They're ok, from what I know the songwriter(s) were using interesting arrangements for the time but ran into a lot of anti-semetism in the industry before forming 10cc so didn't really make it as big as they could have.

As for 80s albums in no order... 1. Butthole Surfers - Rembrandt Pussyhorse 2. The Smiths - The Queen is Dead 3. The Pixies - Surfer Rosa 4. XTC - English Settlement 5. The Residents - The Commerical Album That's very tentative and fairly lazy. But at least 3 of those are certainly not going anywhere.

I'll add 'Love Shack' but I should point out I actually think it's good. 'Animal Nitrate' by Suede...I don't think it's that guilty, it's just everyone I hang around with thinks disagrees, and Suede got reeeeally bad.

As a stuck-up 'yeah I was into them when I was 12' type, I'll say I thought 'Buddha of Suburbia' was quite good, and the album sounded better than their recent efforts overall.

Yeah. And I do enjoy it now. Some albums take me a while cos I buy four or five and get hooked on one. If one of them's not as immediate, I'm all like 'well fuck that one, I'm gonna play sparks again!' and soforth.

Random note: World Leader Pretend is a terrible band name. Even if the middle 8 of the actual song was good.

And actually, they had a handful of good songs. I don't think that was one of them, though.

Update - To be honest, I can appreciate the slits being ahead of their time and all, but this isn't the sort of thing I can listen to much. I like The Fall, Wire are of course awesome and 'I'm a Party' off the Magazine album is fast becoming addictive.

Wire - Send. Obviously it's not the best music ever, like their first three albums were, but I like it, especially the last track.

Kaiser Chiefs owe a fair bit of their sound to The Correct Use of Soap, I've decided. They managed to make it sound like shit, too. Well done, you leeds twats. In other news, I've made peace with the futureheads. They're harmless. Not that I wouldn't advocate causing them harm.

Kiss are the best bad band ever. 'Some Girls' by Rachel Stevens and 'Love Machine' by Girls aloud both rock. IDRM might like both of those, actually.
