Super awesome marathon match between Sanguinetti and Srichaphan on Sunday night. Those two 30+ rallies in the fifth set were a sight to see. I'd take that over a Federer match any day of the week. And I would not be upset if Agassi was ousted by fellow American James Blake. If the torch is to be passed, let it be to this outstanding class act. As of the ladies, I will be passing on the Pierce/Mauresmo match. Too much mannish pug-fugliness going on there. Mauresmo looks like Anthony Keidis sans tattoos.

Re: Orton When you have to have your dad help you beat guys after you've been World Champion, it's time to call it a career. If anyone still thinks he's worthy of ME status, then wrestling is worse off than I ever thought. And as it's been stated before, having Birchill sell for Funaki was just wrong on so many levels.

Yeah, but hope springs eternal. And she's much better eye candy than some of the others. And really, what else is women's tennis for?

Are people really that interested in UW? I don't know anyone who would want to buy his DVD, even if it was a positive retrospective. Feh.

Poor Andy Roddick. First he doesn't get to use the nickname A-Rod, and now he gets ousted in the 1st round. I always knew he was overrated. The pretty boys usually are. And it's not like it's not a foregone conclusion that Federer is winning this thing outright. Who can beat him? I personally would like to see him and that new kid Nadal in the finals, but I don't know if the brackets would make that possible. As for the women's side, as long as one of the Williamses doesn't win it, I'll be happy. And if it's Sharapova, I'll be very happy. Now that's good eatin'!

So what's the scoop on WR Michael Jenkins? Is he worth a waiver wire pickup in Fantasy Football land now that Price is gone? I keep getting conflicting reports about him.

I would buy a talking one that said "I'm a big fat piece of shit!"

Vader DVD? Won't happen. Although, I could watch him ruin Sting's shit every day of the week and twice on Wednesday.

Prediction: Masters gets HBK in the Masterlock. Cue run-in by Flair, Triple H, Angle, Bradshaw and Undertaker.

I usually have to do this when watching British comedy [especially with Welsh actors]. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I had to do that for a Scottish film called Sweet Sixteen. The kid's accent was so thick I couldn't understand him otherwise. I think I had to do it for some of The Young Ones episodes as well. I think films should be watched in their native languages. You lose a lot with the translations, inflections, etc. Plus, some films (especially Asian and French films) are just better that way. I watched Spirited Away with the subtitles, and then I tried to watch it with the English dubbing. I stopped after ten minutes. It just doesn't seem right to me.

Distracted from learning how to wrestle the "less-is-more" way. According to sources, video game wrestlers have a larger arsenal of moves than your standard WW_ punch-kick-spinebuster-victory roll* moveset, and it was starting to corrupt the newer guys. Can't go putting exciting wrestling moves in Vince's "sports entertainment", right? * substitute "victory roll" with "pull of the tights" for heel movesets

I'm not sure how I feel about Kennedy yet. I saw him debut on Velocity (as Ken Kennedy) and I wasn't too impressed, even with the hokey ring intro. And that finisher is just not going to last. First off, he can probably only do it on cruiserweights and hope not to cause injury. I don't see Hardcore Holly taking that bump. And think about this: he's got 200+ lbs strapped to his shoulders thrown into a forward roll. What if Kennedy times it wrong and lands on his head? If WW_ is worried about cruisers doing 450s and SSPs, what hope will the Super Finlay Roll have of surviving? Don't get me wrong… the move was pretty scary. When he hit hit it, it reminded of when Foley took that fat-ass Samoan Drop from Big Show way back when. I just don't think Kennedy will allowed to use it on anyone but S2H or Paul London. And that regular Finlay Roll just doesn't look like a legit finisher. Sorry to be a wet blanket yet again…

The first SmackDown! after SummerSlam will include a monster main event as World Heavyweight Champion Batista, United States Champion Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio team up to face JBL, Orlando Jordan and Eddie Guerrero. Weird seeing EDDY~! teaming up with JBL after all the shit that went on between them during their feud. Gotta love wrestling's insistence on destroying continuity… unless of course they address it beforehand. Meanwhile, Booker T & Sharmell will be Christian's guest on the Peep Show. From one soap opera angle to another. Who will get custody of the Spinaroonie? Please, won't someone think of the Spinaroonie?!?!? The No Holds Barred Match turned out to suit Batista just fine as the World Heavyweight Champion defended his championship by defeating JBL at SummerSlam. Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio regained custody of Dominick in a wild Ladder Match against Eddie Guerrero. Plus, Randy Orton, with the help of his father Cowboy Bob, defeated Undertaker. Can't wait for that segment… to be over. And SmackDown! has a new United States Champion as Chris Benoit made Orlando Jordan tap out in a matter of seconds. Don’t miss the first SmackDown! after SummerSlam on UPN (8/7) CT. Unless you have something more constructive to do, like clean your toilet or delouse your family pet… Prediction: 3 pages by Friday noon. But just barely.

