What? You have your years mixed up. They had a ton of close calls the year they played USC. It was the year they played LSU that they dominated everyone in the regular season.

Point is he knew the rule and he agreed to it, so he has no cause to bitch. If he thought the rule was unfair then he shouldn't have agreed to it at the time it was put in place. It only became unfair once it didn't benefit him. So that's what he needs to shut up. And yeah Tech was the little sister, but they were ranked 2 in the country and very much in the race for the Big XII and national title. Then OU completely took them out of the race. What I'm saying is that OU is more punished for doing that than given credit for it.

Ok seriously. I know the whole 3-way tie thing has been argued to death (especially by me) but ESPN sure has kept it alive all week. Everytime the Big XII title game is brought up they have to bring up that it should be Texas (despite the fact that Texas agreed on these rules before the season) but there is one thing that is really bugging me that I have to ask some of you guys about. And that's the Tech being thrown out of the equation thing to justify Texas going ahead of OU. McShay keeps saying "I know it's a 3-way tie, but I think you have to throw Tech out after the way they got dominated at OU." So what I'm wondering is.....why is this a strike against OU? People keep throwing Tech out and wanting to prop Texas over OU because OU destroyed Tech enough to make them completely fall off the face of the planet. So why isn't OU given credit for this? I have not heard one person at that network give OU credit. It's always "Tech lost bad so they're out. It's down to OU and Texas and OU won head to head." Not "Well Texas beat OU but lost to Tech. Then OU completely killed Tech. It's obvious the Sooners are playing great now with the way they manhandled Tech." No credit at all for the win over Tech, just another excuse to prop Texas up. I guess I shouldn't care since OU is in the game and will go to the national title game if they win Saturday (despite what some conspiracy theorists say), but I mean damn it's frustrating to continually hear that and never hear credit being given for why Tech was knocked out of the equation. They act like it was all Tech screwing up. Oh well McShay and Kiper are douche bags anyway who always think they're right. In other news.............Sarkisian may be the man in Washington. . Before you know it every head coach in college football will have worked for Pete Carroll, Bob Stoops, Mack Brown, Bobby Bowden or Bill Snyder at some point or another.\

So apparently Mike Gundy was on the local radio yesterday talking about how Mack Brown had no case and no leg to stand on. He said all the Big XII coaches agreed on the rules and tie-break scenarios before the season started. So Mack Brown knew the rules and agreed on them! He only started complaining because it didn't benefit him. I guarantee you if the shoe was on the other foot he'd say "The rules are the rules and we agreed on them. Suck it up Bob."

I would say that's going to be embarassing for ND to lose to Rice, but they already lost to Syracuse. It just can't be any worse than that.

What did I do? Oh, the sig? I thought it was funny. I'm sure you can easily find an anti-OU one about losing 4 straight BCS games to counter mine.

Is Washington the second best job in the Pac 10? Or has Oregon morphed into that?

Well then I was lied to by the person that informed me of this. All I'd heard was what he said and he basically went on and on about how Carroll was doing it to put the screws to UCLA and show them that he doesn't respect them and can afford to play them with 2 timeouts. My mistake and apologies.........

Now you're just looking for reasons to hate. OU should've pulled all starters at halftime right? Even if the other team left their No. 1 team in there and started coming back right? Pulling the starters at halftime would be dumb unless you were up about 75-0. Oh and btw Bradford has basically missed about a game and a half thanks to all the 4th quarters he's sat out of. And OU's only thrown it about 10 times in 4th quarters where they're blowing the team out. Anyway, surprise nobody has said anything about USC deciding to wear their home jerseys on the road. For some reason it's a huge topic on ESPN. I don't think it's that big of a deal, just kind of make Carroll look like a jerk, but that's it.

Right.............. Anyway back to BSU. You really think Ohio State would travel better than them? Even to the Fiesta Bowl? I think their fans would show up in droves to the Fiesta Bowl if they were playing Texas. Plus I think the ratings would be through the roof for it and the story and buildup could be really good. So where is Utah projected to play at? In the Sugar Bowl against the loser of Florida/Alabama. The Fiesta Bowl: where mid-majors go to shine (Utah in 04, BSU in 06) The Sugar Bowl: where mid-majors go to have their dreams destroyed (Hawaii last year, Utah probably this year)

I can't until justice is served! Namely ESPN admitting they have an agenda to get Texas ahead. I read a chat with Mark Schaljfahaljhgbab, on ESPN.com where he basically defied logic the entire time and stuck straight forward with his burnt orange blinders on. He insinuated that OU would win the national title, then insinuated that Texas would still be better and more deserving. WTF!? Ok back to the Ohio State thing. Why are they going to the BCS again!? Why can't Boise go ahead of them? I'd much rather see Boise in the BCS than Ohio State. BSU is way more entertaining than Ohio State. These games are designed for entertainment right? I mean what justification is there to put OSU in over Boise? BSU is ranked higher, will probably draw better ratings (the Fiesta Bowl is still fresh in everyone's minds), and who knows the crowd may be better from them?

