Ok it's obvious nobody is going to change their mind. Just fucking drop it and we'll wait until the game.

1 good defense. The Ohio State University. I think that Oklahoma team last season was a hell of a lot better than Texas is this year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OU last year would've been beaten by Texas at the end of last year. I was around the OU team last year. They had no heart. OU's defense is good. They were the #1 rush defense in the country for a long time. Colorado's defense isn't bad. Kansas actually has a good defense. So no they haven't played just one good defense. If they've played one good defense then USC has played no good defenses.
-
yes and I'm talking about the fact that these guys talk about the conference like it's never been good and they refuse to give the teams the benefit of the doubt despite a winning history.
-
They won't blow Texas out. They won't come anywhere close. Texas will be the best team they've played in 2 1/2 years. To think otherwise is to ignore the facts and just hate.....again. Which you guys are becoming famous for.
-
Texas hasn't faced any good offensive teams, and as Glove said, Texas KNEW A&M was going to run, and they still couldn't stop the run. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They've played decent offensive teams. Has USC played a good defensive team? No. About on the same level as Texas has played against offenses this season. The best defense they played was Notre Dame who gave them fits. Texas is much better than ND on defense. And Texas has scored on plenty of good defenses this season.
-
You shut up. I'm tired of listening to everyone on this board hate on the Big XII so I'm going to defend them. If you listent to you guys then the Big XII is a D 1-AA conference and USC has already beaten Texas by 50 points.
-
Well you're a pretty big dumbass yourself with your blind hating.
-
Because Big XII teams run and Texas has shut them all down. Yeah the OU fan is defending Texas because the board has serious Big XII haterism problems. Hell listening to all of you the Big XII was never good. And I just showed early in 2002 where they finished with 3 teams in the Top 10. But according to you guys the conferene should be stricken from Division 1 b/c it's never done shit.
-
That's bullshit. First of all that's Big XII haterism. Second of all Texas wasn't ready b/c A&M was 5-5 and Texas had blown everyone except Ohio State out this year. They were overconfident and thought they had it in the bag. Therefore they went in there not ready and had to fight for it. Just like USC has had to do this year. Once again if USC had trouble with those offenses then they'll have trouble with the #1 scoring offense. Not to mention they haven't played a defense that ranks as well as Texas.
-
I said nothing like it. I'm saying that if he's going to play the "well if A&M can do this then USC can...." do this game then it goes both ways. Texas has the #2 total offense and the #1 socring offense against a statistically average USC defense that has had points put up on it by offenses that aren't as good as the Texas offense.
-
Once again I knew the USC fans would ignore the fact that Texas wasn't ready and that it was a rivalry game and just go right to promoting USC. They weren't ready for this game obviously. They've been blowing better teams than A&M out all year. They were overconfident. Your mighty Trojans have had the same problem. If Fresno State can move up and down on USC then I wonder what Vince Young and the #1 scoring offense can do? See it doesn't work like that. Texas will be ready for Bush and White. They weren't ready for this game. They thought they had it in the bag.

My best friend is my only friend. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fixed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow.......that joke is getting old. I predicted someone was going to do that and I was actually going to post it myself just to save someone the trouble. Yeah but I'm going off of Peterson's freshman year and the fact that he's still performed well this year with the injury. If you take into account the injury and the fact the guy has been injured since the first game of the year and he didn't play in like 4 games and he still has 12 TDs and 787 yards? He only had 15 TDs all of next year and he an probably get 3 TDs and 150 yards against OSU. The dude's amazing. And if you just watch him run you know he's amazing. And he's doing this injured and with 8-9 guys in the box. He has no other weapons around him. Bomar's not a weapon. He's a pea-shooter compared to Peterson's bazooka. Peterson's career speaks for itself. This season is not a good indicator b/c of the injury and the fact that he's barely played. He's played a total of like 5 games(the texas game doesn't count b/c he was injured and only played like 1 down). Therefore he is still one of the best in the country based off of the body of work. If Bomar develops and keeps 8-9 guys out of the box then you'll see him with 2000 yards next season. Oh and of course Bush is going to have a Heisman performance against UCLA. UCLA doesn't have much defense. They might key on Bush but then Leinart will have a Heisman day. They don't have the defense to keep up with all of USC.

