    LOST

I really dug last night's episode, but feel like it should have been on LAST WEEK, with last week's on last night. To have two episodes about Kate, Sawyer & Jack (including one that was seemingly a build episode) before one about Locke & company just doesn't make sense to me. Having said that: At first I was down on the sweat lodge aspect, because it was so out-of-line with everything that we'd seen about Locke, but then they showed the flashbacks and it made much mroe sense. It was still a bit too "Walker, Texas Ranger" for me, but the actual visions were sick. The whole idea of Boone pushing Locke, in the wheelchair, through the airport and pointing out who doesn't need help (or who doesn't need help yet) was awesome. And this might be reading too much into things, but the only people that I caught that were working at the airport, rather than there as a traveler, where Ben ........ and Hurley. Is that foreshadowing? That's an awesome point, Mik ... I hadn't thought of that. Even pre-island, Locke wasn't a huge threat - the whole being-in-a-wheelchair thing limited him. So, there's a good chance that Ben is ill-prepared for Locke the Hunter.

ding dong the bitch is dead

Well, if you put it that way, I guess an "Uh oh" might be needed after all. I stand corrected.

The "abilities as a message boarder" that I referenced would include, but not be limited to: able to provide entertainment & amusement and able to converse with me about subjects that I like talking about. Leena accomplished both of the above. No "Uh oh" needed, Slayer.

Leena > Ginger Snaps. Sorry, Ginger, I really don't have anything much against you ... but Leena's one of my all-time favorites.

I'm confused how I managed to pull off the uber-rare 20 minute double-post. I must have some amazing internet skillz to do things like that.

No pressure, Czech, but I'm going to need you to step up your game in Leena's absence. Won't someone please think of the niskie?

    Heroes

See, while I agree that the hotel scene was way too drawn out & boring, I thought it accomplished what it set out to accomplish: showed that she was a good person who - really - was incapable of doing something so 'bad' & showed that he was a bad guy without much of a conscience. I'm presuming the struggle between her two sides ("good-vs-evil") will play out throughout the season and that his evil politician persona will do the same. Boring, but a good foundation setter. Having said that, I really liked last night's episode ... maybe my favorite since the premiere. Hiro & his buddy in Vegas was awesome, up-to-and including their Rain Man "reference" (for lack of a better word) and when Hiro takes the punch in his face when his friend tells the goon about his friend's "powers". The cheerleader subplot - other than the horrible stuff with her father - gets cooler and cooler each week. The fact that the other girl was raped by the QB was lame & predictable, but if that's what it took to get Claire (that is her name, isn't it??) to up & kill him, it was a necessary evil. The scenes with the artist painting the future? Tremendous. And most importantly: Future Hiro + "Save the cheerleader ... save the world" = an awesome last few minutes. The good definitely dwarfed the bad again last night ... a very solid episode.

No, you're not the only one that thinks it's just someone fucking with EHME. But, having said that, yes, I'm that stupid.

    LOST

I actually thought that his clutching of the necklace was supposed to make the viewers think/realize that he'd killed himself. It made me think that he realized that his life was destroyed because of his relationship with Sun, and the necklace was the only physical, tangible item that he could look at & hold while teetering on the edge of suicide ... and then he jumped. If he just went splat on Jin's car, I'd have thought that he had been pushed/thrown.
  12. The divas generate more revenue for the WWE than most of the males on the roster. They might be a waste of time to some, but they line Vince's pockets in big, big way.

    The Office, Season 3

In Superjerk's defense, there is a level of ambiguity in Czech's sentence ... it's written in a way that one could presume that Kevin being too obvious in that scene is what prevented it from being the funniest line of the night.

skills as a message boarder I <3 the fact that my non-sarcastic comment about Leena has become a TSM running joke.

I'm about to say something blasphemous, and will likely eat my words after seeing tonight's episode, but the previews for this week leave me kind of disinterested in seeing it. I'm sure I'll be wrong and will come here tomorrow and praise how much I dug it ... but there wasn't that "oh snap!" moment during the previews that make me have to tune in. You actually said the point that I was going to make: of course they have a lot of filler ... they have a lot of time to fill. They kind of HAVE to fill some time. And you say "waiting for something to happen". There is something happening relatively consistently. Maybe not the exact things you are looking for, iggy, but there are answers being provided and "things happening" pretty regularly. In terms of the actions of the three captives. Jack's alpha male persona sucks, always has and always will in my eyes. But Kate had every reason to be a bitch - I'm guessing that most people would be stand-off-ish if they were held against their will by people with guns and asked to put themselves in handcuffs before eating an ocean-front breakfast. And why would you expect Sawyer to "develop" in the 80 (estimated) days that they've been on the island? Especially since he didn't develop in the 30+ years prior to the crash?!?

    Heroes

I've been predicting 'heel turn' for him since episode one. My guess is that he gets some assistance from The Forces of Evil ... who/what/how still TBD. Dubs, took the words right out of my mouth. I was kind of pissed about how cliched and lame that scene was ... until she bounced off the fence and got impaled. And the autopsy scene - and the previews for next week - sealed the deal for me. Jonathon, I couldn't disagree more ... this is the one subplot that I'm most apathetic about. I don't care for the protagonist, and care less for the evil politician brother. While the Ali Larter subplot is relatively lame and poorly acted, at least there's some eye candy to keep me occupied.

    Iron Maiden

You want to be really mad, Laz? I ended up having an extra ticket to the show. A friend of mine no-showed, and since he didn't let me know that he was no-showing, I didn't have the chance to arrange for someone else to come instead. I ended up just miracle-ing it to some trashy looking blonde girl. The show was decent ... but they played the new album in it's entirety, so if you were hoping to see, well, most of the classics, you were gravely disappointed. Their set was: the whole new album, then Fear of the Dark, then Iron Maiden. (End of set.) Encore: Two Minutes to Midnight, Evil That Men Do, & then closing with Hallowed be Thy Name.
