Am I the only one that thinks that it'd be bad for the Colts to beat the Pats this week? I've been hearing all season that this game was so huge for them, and that they've been gearing up to beat NE. There's been articles about how Freeney & Manning (among others) have been looking forward to this game since the schedule was announced. In my eyes, it shows that Indy's eyes really aren't on the ultimate prize, the Super Bowl. This game is a regular season game that really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. Highlight of my season would be seeing the Colts win on Monday only to lose to NE in the playoffs ... especially if the game was in Indy.

Max, you jinxed the B's by saying "God forbid anyone should get injured. They only have essentially six defensemen." ... I haven't heard how long Leetch is going to be out, but anything longer than a few games ... ugh. Alberts and/or Dallman would be fine as part of a 3rd pairing. But with the way the B's are, they have to eat up so much ice time. Hopefully the B's can make up a package that would get them at least a 2nd pairing D-man (start with Hillbert, who still wants to get out of town, and throw in a few other guys). I'm very disappointed in the Bruins, but they really haven't had a full roster yet. Hopefully these last few injuries are the end of the cycle (for now) and they can field the full team that they invisioned before the season.

Two stupid questions: 1) Where did they say Crush was from that he was a "Foreign Fanatic"? Basically, why was an American on an anti-American team? 2) Why would they completely ignore that Mike Rotundo was a former WWF Champion (from his days tagging with Windham) and just refer to him as his IRS persona?

Theo's biggest accomplishment was rebuilding the farm system. Yes, I fully recognize that he GMed the WS winning team, but I really think that was due more to his mentality (D & Pitching wins WS, not power hitters that can't field). It shouldn't be difficult to find another GM that follows that mind-set to replace Theo. Finding another GM that can do such a good job with the minor league teams will prove more difficult. And I'm interesting in seeing how much of a winner Theo is when he doesn't have a $100m payroll to play with. Quoted just to re-emphasize how accurate this statement is.

While I agree, Corey, I really do think that it's easy for a fed to 'erase' past history as needed. If Christian came in, spent a few months winning a few big matches, and looking really, really strong, people would be less likely to say "but he lost a bunch of matches on Smackdown a few months ago".

Seeing as NE still has 5 games against the AFC East, I really don't think a loss to Indy would relegate them to "non threat" status. All they'd have to do is win most of their division games, and they'd pretty much be guaranteed a playoff spot. Yeah, it'd most likely be a home game on Wild Card weekend, compared to having the bye week and then a home game the week after ... but to say that they'd be out of the hunt isn't accurate.

I went to the Boston-NJ game on Saturday, and after seeing the shootout in person for the first time, I really feel the need to reiterate what I've said since day 1: it sucks, and has NO place in the NHL. Yeah, I'm sure that if the B's had won in the SO, I'd be less down on it ... but it just felt so unnatural to watch 65 minutes of actual hockey and then have the game be decided on a skills competition. I really think that moving forward, I'm leaving at the end of the OT ... I can just find out who 'won' the game later.

When he gets out on bail, they're all dead. At least that was probably her point of view. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All she has to do is prove that he's a threat to her & the kids, or a threat to run, and he'd be denied bail. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's a very naive belief. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Which part is the naive part? The threat to the family, or the threat to run? Because I know I've heard of people being denied bail for the latter; the former was just a presumption. If nothing else, the guy would be kept in jail while awaiting the bail hearing, which would give the enabler ... oops, I mean female victim ... the chance to take the kids and run.

Ohh, the Bombshelter. I've seen some really bad shows there. Murphy's Law about 2 years ago, maybe a little less ... ugh, one of the worst show's I've ever seen. The BS seems to bring out the worst in bands, IMHO. But you've got to love a bar that has "cannot wear your colors" signs. Between that place, and the Uptown Tavern ... man, Manchester has some fun fucked up bars.

K, I recognize that you got burnt by Alias ... but that's no reason to be so doom-n-gloom about LOST. Let's let the show get piss-poor before we start talking about how it is piss-poor. A-fucking-greed.

fuck... I'm not even gonna bother watching...actually, I'd say they're pretty well matched up, taking into account injuries and such...the AFC East is gonna give the NFC North a run for it's money in shitty-ness... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why aren't you going to watch, Lushus? I figure the Bills have a resonable chance of winning ... it seems that your boys normally give the Pats all they can handle (occasional 31-0 games not-included). Should be a good game. When all is said and done, though, the division should really be won by New England, with Buffalo second, Miami third, and the Jets a distant 4th.

