And I'm willing to wager that most ROH fans are already aware of the WWE product ... it's not like he's giving insight to a new, undiscovered competitor to ROH.

Fox Sports in the States shows British dart competitions, too. I'd rather watch dart competitions from the UK than either basketball or baseball.

I don't have TiVo (hell, I don't even pay for cable) but most of my friend's do. It's pretty cool to pause a live sporting event to go outside and smoke, and come back 10 or 15 minutes later and resume watching the game without skipping a beat.

How thick is your stubble? If I even try to shave without shaving gel (shaving cream is teh suXor) I get brutal razor burn. But then again, I have a 5:00 shadow already, and I shaved at 6 this morning. Moral of my story: if all you've got is whiskers, yeah, skip the shaving gel/cream. If you've got enough hair, use it and save yourself a shitload of burn.

You would think that after I mentioned that we already covered this in the thread devoted to useless tripe that doesn't require a thread, that people would get the message but that was asking too much. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The problem with those threads is that they get so long, it's hard to post something without the risk of it being a repost. And what's so wrong about a pointless thread that is likely to be bumped off the front page in like a week? It's not like there's a finite number of threads that we can use, and once that limit is reached we're SOL.

Where was the PTC when I was a kid and Benny Hill was on regular TV at 5:30 pm ... nothing more wholesome than watching old British men chasing young, lingerie-clad byrds as a 7-year-old while waiting for dinner to be ready. Yet to show animated nudity at 9:30 on a Sunday night is 'stop the presses' bad.

Scissorfight puts on a pretty good show. I've seen them a couple of times now, and have been pretty impressed each time. BTW, Cheesala ... where are you from that you're checking out the Phoenix?

While I'm not a fan of his music, and have no interest in seeing him get killed, I do have to say that getting capped could only help his career ...

It's not as hard to find a spot as people claim ... it's not much worse than Chicago, NYC or Philly ... you've just got to know where to look. It's funny, I was waiting for SOMEONE to post a "it's not that bad" argument. I really don't think one is coming.

It is a good call, for the long term. One say Comcast is going to win the "digital war" and be the dominant media company in North America. At that point the NHL is going to be glad they hooked up with Comcast early on and built a relationship with them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While the other three leagues lament their partnerships with PRIMITIVE ESPN! BETTMAN WILL BE LAUGHING I SAY <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If the other leagues were treated with as much disrespect from ESPN as the NHL was, they'd be keen on getting away, too. Preseason baseball gets more attention than the NHL end of regular season/beginning of postseason. I'm glad the NHL made a decision that might be foolish in the shorterm but could be brilliant in the longterm. It was a safe gamble, IMHO.

I've seen Another State of Mind ... I definitely dug it, and it is indeed Youth Brigade that they toured with. It's funny, though, so many other people in the early hardcore scene make fun of them for that movie. I'll have to check out the new video.

It is possible... but then it wouldn't be a one night stand. It doesn't surprise me though. But I think that a lot of that is because I was accustomed to seeing the Horsemen (well, Flair & Tully at least) in suits. So to see them fighting in suits wasn't that weird. To see Angle or HBK in suits is weird to begin with, let alone seeing them fight in them.

At least it didn't look as ridiculous as HBK, Kurt Angle, Batista, and HHH kicking each others' asses several months ago on Raw while wearing slacks and suits on the show. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See, the wrestlers fighting while wearing suits reminds me of the oldschool NWA, when the Horsemen would attack people while still dressed in suits. Tully would undoubtedly take off his dress shoe to use as a weapon, which always cracked me up. I have no issue with them fighting in suits.

Don't even joke about that. Just don't. Gill has found a way to be even worse this year than he was in the past. And he'd set the bar pretty freaking low in the past. Sadly, he's going to be another Don Sweeney: a Bruin for most of his career, even though he does absolutely nothing to warrant keeping. Re: the OLN coverage ... I'm with you, Max. They zoom in WAY too close. Even when the puck's not in play, the other night in the B's game they power-zoomed on Boynton while he was sitting on the bench ... and not doing anything. He wasn't talking, he wasn't grimacing in pain, NOTHING ... just sitting there. Even weirder, they didn't even talk about him while showing him. And on top of that, during the Leetch interview in the intermission, they zoomed in so close you couldn't even see his entire face: it was just mid-forehead to lower lip. I figured that something was happening in the background (naked pillow fight, for example) that prevented them from being further out, but when they zoomed out, there was no way that the background could have even been seen. It was just non-sensical zooming. Yes, this isn't ESPN we're talking about.