Ok well if you're going to put Bush at one then you have to put AD JUST behind him. The edge AD has is his ability to recieve and return. Without those then he is no better than Peterson. Peterson is a prototypical I-Formation running back and he's the best in the country at that. I mean Bush makes people miss but Peterson says "get off motherfucker" and tosses them or drag them. I mean while you've seen Bush make jaw-dropping plays by leaving guys in his dust you've seen Peterson do the same by breaking tackles and dragging guys with him to the endzone. And this seasno isn't a good indication for Peterson since he's been hurt since literally the first game of the season. And the Alexander and LT thing is that Salisbury was saying Bush is JUST AS GOOD as those two. Which is total bullshit. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wouldn't put AD at #2 after this season, but if he returns to form next year, I'd have no problem putting him at #2 or even #1 if Bush underperforms/leaves USC. And I don't care what ESPN says. Right now Bush doesn't begin to touch the best backs in NFL. He needs to...prove himself in the NFL climate. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The thing is......after his freshman year and the game against Tulsa and Nebraska we know what he can do. We know how good he is. You have to take into account that he hasn't been able to perform this year because his ankle has been hurt and reaggravated repeatedly since the TCU game. So he hasn't been able to perform to standard. If he never got hurt then OU beats TCU and Peterson has 1500 rushing yards right now.

My best friend is my only friend that watches football. And he knows. I do like to promote Texas to people in my classes just because it pisses them off. Call it real life classroom trolling.

Is that what the fighting art that I didnt know was? Yes learning how to fall. The path of Damaramu the hoss wrestler begins..

Still though I think it was just Texas being overconfident and not ready. I don't think it's any indication on how they're going to play in the Rose Bowl. I mean when you blow people out and are that good and you're only 20 years old you tend to get overconfident. Hell it even happened to the lords of football the mighty USC.
-
You think USC beats ND if Bush doesn't push Leinart into the endzone? Hell, Leinart was crappy in that game, Bush won that game. And no way they beat Fresno without Bush. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Don't bother. You're talking to the guy who thinks AD outperformed Bush as a running back. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't say this season. I said overall as a running back AD is the better pure running back. How can you deny how good Peterson is? And on top of that Bush has got the hype machine behind him so that's another reason people think he's so great. With bullshit like Salisbury putting him up there with Alexander and LT it's obvious what ESPN is trying to do.
-
Who is this QB at A&M? I mean the dude's white. He shouldn't be able to run like that. That's 2 good run defenses he's ran all over(texas and ou).
-
Exactly. It'd be like me (a Denver fan) rooting for Oakland. It doesn't work. Only two things can come of it: either your hated rival chokes and you curse yourself for switching your allegiance, or they win and you feel like a whore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've already explained this. Vince Young is entertaining first of all. And second of all Texas is my only hope to shut the Trojans up. Third of all the better Texas looks the better OU looks when they knock off "defending national champion Texas" and win the Big XII.
-
Well all the USC love pisses me off b/c it's almost like people are trying to create something. USC's accomplishments speak for themselves. But with the way they're shilled by ESPN you'd think they get no respect at all by the fans. ESPN is trying to give Bush the Heisman. It's very obvious having Salisbury go on an NFL show and mention that Bush is up there with Shaun Alexander and LT. That's such bullshit. The NFL players are some of the best in the world and Bush isn't in their league at all. But if you listen to ESPN he's played 20 years in the NFL and won multiple Super Bowls. Meanwhile you have Vince Young who is carrying the Longhorns. Without Young they would've lost 2 games this season. And ESPN is like "oh yeah. that guy." Hell if you listened to most of ESPN and the USC fans they've already stomped Texas and won a 3rd national title. USC has enough weapons to survive without Bush. He's only able to achieve the jaw-dropping feats b/c everyone's so damn scared of the rest of the offense. Take away his weapons around him and you will have a situation just like AD is facing this year.
-
It's a rivalry game. Everyone harps on it as anything can happen and they use it as an excuse to defend their teams when they do bad against less than stellar competiton. So therefore Texas should get the built in excuse as well. Or is everyone that hypocritical too?
-
Vince's offensive line isn't helping him at all. So he's sending Reggie Bush the Heisman trophy as a christmas gift. I don't care who the games were against the board is hypocritical when it comes to all sports.
-
Vince Young should come out of this funk in the second half and put the Aggies in their place.
-
They won't blow the game. It's a rivalry game. You all like to harp on how it makes a difference no matter how good or bad the teams are. Once again though this board is hypocritical. If USC has a come from behind win on the road it's "championship caliber" and "proving why they're #1". If Texas does it it's going to be "Well they weren't that good" and "Well they're chokers. They aren't good." If this were wrestling USC would be mega-heels.
