Try jabbing a q-tip in there ... it'll absorb the tears.

Was it when he saw 'him' or when he saw the bear? I thought he sketched because he saw what was presumably a young kid with a toy.

In the grand scheme of things, the respect people have for 'sports entertainers' is pretty limited to begin with. Having said that, though, I couldn't agree more. Nothing was funnier than Austin storming the ring in his denim shorts and fanny pack, looking to kick ass but looking more like a guy that can't find his daughter's at 6 Flags.

I miss Chris Nowinski

Kayfabe's long dead ... no reason to have wrestlers wear their gimmicks. I don't agree that a suit & tie should be mandatory, and I think that they should be able to wear what they want. But should someone that was saddled with a stupid gimmick <coughKerwinWhitecough> have to dress a certain way all the time?

Walt was one of those Others Eko and Jin saw? Is this based on the Teddy Bear, because as far as I can remember, Walt had no teddy bear. I thought the 'girl' with the teddy bear was supposed to make us think of alix. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I, like most people, was focused on the teddy bear rather than the person holding it ... but I don't remember the feet in question being black. Anyone with access to it on video/TiVo able to confirm or dispute the race of the person?

My opinion: He's hyping his book. Period. I'm sure they threw some extra money at him for a match or a beatdown in an interview but the reason he's coming back is to spread the word about his book. The time spent in the WWE is little more than time spent on the Jimmy Kimmel show. It's all about increasing the book sales. /doesn't bother me.

I'm with Porter ... just because the Cubs get more national love doesn't mean that they're the only ones that matter. The Cubs are 'lovable losers' that picked up a huge following because they were on almost every day on WGN when it was a nationwide superstation (and literally every day, since they only played day games at home then). The White Sox were a moderately successful team that had an owner that was largely disliked and a stadium that wasn't ~Wrigley~ even though Comiskey was a classic old park. Even now, they play in the projects while the Cubs play in Yuppie-filled Wrigleyville. And F you all for your Pats-fan hatred ... just because a lot of fans jumped on the bandwagon doesn't mean we didn't exist before hand. I didn't sit through games during the Meyer or MacPherson or Berry or Pete fucking Carroll because I like watching bad football.

RRR, I disagree ... Locke could have taken Ethan out if he wanted to ... he just didn't think it was his role.

I think that the two teams that lost in the championship series are more hated than either of the teams that won. People might not care about Houston or the White Sox, but to say that they're hated is laughable. LaRussa alone is probably more hated than either the Astros or White Sox are in their entirety. Re: Instant Reply ... I'm not a fan. Even when not having it hurts my local teams (e.g. that phantom tag by Knoblauch in a Red Sox/Yankees series a few years go) I don't think that it's necessary. The game has existed for years, with the occasional fuck-ups of the umpires ... no need to change now.

Just a general response to the 'but such-and-such match is already on another DVD' ... why would the WWE not release said match on a second DVD? I mean, not everyone buys every DVD.

If I want to say something that I think, I'm going to. To tell me not to share a theory that I had is fruitless. Plus, not all of us come across as knowing-it-all about the show. EDIT: re-worded with less ferocity. No reason to drag down a good thread with my response. EDIT 2: I fucked up and put my EDIT as a new post.

While he's not the household name that he seemingly thinks he is, Nash is a plus for TNA just to be able to do things like this. No matter how much better Styles, Daniels, Joe, whomever, are in the ring, they would not be able to do a full blown press conference at this time. Nash has a history in wrestling, is 'lareger than life' size-wise, and is well spoken.

While I agree, I thought that gay was spelled ghey on the intarweb.

crazy...i'm the same way...I rarely jerk off to porn, I just imagine past lays... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I sometimes think of porn I've jerked off to while getting laid. Depends on the girl, the situation, and a whole bunch of other shit. But more than once I've thought about things I've seen online instead of thought about the girl that I was with.

Edited for nl5 accuracy.

Isn't this what WCW did once with Jarrett/Sting? Only with actors playing the various incarnations of Sting? It would be completely convoluted to pull that off but it's right up WWE's alley. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed they did ... http://www.wrestlecrap.com/newinduction1.html And I don't get how it was dishonorable for him to go back to the WWE instead of TNA ... if anything, going back to the place that made you rich and famous is more honorable than not going back. And to be pissed because he wants to make money and plug his books is bullshit. Regardless of morals or whatever word you want to use, he's a businessman making a smart business decision.

Technically, Cambridge Mass ... and I'm so there this weekend. The Brattle's been bringing their a-game lately, I saw Izo there last week and was going to see Three Extremes on Sunday, but it would have meant missing the Pats game ... of course, seeing as the Pats got shelled, maybe I made the wrong choice. But I digress ... before Izo they played the trailer for The Roost ... damn, did that look good. I can't wait to see it.

RRR spits the truth on that ... there were arguments on this board in season 1 about how things were moving too slowly, and that there weren't enough answers to the questions ... but that's how they get fans to tune in, give us a little and then leave us wanting more. When people are reading a book, do they read the first 2 chapters, find out the basic hook, and then immediately read the end? Of course not, even when the book has occasional lulls in action. Nothing can sustain non-stop action, especially a full season of TV. Wait ... so you complain about the season being boring, and then say that you want them to show scenes of people reading the book titles?!? Or staring at the walls and trying to figure out what a mural means? I presume that the characters HAVE done both of those things, and the writers are implying that they didn't learn enough to actually show it as part of our view into their world. I'm starting to have my doubts if Mr Echo was actually on the plane ... he just seems to able (for lack of a better word) on the island. Perhaps he was already on the island and managed to assimilate into the tailers during the post-crash confusion? Lastly, on a personal note: Jack might have been the one that took down Ethan, but anyone that thinks that Locke couldn't have is fooling himself. Locke just knew that it wasn't his action to take. Locke could take out just about anyone he wanted ... except maybe Mr Echo.

Were Dusty & Scott Hall friendly behind the scenes? I felt that it was weird for those two to allign, and just presumed it was because they got along behind the scenes and thus wanted to allign in the ring.

^ Knowing the WWE's tendency to put African Americans in stables/tags or just feud with each other ... Sharmell, meet Orlando Jordan. Orlando, meet your feud with Booker T.

People deem it racist because it effects one race more than the other, and thus the implication is that when black players dressed "whiter" it was Ok ... but now that they dress in a more 'urban' fashion it's unacceptable.

Wellll, it's the Big Show.

I can only guess that he blames himself for the way that this season's gone ... and thus he's rushing back in as quickly as he can to try and salvage the season. While his being out is part of the problem (the aforementioned Beisel & Brown are killing the Pats when it comes to stopping the run) I can't see his return doing much to help the team. I'm with you, Lushus: being there to watch your kids grow up should take precedence over anything else. He's already guaranteed himself a spot as a Patriots legend (and there's really no chance that he's a HOF caliber player even if he comes back) ... why risk everything?

The title is being used to advance the angle for the wrestlers ... the wrestlers aren't being used to elevate the title.
