I fully support the gay gimmick for Jindrak and Cade... ... if it will successfully kill their careers and get them off my TV.
-
Maybe they're bringing back the mask... Not that I give two shits about Shane and his ego trip. I'm still on a high after watching that Tampa/Indy barnburner last night. What a ride!

I always thought of McNabb as a playmaker more than a standard QB. Sure his passing numbers aren't so legendary, but his ability to make plays more than compensates for that, no? I figure that's why he got the press. As an aside, does anybody know what happened to Sterling Sharpe? I'd rather see him on the show than Irvin, who can't seem to string a coherent sentence together without waving his arms and getting into Steve Young's face. I don't think Tom Jackson likes him, either.

Umm... ... nope. Still won't see it. I don't need a hammer to fall on me to know that gravity is real, and I don't need to see that movie to know that it sucks.

ECW's Anarchy Rulz '99 in Chicago. I was there live. It was pretty funny. What was even funnier was the crowd booing local shock jock Mancow Muller out of the building after he came out to congratulate Raven. -Ben I remember that, too. Someone even pelted that asshole with a soda, and he played it off like he was some sort of bad ass. What a tool.

I would cry if Konnan was brought in. Unless he was shipped to RAW. Then I wouldn't mind.

I'm just glad they finally named that finisher of his (Asai DDT).

[Controversial Statement 2] I didn't see the match as any sort of racial attack, seeing as how Coachman is whiter than Carlton and Urkle combined. [/Controversial Statement 2] As for having to choose between an elderly announce team that has lost its talent and an ineffectual heel team that never had it, I'd opt for not watching the show. Which I did.

Someone mentioned it on the first page. I forget what show it was, but it was an ECW PPV where Tommy Dreamer is getting beat on by Rhino and Steve Corino (I think). Raven tries to run in, but doesn't shoot between the bottom and middle ropes correctly and gets tangled up in them. I don't remember the exact quote or circumstances, but JR says something like "(wrestler's name) tries to handle the Big Johnson" referring to Ahmed Johnson. Chyna ripping her pants during some 6-man tag.

Angle is yet another wrestler with so much talent that he's used primarily to make lesser guys look better. I can really see him carrying the industry to the next level, if they'd only give him the ball for real, instead of these half-hearted pushes. It's a little disheartening to know that a truly talented generation of wrestlers (Benoit, Guerrero, Angle, Jericho, etc.) have been held under the pecking order so much by the old guard (HHH, UT, Austin) that they'll be surmounted by the newer crop of "potential" superstars (Cena, Brock) without ever tasting true Main Event status.

I agree. It's like her limbs are too long for her body to handle, so she kinda flops around all the time, and skips into moves instead of merely walking. That kick-up DDT she does is pretty swank, though. She should use that as a finisher instead.

I'm doing it right now! I always have my iTunes cranking in my headphones when I'm at work. The only distractions it poses are: 1. When I have to remove my headphones to stand up or get something out of reach, and 2. When I have to stop what I'm doing to skip a song on my songlist. The problem with iTunes is that the random feature ends up shuffling to the "most listened to" tracks in my songlist. I have roughly 24 hours of music in my current songlist alone, but I can only get through about 5 hours of it at a clip, so it ends up playing most of the same stuff everyday. And that's why I gave up listening to the radio. Hold on, I gotta skip over this Tori Amos track...

How many must watch shows do you have?
notJames replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in Television & Film
To me, no current television show is worth dropping everything for. Not even SD!, which is the only show I try to watch religiously. Possible mentions are the Sunday Fox lineup (Simpsons, KOTH), although that gets messed up if/when I watch WW_ PPVs or if a good football game is on ESPN. Other than that, no TV show has been interesting enough for me to watch on a regular basis, especially on the Big 4 networks. In fact, I'd say that TV is at it's worst now than it's ever been in my 30+ years of existence, what with Reality TV and NBC's "Must Not See TV" Thursdays. To quote Ferris Bueller's Day Off, "I weep for the future." (rant over... for now...) -
Ugh. You guys are way off base with these guys. NONE of them have potential to be anything even remotely close to great. Orton will be given the HHH push to no avail, because he's being molded after a shitty wrestler instead of going with whatever it is they saw in him in the first place. The other guys, especially the wCw rejects, would be dime-a-dozen Velocity fodder if they weren't roided up (Jindrak, Batista) or had connections to the Clique (Cade). And please, don't mention guys the calibre of Spanky and London in the same breath as those RAW losers. To borrow a Brainism, that's like comparing filet mignon to horse manure.

I wish the title had read HHH on DeatHHHbed. For all you sensitive types out there who might be outraged at anyone wishing death on someone, relax. I don't mean it. For the rest of you, yes, I do mean it.

I guess maybe the few times I've seen him hit it, it just seems like there's no impact. He's just so skinny that it seems like he can't put a lot of mass behind the move. I can't really explain it... maybe I'm just used to big burly bodies being flung all over the place... ... in the context of a wrestling match, of course. For what it's worth, I wasn't a big fan of the Diamond Cutter, either.
-
That's not true. He has the RKO. Only mistake you made there though. It's not much of a finisher though, is it? It reminds me of Hurricane's flying neckbreaker, only in reverse. How come that move never results in a pinfall? Because it's a transition spot. And that's what the RKO is. I'd say Orton is overrated because he has no presence. Sure, Brock may have been green when he first came in, and he may have (had) nonexistent mic skills, but he sure looked the part of a killer wrestler. Orton looks like a swimmer. Hardly the look of a tough guy, eh?

Damn, those Weinerboard posters definitely embody the spirit of their namesake. What a bunch of weiners. I especially loved this gem: If Kane had that much of a problem dealing with the Vince's pudgy gloryhog of a son, what chance does he have of beating F.G.B., who was able to shrug off a sledgehammer shot? Stupid humans. -
While I can appreciate you were unsure about how to spell "incinerator" (which you spelled correctly), you might want to do a spell check on "hypocrisy". Many people mistakenly spell it like they would "democracy" or "plutocracy". You are not alone. BTW, nice story. Extremism renders many practitioners foolish. Good on ya, cobber!

Mark Henry. Fucking a corpse rates only slightly less nauseating than fucking your sister… although it's probably comparable to fucking Mae Young.
