though, it'd be better for TNA to have Jericho represent TNA in public than Benoit. Benoit can bring the workrate, but he's not exactly smooth in front of a camera. You could put Jericho on a show like Conan O'Brien or the BDSSP or something, and he'd have a personality that might make a casual follower want to see him again.

I guess a lot of my dislike for the Winslow gimmick is that 'his' posts go on far too long. The Burger King gimmick == short & sweet post, easy to read (well, in that case, open) and easy to ignore. But Winslow's posts are long & rambling, and painfully redundant. I'm at the point that I just skip the post & read everyone's responses to it.

He wasn't a problem last year. Everything started this off-season. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It started when McNabb had the audacity to say that he thought that they could win without TO. Which was the only thing he COULD say and SHOULD say. It seems that TO wanted him to throw the rest of the team under the bus and say "boo hoo hoo, without TO we're lost! we're doomed! we're screwed!". Which is what makes it so laughable for TO to be saying something like "we'd be better with Favre than we are with McNabb". He got all pissy because someone dared imply that they could win without him, then proved to be a huge hypocrite by saying something much more damning and thinking it'd be Ok.

Very good theory, Mik ... makes sense in hindsight.

Not that race should make a difference, but I wonder if the WWE putting the belt on a black wrestler would effect TNA's chances of putting their belt on Monty Brown?

Has there ever been a less humorous gimmick than the Eddie Winslow one?

If Walt's using his shinning to communicate to Shannon ... why just her? Why not his father or someone that might be able to help a little more than her? And why is he talking in reverse? Us knowing their story and the survivors knowing their story aren't comparable. Much the same way that we know that Locke can't really walk. And that Hurley's a millionaire. And that Kate was a fugitive long before the islanders knew. I'm a firm believer is showing the audience rather than telling the audience, and with Ana Lucia's little speech last night, they took 40+ days on the island and wrapped them up in a 45 second speech.

^ That's what I think ... Shannon & Sayid hallucinated Walt due to the sickness. For all we know, one of the symptoms of the sickness is a bit of clairvoyance, and thus they're 'communicating' with Walt even though he's not really right there (if that makes sense). I didn't really like the way that they've introduced the tail-enders to the Season 1 survivors before they showed us the tail-enders story. And on top of that, spoiled what happened to the tail-enders by having Ana Lucia give us a 30 seconds synopsis of what happened. I'd have preferred it if they showed next week's episode before this week's. It's have just made more sense in my mind. One other nitpick: it kind of took the drama about which castmember was going to be killed when they really only showed two possibilities (Shannon & Ana Lucia) ... Claire was on for like 5 minutes, Rose for like 60 seconds, and the other women weren't shown at all. Even if I hadn't read the spoilers, it was pretty obvious who was going to die.

Man, if Christian hadn't of left, now would have been the perfect chance to give him the belt and see what he could do with it. Christian feuding with Eddy & Rey for the next few months would have given me a reason to watch Smackdown. It's funny how the most sensible thing to do is the one that they're least likely to do: Strip him of the belt & have a tourney. With the current state of the Smackdown roster, they could easily field an 8 man field, all with a reasonable chance of winning. (JBL, Orton, Benoit, Booker, Eddie, Rey, Kennedy, Lashley, Hardy, hell they could add a Raw wrestler just to increase the hype for SS.)

Know what would make these simulated press conferences more interesting? Midgets. I mean, it's always so funny when the WWE brings out midgets to emulate the face, right? Right??

Most likely a spoiler from next week's episode, Fishy, which is focused on the rear survivors.

I'm going to quasi-contradict my earlier post ... when I finished the first season of OZ on DVD, I wanted to race out and buy season two RIGHT THEN. So, I can see how it'd be addicting and all. But, I didn't buy season 2, and now it's been like 8 months and I still haven't picked up it. So, if it is addicting, it's not THAT addicting.

My favorite is Pinhead. Just awesome. My favorite 'real' person that's a homicidal maniac in movies is Leatherface, pre-crossdressing of course. Once they made him TS/TV, he became a lot less cool. My favorite random horror movie story: I saw Candyman in the theatre while in Chicago for a vacation. My cousin thought it'd be funny to take us all through Cabrini Green afterwards, to show what it's really like. Being the only caucasians, driving through CG late at night, was scarier than the movie was by a lot.

^ Agreed. For most shows, I'd rather just borrow them from friends or rent them or something ... I don't need to see the same episodes countless times for the most part. Having said that, though, I got LOST Season one yesterday, and I'm likely to watch that a few times, primarily to see certain clues or number references that I might have missed in the first viewing.

If MOC doesn't make a move to shore up the defense, they should just fire his ass immediately. I don't care what forwards they have to trade (other than Thornton, Bergeron or Murray) ... make a farking trade, man. It's blatantly obvious that this defense is NOT NHL-caliber, and that they will not be able to win close games until they pick up at least one more top 2 or 3 d-man. At this point, Boynton's the only healthy D that I have any faith in at all.

Even as a lifelong Pats fan (and Steeler hater) I have to say that I thought that they were the best team in the AFC (regular season only). The Colts & Pats were right up there, but the Steelers were the class of the AFC. Having said that, though, being the best team in the post season is really the only thing that matters. I'd rather my team go 10-6 and then be undefeated in the playoffs than go 15-1 and only to lose a postseason game. I think that it's a stretch to call people posting celebratory posts after their team wins a big game 'flamebaiting'. And if it is, how is your picture any better/different than the ugly Pats fans flamebaiting in the past?!?

I don't think it's weird that you were looking at her face, Lushus. If all we were supposed to look at was her ass, why bother including the face in the picture? And Candice > Trish. By a lot.

Technically, it's not that important to either team: the two teams are in different divisions and most likely are not competing for home field advantage in the postseason. But if I had to pick one side that "needed" it more, I'd say Indy. If they'd lost last night, people would have said "they can't even beat a beaten up NE team" ... but they were able to beat the Pats, and it really should shut up a lot of the nay-sayers. The three upcoming games against the Bills & Dolphins, along with the two Jets games, are infinitely more important to the Patriots. Only a real die-hard would pretend that they have a chance at the #1 or #2 spot in the AFC, so they really are playing for the Eastern crown and the Eastern crown only. Realistically, NE fans should only concentrate on the East now ... their standing versus the Steelers/Chargers/Broncos/Colts/etc is pretty much irrelevant, in my opinion.