My keeper money league draft was this Saturday. I drafted 8th out of a 12-team league. The 3-foot Italian sub was superb. Bad Mother Canuckers Franchise: Edgerrin James Rd. 01: Clinton Portis Rd. 02: Javon Walker Rd. 03: Michael Clayton Rd. 04: None (traded last season) Rd. 05: Carson Palmer Rd. 06: Brandon Stokley Rd. 07: Eagles DST Rd. 08: Mewelde Moore Rd. 09: Kurt Warner Rd. 10: Jason Elam Rd. 11: Heath Miller Rd. 12: Samie Parker I have to pick up one more player off the waiver wire today, and hopefully it will be one of these three WRs: Clarence Moore Tyrone Calico Greg Lewis I think my team is solid, but I don't really like my players. I had guys like Trent Green, Randy Moss and Hines Ward last season, and I really liked watching them play, etc. I'm not getting the same feeling from these guys. I can't explain it. I also echo Special K's sentiment -- Kahran's team is amazing. How big is your league, 4 teams?!? Anyhow, good luck to everyone this season! I'm sure I will be asking tons of FF questions as the season goes on.

Testify. '80s Euro synthpop gets as much love as it does derision, which is unfortunate, because it was such a breath of fresh air in contrast to all the crap that was on the radio at the time. Erasure's The Innocents will probably be one of my Top 20 favourite albums for all time. As for my list: Tool Hanson Matchbook Romance Coheed and Cambria No Use For A Name Nirvana Indigo Girls

I don't think a mediocre show like that deserves to be on DVD. Besides, they probably show all those episodes on TVLand or Lifetime or whatever Christian cable networks there are. I mean, it's not like it was a quality show like Family Ties. Now that I could see being on DVD. A Growing Pains set would probably just feature Kirk Cameron talking about how Jesus saved him or how Tracey Gold battled bulimia or blah blah blah. Next.

The Evolution of the WWE Viewing Audience
notJames replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in The WWE Folder
And the winner of this bout: Jobber of the Week! Man, if this is an example of the (d)evolution of the WW_ viewing audience, I'm going the way of the dinosaurs. And for the record, the guys I watch PPVs with are more or less smarks, but for all the bitching we do during the shitty parts, we still have fun without the benefit of making fun of the marks. Funny story: there was this one point during the Hogan/HBK match where Hogan's white hair was sticking up in different directions, much like Doc Brown in Back To The Future, and one of my friends does his best Christopher Llloyd and yells out "1.21 gigawatts!!!" About 10 minutes later, when Hogan's face is all bloody and dripping, the same guy switches to Brad Pitt in Fight Club and yells out "You don't know where I've been, Lou!!!" Good times. -
Where do I begin…?

I would prefer cartoony out of main event matches. Of course, considering who makes up the Main Event scene nowadays, I guess I'm shit outta luck.

I can't find her neck under all those chins.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! If Stuffi McHams considered Nidia fat, then there is no way Tons of Fun Sunny is gonna appear on WW_ TV. No way, no day. Unless of course, it's as a "before" picture for the Simon System.

"Don't You Forget About Me" - Simple Minds (The Breakfast Club) "In Your Eyes" - Peter Gabriel (Say Anything) "Pretty In Pink" - Psychedelic Furs (Pretty In Pink) "Somebody's Baby" - Jackson Browne (Fast Times At Ridgemont High) When I hear those songs, I immediately think of those movies.

What is Chavo's gimmick going to lead to?
notJames replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Bingo. I'm sure there's a rider on this scenario where they'll give Kerwin and Tajiri an extended feud on Heat, and then release the both of them for not lighting up the box office. -

Birchill called up? RAW worker w/ familiar role?
notJames replied to Fökai's topic in The WWE Folder
This move is somewhat reminiscent of Scott Steiner's original blockbuster suplex, back when he wasn't so freakishly 'roided up. It was essentially a "fallaway slam", except he actually backflipped while holding the guy, and then he'd land on him. In comparison, it looked more impressive than the C4, plus it was much more believeable. But yeah, if you're able to dismiss the reality of a fight from the equation, it is sorta neat. Kinda sorta... ... nah, to me it's still silly. What would really impress me is if someone would pull off Phil LaFon's top rope inverted (or reverse, I forget) suplex. That shit was awesome.
