The OAO Royal Rumble Results/Match Ratings Thread
iliketurtles replied to Steviekick's topic in The WWE Folder
It's worth another viewing (and most likely my rating will lessen because I'm still trying to digest everything that took place and I'm in a marking out mode) but the Rumble match itself was at least ****1/2, if not *****. It was like a Shakespeare play with all the sub-stories going on throughout it and just the story of Benoit makes it all worth it. Marking out for Foley's inring return, the tease of the Undertaker, Angle eliminating Goldberg after Brock attacked him, Big Show playing the role of a "monster" really well...but of course the main story that everyone will remember is Benoit, Benoit, Benoit. I enjoyed the Rumble match more then I did witnessing it live last year in Boston. The only thing 1992's Rumble has better going on is it had bigger stars in that Rumble, but 2004 wasn't full of slouches either. Rest I don't care about and HHH/HBK was a huge dissapointment around ***1/2. Sweet bump by HBK, though, through the announce table. -
That bugged me at the time why they just didn't call it Wrestlemania 16 but I suppose it was just a change for whatever explanation. If you recall, Mania X-7 and X-8 are also most referred by "17" and "18" because I think it made more sense. Thankfully they just went back to the tradionally roman numerals with last years and this years. Such a little detail...yet it can lead to major discussion.

Just letting you guys know that Metzler reported eariler this week an episode with Bret Hart of MadTV will be re-airing today at 2:00 PM EST on Comedy Central. Will be definately intresting to check it out.
-
It's on right now. Damnit, I missed the beginning. I was hoping to record it.
-
It says Eastern Time on his site. I think he probably just got a bad source.
-
He was on it a few times in 1999 when he was in WCW and he also was on it once back in 1997 shortly before he left the WWF.
-
Oh what the fuck. It just said that Kids in the Hall is on next. Fucking Dave. LOL.
-
It wasn't on at 1 when MadTV was on so I hope so.
-
LOL...I meant who won the thing, not who had the best fashion.