They couldn't do it now, since Benoit's suicide dive would pwn it ... but that'd actually be a cool spot: jumping through the ropes, onto and then sliding off of the announcers table. Minimal chance of injury with a swank look to it.

So Joe'll be wiping his ass in other guy's faces? Or pretending he's Japanese? Or teaming with another Somoan as a primitive barefoot savage?
-
Yeah, because it's MUCH more believable to have a guy quit heroin like ~that~. (with ~that~ == someone snapping their fingers).

I've said this before, but not on TSM: Rhino just filled the Ronnie Garvin role. TNA needed someone that was willing to have a wicked short run as champ. It'd be stupid to waste the first title win for Joe, Brown, Daniels or Abyss in that situation and it'd be counterproductive for Styles, Raven or Killings to have another run only for it to end in a week. So TNA needed to find someone to win the belt only to lose it pretty much immediately. And evidently Rhino was willing to fill that role. Was it stupid for them to hotshot the belt so quickly? Yes. But in my opinion, it'd have been even more stupid to have Jarrett keep the belt at the PPV. Just my $0.02

Why we bother incarcerating these monsters, instead of just taking them out back and shooting them, is beyond me. I'd be more than willing to pull the trigger on both parents, without a second of hesitation. The only thing that might be preferable to a quick kill would be to punish them via the "eye for an eye" mentality, and just make them suffer beyond belief. I can see why the wife would be scared of the husband, but what stopped her from calling the police when he wasn't around and having him arrested? He can't kill her & the kids from behind bars.

It shows how little the Pack thinks of FredEx ... they'd rather have a guy with the nickname "Taco" than him. Man, I wish I knew some Bills fans, so I could talk shit in preparation for the game on Sunday. Too bad I can't think of any Bills fans.

He's done some short-time fill in here in Boston. He's WICKED annoying to listen to. My guess is that his show will be pulled in less than a year. Of course, at this point anything would be more enjoyable than Stern.

I'd be more likely to kill and eat a fellow castaway than I'd be to kill myself. Things would have to be wicked bad-off for me to kill myself, and seeing as they've had food, shelter, etc since pretty much day one, I think I'd have been able to avoid offing myself.

Bruiser, I don't necessarily disagree with you ... I do think that MLB should have NO say in whether the roof is open or not. But it doesn't make sense to compare the grandest stage of all (the World Series) with the NLDS or NLCS. And to say that MLB is purposely rigging it so the White Sox have a better chance of winning is laughable.

That's a real stretch, as you're generally talking about maybe 1 or 2 teams there. I don't see anything particularly wrong with curling, other than the typically slow pace of the game. But then, I'm Canadian. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The most recent curling that I watched was the US vs. Sweden. Needless to say, I was rooting for the Amerks. And while there are a lot of Omega Moos on the team, the US had some talent: http://www.usacurl.org/athletes/biographie..._johnson05.html http://www.usacurl.org/athletes/biographie..._schultz05.html (there were a couple of others that were decent, but not worth C&Ping on The Pit) -

I actually watch curling each time I catch it on TV. Maybe it's just because it's rarely on, and thus it's kind of 'a treat' to watch it, and if it was on every week I'd not tune in. And I do have to admit, I watch women's curling for the eye-candy as much as I do for the love of the sport. -
Ugh ... I absolutely hate it when fans think that a sport is purposely altering the Series to let one team win over another. Maybe baseball is stepping in now because they don't want the World Series games that the whole nation is allegedly watching to be impacted by one team's obvious home field manipulation. Last year in the NFL playoffs, the NFL made the Patriots re-sod their stadium before the game vs. the Colts. Should I have accused the league of wanting the Colts to win?!? Even if the league DID want the White Sox to win it all, wouldn't they at least want the Series to go as long as possible? If anything, they should be rooting Astros now, and then switching back to rooting Sox after the Stros have won a few games.
