What distinguishes People from Time? Or Life from Rolling Stone? It's the quality of the writing. If a site has stylistic and original writers, readers flock towards it. Unique perspectives and organization of an article (for skimmers) also goes a long way.

If you need new writers for uncovered promotions or programming, let me know. PM me and I'll give you some experience specifics.

Proud to be a Jets fan.

Damn, more RVD stereotyping B.S. Pushing RVD, at that time, will be a good business move. Plain and simple. The WWE is known for many things and one of them is recognizing the increased popularity of a wrestler, regardless of negative comments on the WWE and wrestling style. Examples: Goldberg, Bill. Guerrero, Eddie. Flair, Ric. Hogan, Hulk. Austin, Steve. Ratings may increase. RVD Merchandise numbers will increase. Will he stick around in the main event slot for a long period of time? Probably not. His pops remain consistent, but who else other than JBL and Taker has maintained the slot throughout the year? But what will happen is an increased role in the Smackdown title picture for a bit. The crowd reaction will be undeniable. Jesus man, it's called a "positive outlook."

Smackdown lacks big stars though. RAW, at that particular time, featured Austin, RVD, Flair, Guerrero, Rock, Brock and many others. Benoit's return was lost in the shuffle because there was no continuation with Austin, due to his departure. Smackdown currently features (prominently) Angle, JBL, Guerrero, Taker and Show. When RVD comes back, deals could've been made (such as losing Cena and gaining Orton), but they still will lack a strong upper mid-card or main event level face. RVD, with what I will call "comeback momentum," will be TWICE as over with the crowd. The situations are different.

Damn, that's horrible for him. I wish him luck. But, it could be a blessing in disguise for his career. The injury will put him out a few months, but when he comes back, the momentum just may catapult him back in the Main Event slot. When he does return, what would you do with his character? Turn him heel?

Wait a tick, when is this? I had heard nothing about it. Yeah, it's on Tuesday, Feb. 15. Blone Redhead will be opening for them on a couple of dates. This happens to be one of them. I expect nothing by abstract goodness from both.

Interpol and Blone Redhead in Lawrence, KS. Modest Mouse in Omaha. Should be solid.

Hmmm, should be interesting.... Damn, that's harsh. But I can understand.... Man, that's a bit much, but hey.....I can understand. I mean fuck, they stole the man's GIMMICK! Holy shit.......that's just awesome! How much further can this man go?

The Triple H Celebration Thread
Myxamatosis replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
HHH always surrounds himself with the finest of broads..... And the biggest stars of the industry. Smell it? -
I'm worried about what Jericho will do for WM. I mean he nearly killed himself carrying the match tonight. Possible feuds: Benoit? Seems like the obvious one. I'd like to see it without a heel turn though. Christian? God no! Benjamin? Maven? IC Title mix? Most likley, but that would be very dissapointing.
-
What the hell is HHH's character anyway? He doesn't even have a gimmick. Unless "pompous douchebag" counts as a gimmick, I'm not too sure.
-
I agree. I guessed I'm just used to Smackdown Vs. Raw where I'm constantly throwing Orton into the Chamber glass.
-
I agree to a point, but a "piece of shit" match? Come on, it wasn't Kane/Snitksy! Previous feud's were not touched upon as much as I would've liked, but I just enjoyed the pace of the match. All wrestlers in the match have feuded before, so to seek out anything individually past Edge-Michaels or Orton-HHH (the only hot feuds boiling at the moment) is kind of nitpicky. The bumps were brutal. Jericho's performance tonight really sold what kind of beatings come from an Elimination Chamber match. His performance MADE the chamber match for me. And regarding the comment about moves being broken up, I'll have to watch it again, but I can't recall any specific instance where that happened. On the double submission, Batista broke it up. That's all I can recall. The tension factor wasn't featured and that's what really took away from the match. The subtle references with the lack of a pin breakup weren't enough. I agree with you on that. The one wrestler that could've used the cage to his advantage was Jericho, but then again, RVD kind of used most of the offense one could come up with. Benoit did come off the top of the chamber though. And yes, the ending was totally a buzzkill.

Divisional Playoffs Prediction Thread
Myxamatosis replied to therealworldschampion's topic in Sports
Jets in a classic game. Colts over the Patriots (finally!). Rams easily over the Falcons. Eagles squeak by the Vikings. -
You and I man...You and I. I was literally praying last night when the Chargers field goal attempt went down in the overtime period. It was such an emotional rollercoaster ride...but when they missed.....damn. It's kinda unexplainable. I pick the Jets next week. They lost to the Steelers 13-7. That is true. But they hung in there. They never stopped fighting. That's why I've been, and always will be, a Jets fan.

In terms of match quality, The Elimination Chamber match was about 3 to 4 stars. I'd say that's about correct. Horrible booking, but the perfomance was stellar. Performance of the night has to go to Jericho. He took a man-size beating but ended up a strong sentimental favorite with the crowd I was watching with. Jericho = Cinderella!
-
Holy shit....that's just amazing.
-
How exactly does a commentator "lose his edge," so to say, especially with someone as skilled as J.R. I think the bad commentary is reflective of the product, rather than the announcers.
-
Earthquake's fat man ass splash. Sure, it was easy to avoid, but when hit, it's money in the bank.

Unless it's a Duggan match. Unless it's a Duggan match.

How Many People Here Actually Have Dreams..
Myxamatosis replied to natey2k4's topic in The WWE Folder
I too dream of becoming a wrestler. I actually had a dream about this a few nights back. I was cutting a Jake Roberts-esque promo. I love the Arn Anderson and Roberts style of mic work. It's amazing. I'm 20 and a Junior in college. When I graduate, I plan on trying to pursue this as a career. If it works out, great. If it doesn't, at least I can say I tried. My gimmick? I'd love to be known for mat wrestling. The "sweet science" is what I'm going for. My favorite wrestlers were the one's that, despite not looking like bodybuilders in the ring, were fluid in the ring. Their movements, whether in the ring or on the entrance way, were smooth and natural. (Tully Blanchard, Anderson, Roberts, Bret Hart, etc.) I think a lot of that has to do with pacing and being in command of the match at all times. Speed is important, but having control over your body is paramount and is at the heart of the art of professional wrestling. Music? I love Shawn Stasiak's 3rd theme (before Planet Stasiak), but it's a production theme. So, I'd probably go for either the Pixies - Monkey Gone to Heaven or Interpol - Obstacle 1 (just for the intro - Amazing!). -
I watched a marathon last night to catch up on the show and I'm hooked. Concerning tonight's show, I really wanted one of the remaining bands to try and do something to distinguish themselves from the others. That opportunity was golden for each band and judging by the footage, I didn't see too much of a difference in crowd reaction. And Ahmad FUCK-ING rules. His cuss-out tantrum on Big Dave was reality TV gold!