So ESPN is still pushing this idea that Florida may not make it to the title game even if they beat 'Bama and they're still pushing the fact the human voters may still keep Texas ahead of a Big XII champion OK. I don't think Florida has anything at all to worry about. I'm kind of wondering about OU though. ESPN is pushing their burnt orange agenda still and it clearly influenced the voters last week. Any chance a Big XII champ OU doesn't make the national title game? It was funny because they flashed this graphic that said "Bob Stoops 5-1 in Big XII title games" then went on about how OU has had trouble and struggled in the Big XII title game in the past. What!? Yeah they got blown out by KSU in 03' but they've won 3 Big XII title since and two of them were complete blowouts (Colorado and Mizzou). Then someone picked Mizzou to pull the upset. I just don't think Mizzou's pass defense, which is ranked in the 100's, can really stop Bradford. One columnist said it right, OU is basically from another planet on offense. Has anybody actually watched this team on offense? I don't hear a lot of people in the media or here really say a lot about how great this offense is. They're pretty much as close to unstoppable as possible. They've scored 35 points in every game this season. I don't know how Mizzou stops that. That's why Florida vs. OU would be fun. They'd be two great offenses going at it. But OU vs. 'Bama would be fun too because it'd be OU's unstoppable offense vs. 'Bama's top the unstoppable force defense. Hell I like the notion of Texas going to the Sugar Bowl to play the loser of the SEC title game. Because if Florida lost it'd be really fun to see McCoy vs. Tebow. Texas/Ohio State doesn't do a whole lot for me. Hell, anyone/Ohio State does nothing for me.

I think it was a little from A and a little from B for Cal. So apparently Bradford has torn ligaments in his non-throwing hand and he had them nearly the entire game and will have surgery after the Big XII title game. Obviously it didn't hurt him as he still threw for 307 and 4 TDs and did his super John Elway impression by flipping 20 feet in the air. But, this could still be a big blow for OU against Mizzou and in whatever bowl they go to. It doesn't appear to hurt Bradford (since he did it on the third series of the game), but it severely limits OU's running game. If Bradford can't take a snap under center (which appears to be true since he fumbled both of the ones he took in that game) then he can't hand off out of the I or in the Ace. They have to run that god-awful stretch play that they couldn't do worth a damn Saturday.

This is a pretty decent article by Brad Edwards: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?page=roadtobcs/0807 He brings up some good points in the beginning (the voters voting one way one week then suddenly changing it to try and manipulate the BCS the next week), but I think he may just be trying to start a debate that isn't there with the end of the column. He's wondering if Florida doesn't move up enough after beating 'Bama and if OU and Texas play for the national title. I think it's a pretty ludicrous assumption, Florida will go if they win. I don't see any way they don't. Then he's thinking that Texas would stay ahead of OU and OU may not go to the title game even if they win the Big XII. I don't see that happening either.

Hey I'm just bringing up what I heard. I'd like to see if anyone else has any comments on it (especially what Feldman said), I'm not challenging that anyone is saying that here.

It'd be cool if there were no divisions and OU and Texas just got to play each other again.......

I don't understand the whole "Let's discount Tech because they got their butts kicked" way of thinking. That's the justification that these ESPN talking heads are using. Well you can't discount Tech because if OU had lost last night then Tech would've won the Big XII South outright! But of course, ESPN tried to pose the question of if that was fair or not as well. Not to mention Bruce Feldman trying to say that if OU had played a close game with Tech they'd had more argument to get to the Big XII title game. It was a 3-way tie, if it was 2-way tie then the team that won would've won outright.

Whoo......I sure did run the gamut of emotions last night and today. I need to have my heart checked out now. Now OU needs to not overlook Mizzou like they've been known to do in the past.

None since Florida and Alabama won last week. But there's still a chance for Texas to play one of them if OU pulls a routine OU choke against Mizzou.

It'd be nice if they'd date that shit to avoid heart attacks! Fuck, I really think Texas is going ahead. Edwards seems to think they'll be tied up in the computer rankings which will give Texas the edge.

Well fuck. If CBS has some inside info and this is correct then the Longhorns win the Big XII South: http://www.sportsline.com/collegefootball/polls/bcs

    The College Football Thread 11/25 - 11/29

Harris Poll: Enough to put the Longhorns above the Sooners? 6 points? OU ahead by 1 in the Coaches? According to Brad Edwards if OU is ahead by even a point in the computer then Texas would've had to be ahead by 31 points in the Harris to move ahead. HOWEVER, if Texas and OU end up tied in the BCS (which he thinks is very likely) then Texas just needs a 2-point margin in the Harris. Fuck....I think Texas is going to Kansas City. Fuck fuck. Mack Brown's campaigning worked again.

    The College Football Thread 11/25 - 11/29

For the polls, only point total matters. They changed that a few years ago. So OU being ahead by 1 point really doesn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things does it? It's basically a tie. If Texas comes out ahead by a few points in the Harris Poll then they could easily take this couldn't they?
