Good character. I think he's a good example of my theory that guys who are left to rot for a long time do up their game if they are given responsibility. His matches are still bad, I've never seen his character translate well in the ring, but they're the best of his career.

The acoustic-y one that Alien Ant Farm did, I think it was called attitude. So Bad. 'A' had that 'Nothing' song, they're the most irritating band on the planet anyway, and 'The Scientist' by Coldplay was pretty laughable. Snow Patrol's 'Run' and most of Keane's output is Coldplay-lite, which I previously didn't think possible, so they qualify. I don't think my opinion on this subject has changed in a couple of years, so maybe that says music is getting better. Probably not.

I'm not so sure that Eddie would be more popular actually. Obv. They're turning him heel and all, but in the last six months he's been in second place. That will probably change with his next face run. I think Cena will fade eventually because of his increasingly obvious limitations, but his merchandise machine is in full swing and his reaction on the stick is nearing Rock levels now.

Suede's 'Animal Nitrate' is loathed by the people I go to indie clubs with, but I love it.

The synth line in 'All the things she said' is ok actually yeah. I can't decide whether I should consider The Vapors a guilty pleasure or not. 'Turning Japanese' is viewed as pretty silly, but they knew how to write a hook.

Darth Vader did say 'Luke, I am your father' but Captain Kirk never ever said 'Beam me up, Scotty'.

I'm not a huge gamer, but I find it interesting that the PS2 is the most popular here. A fair few people (in England) here consider it the worst, cos there's no exclusive games. I like the gamecube. How games should be.

I shed a tear at the end of Jurassic Bark. I think the final episode features some of the best writing (the opera) and is a fair reflection of why it shouldn't have been cancelled.

I've finally secured Third Reich n Roll on CD. Surprisingly, I've never actually owned it before.

I think the points made 'For' taker were good. His matches for the most part are too long and he's too far up the card, but as a big draw to get the crowd going in shorter affairs, he's got life in him yet.

I think the problem with English Settlement is just that, you have to know what came first. It is long, which means it's not a good introduction. But man, when the hooks do come through...

I've practically given up on the guy I lent Pink Flag to, and I'm seriously about to just cave in and buy it again. I've got On Returning (77-79) So I can still listen to 'Ex Lion Tamer' on repeat but that's unfair to the rest of the godlike songs on that album.

Devo - New Traditionalists. Nothing ever matched up to Are We Not Men?.. but this is ok. Better than the mess that was Duty Now For The Future, at least.
