As a fan of a rival team, Price scares me. The kid always seems to be in position and unflustered; sitting in the alleged Garden and comparing the composure of Price to Thomas was, as a B's fan, painful. And with that one offensive line, the Habs still have one more than Boston does. If Sturm scores on even half of his legit scoring opportunities, this series is 180 degrees different. And Murray? Ugh, I've never seen an alleged sniper be so snake-bit. If I'm Claude Julien, I'm healthy scratching Murray in game 5 and putting Kessel in his place. Kessel might not help the team win, but it'd at least give the kid a little more exposure to the world of the post-season. And he really can't do less than Murray or Sturm.

Interestingly, the US is getting the CBC feed for some of the later games that they're playing on Versus. I feel bad that y'all are getting the inferior US feed, and the US is getting the Canadian one. Sorry about that. If you mean in the Studio, it's "Mad" Mike Milbury. The two of them are horrid together, it's such a forced shtick. Milbury is trying to create a quasi-Don Cherry persona, and him & McGuire do these stupid (and blatantly forced) arguments. The only good thing about Milbury's shtick is that he sometimes does the Bruins coverage for NESN and he's always willing to say the contrarian thing ... which is a breath of fresh air around here, normally it's everyone toeing the company line no matter how wrong it is.

As shitty his act in Game 3 was four years ago, he scored 35 this year. It wasn't a bad deal when it happened, but Dallas made out like bandits, regardless of how we feel about him. I think he only scored 27 or so this season. And got a big ol' $5m/season contract for his efforts. I think the only one that made out like a bandit is Mikey Ribs. 5 years at $5m for a guy that only averaged about 15 goals a year before this one year? If he turns out to be a one-year wonder, Dallas will rue to the day that it made out like a bandit, IMHO.

So, Montreal dominates game one, is borderline overmatched in game two (but get, arguably, lucky with a win), and then completely overmatched in game three, and yet you'll say it's the last game that the Habs will lose? I'm not so confident that I think the Bruins will win the series, but I am willing to stick my neck out and say that another win or two is likely. And - having said that - I wouldn't be stunned to see Boston win the series. The Bruins are trending up right now ... the Habs are not. And a question for those of you from north-of-the-border ... it seems, to my biased eyes, that the Habs are diving to an extreme degree in this series, especially in game 2. The smallest tap has them flying to the ice as if they were shot. Is this getting any attention up there, or is it me being a biased Boston-fan and thus it's not really that bad?

There you go again, calling this a fight, Ripper ... If one of these girls had confronted the girl, I'd have had no problem with it. If ALL of these girls confronted the girl, and only one got physical with her, I'd have had no problem with it. But to get a group together and do it in this fashion? At that point, we're not talking the fights that you & I got in when we were younger, Rip. If this was just a fight - one on one, until someone wins and someone loses - it wouldn't be a big deal. And - for the record - I don't agree with life sentences for these girls. Nor do I want to blame the internet or society or rap music or horror movies or video games or any other scapegoat that the media likes to blame when shit like this happens.

Other than a few bands that I like to support by actually buying their CD's in a store, I'm at the point that I download everything that I want or need. Most of what I'm downloading are older releases, anyways, so it's not like I'm really effecting their status on the Billboard charts or anything like that. And most of what I download is from blogs or message boards. The exception to my "download everything that I want or need" decree is vinyl. There are a few record stores that sell good, old vinyl, so I still buy those occasionally.

If it had been a beatdown on the street - even a 6 on 1 beatdown - this wouldn't be a big deal. Even if it was videotaped. But it was premeditated, involved what is legally "false imprisonment" (by not letting her leave) and "kidnapping" (by forcing her into a car and transporting her to another location. I'll fully agree that some people - the Nancy Graces of the world & news-media - are making this into a bigger situation than it is. But by the letter of the law, this isn't a simple beat-down. And it's certiainly not a fight. And if you're going to argue about the pussification of society, Ripper, how about the girls that were so upset that this girl made fun of them on myspace that they had to give her a group beat-down? Someone talks shit about you, you go after them. You don't conspire with your friends for a quasi-elaborate beat-down and a "you better not tell anyone!" threat.

I like how Ripper calls: 1) luring someone to a house 2) attacking them and knocking them unconscious by pushing them into a wall 3) moving them to a different room 4) waiting for them to regain consciousness 5) giving them a group beat-down 6) driving them to a different location & threatening them that the next beating will be worse if they notify the police a "fight". There are shades of grey when it comes to malicious intent; their intention wasn't to fuck her up irreperably or kill her or anything, their intent (and it was malicious in my book) was to beat her and post it on the internet. My first thought when I saw the video: Those girls throw some weak-ass punches. If I was going to film a beat-down and post it on the internet, I'd probably work on my punches before doing so. My second thought: Man, with those weak fighting skills, those girls are going to be some butch's 'wife' about 5 minutes after they shut the cell doors.

I'll get the conversation started: I had dinner & drinks with the one-armed girl the other night. Was pleased to see how smoking she looked (I hadn't seen her since December and she'd lost some weight and was looking very tan). Was less pleased when she told me about her new boyfriend.

Thats if Joe Thorton actually plays. I don't think he's played a playoff game yet in his career. He had 11 points in 11 games last year, and 9 points in 11 games the year before. His playoff career points-per-game stats are skewed by his rookie year (zero points in six games, but with 4th line numbers) and the brutal 0-fer he had against the Canadiens when he had broken ribs. The "Thornton sucks in the playoffs" meme is relatively inaccurate IMHO.

I think my target livestock would be females, preferably between the ages of 18 & 28. They would have to be childless. Drug & disease free. Not too fat, but certainly not just skin & bones, either. I don't think that I'd limit myself to just one race or religion; variety is the spice of life. So, I guess the people I'd eat would be pretty comparable to the people that I'd fuck.

Philly being the odd-team out would make my day; they were the team responsible for Boston's two worst injuries this season (the questionable hit on Bergeron & the out-right cheap-shot on Alberts), plus I detest a fair amount of their fanbase. Having them suffer through last season & then make such a splash at the deadline & in the off-season and STILL miss the postseason would be exquisite. Then again, them not making it makes a Boston/Montreal first round match-up VERY likely, and that's not something that's appetizing at all.
